Have A Serbian Film or The Human Centipede tarnished the entire film industry? Of course they haven't and it's the same thing here. The only people it's tarnished the games industry for are people like the idiots at Fox News who already think all video games are the work of Satan himself and just look for any old excuse to label it as such. People with half a brain realise Lollipop Chainsaw is not indicative of the entire industry.

It's Suda 51, if nothing else the game is likely a satire of games in their current state. The industry really does need a good Suda 51 styled slap in the face, a slap doesn't take itself too seriously mind. I haven't played the game yet meself, but I shall do so when I've a bit of spare pocket change.

While I would argue the game is pretty much total tripe I don't think it's having any kind of negative lasting effects on the industry as a whole. A year from now we will very likely have forgotten about the game for the most part.
However, I will say that I believe that had Suda51's name not been attached to the game the reviews would have been much MUCH lower as people wouldn't have been desperate to defend all the juvenile exploitation as some kind of witty satire. Since his name is on it though it is getting a massive pass by the bulk of the people reviewing it.
The bottom line is there are very few redeeming qualities about this game as it is nothing more than shameless pandering to the lowest common denominator. This game wasn't meant to be some satirical commentary on the gaming industry it was meant to sell a lot of copies because it had a half naked cheerleader killing zombies and about as much depth medicine cup.

As someone who played the game for 12 hours straight (2 full playthroughs) I can say that no, it does not degrade the industry as a whole. Nor does it make us juvenile or perverted, as some people on this forum seems to think. If/when you play the game it is SO OBVIOUS that all the sexualisation, violence and immaturity is satirical. I mean come on, no person intheri right mind would make a game like LPC expecting people to take it seriously.

The Combo reward system is called "Sparkle Hunting", there is a bunny suit costume you can wear, and you can throw around a talking head to kill zombies. Let's see COD do THAT.

There are other games that do the exact same thing, there is one about DLC, you have to buy the sound track, the ability to jump, the ability to move left etc as a jab at the game industry ... how much publicity does that game have? Fuck all, this game has a shit tonne 'cos the player is a slutty cheer leader.
I just watched the roosterteeth guys do a video on it and the gameplay looks boring (well I don't like DMC or Bayonetta either), the visuals are nothing special. It is just an average game selling like hot cakes 'cos the makers know how much nerds like fake girls.
