Yes, but according to what actually happened, it reduces it happening, not increases it to do so, that is why that makes no sense.Redryhno said:I'm sorry, I thought that the question of the thread was if this is how dick pics should be handled from now on.Lil devils x said:snip
Mmm. She's a model on Instagram. That's all the solicitation some online dudes need. And there are millions of online dudes, so 'some' might only be a couple thousand.RedRockRun said:So, hordes of men are sending random dick pics to this one woman? Methinks she's soliciting them.
Do you really not see the folly in this kind of push-back against it?(not that I'm pro-dick pic) You throw a rock, you get a boulder in return, you build a thousand foot wall, you get a million foot ladder. You do this enough and you're going to get people that get upset at dick pics being sent far worse things(and honestly a dick pic is pretty innocent on the list of things you can send) because they went overboard which prompts more overboarding to occur.Lil devils x said:Yes, but according to what actually happened, it reduces it happening, not increases it to do so, that is why that makes no sense.Redryhno said:I'm sorry, I thought that the question of the thread was if this is how dick pics should be handled from now on.Lil devils x said:snip
Most people use fake names online. That isn't how you find people. It usually takes about 30 min to find just about anyone.inu-kun said:Maybe, but I doubt she can personally track a guy who logged in using a fake gmail account, which takes what, 5 minutes?Lil devils x said:yes, but it takes more effort to be anonymous on the internet than to not be. When you log into troll accounts, you can still be found. You can browse the internet anonymously with some effort, it is much more difficult to remain anonymous and log into sites. I guess she gets with instagram following but how most women get them?
Regardless, if by solving the problem you mean "paint yourself as a huge target for following harrasement by proclaiming your actions online" then good job.
Women are sent dick pics by simply having an online presence the same as men. Regardless of the community, it is something that tends to happen, even among professional communities such as linkedin, women are often targeted just for being present. By participating in active communities online, you get exposed to these things. In todays world everyone uses the internet from everything from school studies to business and social activities. People communicate online through email, games, forums and a variety of social networking and messengers services , both male and female. Just by using and participating in communities, the same as everyone else, women are targeted for these things.
It is terribly ignorant to think that she painted herself as a target when what she did actually reduced the amount of it she was receiving.
The reason this works is her response is more effective than their harassment.
They do not need you to tell people who you are to find you..
I've read what you say later in the thread and I do agree that local files are safer files on cloud or email. However you also made a blanket recommendation that people send their nudie pics to eachother, and what are common ways that people are going to do this? Email, cloud, snapchat, and other easily hacked services.s0denone said:That is a pretty insane way of thinking. A good rule of thumb is to never have anything you don't want the entire world to see on a device connected to the internet.
Nonsense. Nobody is "hacking" my phone or my computer. The fact that you think "hackers" are on the prowl for John Does dick pics means you haven't the slightest idea about what is going on.
The way shit you take (pics or video alike) end up on the Internet is if your SO leaks it. It isn't because of any "hacker" browsing your "Nude Pics" folder on your desktop.
"Quit giving a shit about it" is just another way of saying "Just sit there and take them imposing this upon you." You can save yourself a huge amount of annoyance too if they actually offer a service to send the dick pics to that will " take care of this" instead as well. So if they do make a service offering to contact these people when they send Dick pics, you can bet the amount of people willing to send them will greatly decrease when they know there will be consequences for doing so easily available for the people to access that they are sending them to.Redryhno said:Do you really not see the folly in this kind of push-back against it?(not that I'm pro-dick pic) You throw a rock, you get a boulder in return, you build a thousand foot wall, you get a million foot ladder. I'm all for defending yourself(which this sorta is), but c'mon, guys have been doing this kind of thing to each other for shits and giggles since before cellphones. And the best defense against it has largely been the same, quit giving a shit about it and you save yourself a huge amount of annoyance.
Step 1. Have a profile somewhere that lists yourself as female.inu-kun said:How does one get in position to be sent dick picks anyway? I guess she gets with instagram following but how most women get them?
It seems the dragon has been emasculated.I meant more that proclaiming her actions on websites as a way to stop the harrasement will result in her increasing her harrasement in the future, basically "don't wake the dragon".
Isn't there already some kind of system in place with pretty much every image sharer that you can report said images as it is? What is the point of " reporting" something if it does nothing to reduce it from happening or even make the person doing these things think twice before they do so? Yes, it IS saying just sit there and let them impose themselves on you.. Kind of like just sitting there and allowing a dog to hump your leg. Sure some people are okay with that and just ignore it and don't give a shit about it, and just say " he'll be done in a minute." while others see a problem with that...Redryhno said:Isn't there already some kind of system in place with pretty much every image sharer that you can report said images as it is? Also, "quit giving a shit about it" is exactly what it sounds like, not what you're saying. It's not "sit there and let them impose themselves on you", it's "shit is going to happen in life, get used to it and barring truly traumatic events, you'll stop noticing that it happens". Dick pics are an annoyance, yes, but you don't go doing the exact same shit people routinely throw fits about when naked pics between partners are bandied about and say "righteous" here. Don't go out of your way to be a dick just because you saw a dick.
According to my sister all they need is the ability to send private messages with pictures, if they so much as suspect your female you get the dick pics. My sister also recommends replying with comments like "aww it's so cute and small".RedRockRun said:So, hordes of men are sending random dick pics to this one woman? Methinks she's soliciting them.
Yes, that and sending a magnifying glass or telling them they should "have their physician check that out for them.." helps as well to stop the pics, but then they just swear at you.. And what is the point of going out of your way to humiliate(however warranted it may be) said asshats? To make yourself feel better? This has nothing to do with partners mutually agreeing to do something, nor are they even remotely related. Unsolicited is just that, they didn't consent to have this put upon them and someone feels entitled to think they should be able to impose this on others.
ALSO if they are reading their media at work, that can get them fired for viewing such material at work if it is against their company's policy to do so.
Wives and girlfriends, ok, because they're being informed that the guy they're seeing or married to is cheating on them (or at least trying to).Lil devils x said:...wives, girlfriends, sisters, aunts, mothers the pictures with a message that they deserve better than this.
Aww, man - and all these years, I've been completely ignoring females and NOT sending them dick picks, even though they've gone through all these steps.Something Amyss said:Step 1. Step 2. There is no step 2. This is pretty much all it takes to open shop for dick pics.
Going out of your way to ensure there are consequences for sending unwanted dick pics is to reduce it from happening and to ALSO warn those around the person doing it that this is the type of person they are dealing with. Not everyone finds it as amusing as you might.Redryhno said:And what is the point of going out of your way to humiliate(however warranted it may be) said asshats? To make yourself feel better? They are " dragging them into this" to try and make them stop imposing this on others. If everyone who thinks about doing this to people knows that if they do, their family, friends and neighbors will find out about it, maybe they wont do it in the first place? Maybe the frequency this happens will greatly reduce if they do. That is the point of it, it is to put a stop to it.Ihateregistering1 said:Wives and girlfriends, ok, because they're being informed that the guy they're seeing or married to is cheating on them (or at least trying to).Lil devils x said:...wives, girlfriends, sisters, aunts, mothers the pictures with a message that they deserve better than this.
But family members? They didn't do anything, why the hell is she dragging them into this?
This would be like if someone egged my house, and I discovered it happened to me because my neighbor stole that person's car. Why am I being punished for the actions of someone I have no choice but to know?
Whatever you say buddy. I don't find it amusing, just that there's alot more effort being put into something that you're essentially just hoping it doesn't happen again than it would be to just ignore that it happened. Why would I think guys haven't gotten unsolicited nude pics? If a girl is sending out unsolicited pictures of her vag or boobs (though still unsolicited, boobs are not a sex organ) I see no reason for them to be treated any different than these guys. I don't think anyone even remotely suggested they be treated any different.Redryhno said:Whatever you say buddy.
