So they do intend to retcon previously straight characters into bisexuals.Lame Bioware.very lame.
And what's so bad about that? That means there are romance options for all players...

I honestly do not see how that is bad thing...

It pays to be loyal. :p
Didn't pursue a relationship in 1, and hit it off with Jack in 2. No quarrels for me. Though, if Miranda doesn't get off Jack's back she is going out the airlock. >_>

Aint this actually old news? (xcept for the no new romance part, that surprised me).
You mean, what the whole article is about, as kinda, sorta, totally subtly indicated by the title and what not? :p

OT: Not bothered, but one big question - is that Shepherd in the right on the pic? Female Shepherd? Female Shepherd with LONG HAIR?! A little too late, ya bastards, I love the Shepherd I got now, but where the heck was that option in ME2? :<

edit: Now that I look at it again, thanks to the small pic/crappy lighting, might just be a part of the armor I'm looking at. Still, that girl on the right looks quite young too.

I'm going to take this news in positive fashion and hope for an Ashley Miranda sandwich ;)

Well, seems fair enough. I mean this IS the end of the trilogy, by this point they shouldn't be adding in new characters, they should be fleshing out the ones they already had.
The last thing Mass Effect 3 needs is eight more romances that last about five minutes in total dialogue each to distract from any potential character development from the cast we already have.

Frankly there's already:
Ashley
Kaidan
Miranda
Jacob
Tali
Garrus
Jack
Thane
Samara(?)
Kelly
And Liara.

What I'm saying is, if you haven't found your pick from the collection so far, you probably never will. There are over ten now, I think that's enough. I'd rather see work go into seeing them all get decent characterization and depth added to them then I would see another additional group join up and hog the spotlight.

I want to see a fully fleshed out reuinion and rekindling of the old spark that was once in the relationship between Commander Vrex Shepard and Ashley Williams. I want to see it develop in a well done and believable way, as they go from distanced to close again and return back to being lovers once more.
The kind of thing that could make the end of the trilogy have some real emotional weight.

(I might even like to see where the relationship between my other Shepard and Jack might go)

So yeah, I'm quite on board with this idea. I apologize to any newcomers who might feel like they are missing the whole story but this is my honest opinion of the whole situation.

That works....if you played Mass effect 1 and 2. Might lose the effect if someone decided to skip directly to Mass effect 3.

Other than that, it looks promising if people doesn't do another Metacritic bomb because of 1 or 2 details.
Who skips to the end of a trilogy? And anyone who does can't take issue with "missing" the story.
-People who are cheap.
-People who thinks that the last version must have the better gameplay.
-People who assumes that the backstory will be explained to them.
-People who didn't finish the 1rst or 2nd but want to give the 3rd a shot.
-In the case of the PS3, I don't think the betrayals work (unless they give you an option in the Mass effect 2. I haven't played that version).

Must I go on?
I wouldn't consider any of those particularly good reasons. It just seems like a way to set yourself up for a bad experience and wasted cash.

"Does anyone else have the urge to romance Ashley and Jack, just to see the fireworks when they meet?"

One of my Shepards did exactly that. ;)

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: an epic catfight for the ages.
I'd be more scared of Mass Effect 2 Liara than Ashley. She really toughened up.

Most of the people who skipped 1 and 2 are a minority. I didn't mentionned every possible reasons for the "skippage to 3". Setting yourself up for bad experiences and wasted cash is one of those things that proves we don't live in a perfect world with cookies, no war and no Uwe Boll movies.

I dunno, I consider Uwe Boll to be like Hitler. If you erased him would it make things better in the long run?

Liara and Tali are going to have a bit of an awkward moment for sure.

But to be fair i've always wanted to be with Tali, even in the first one. But that wasn't an option D:<

and for the first time in the Mass Effect series, i did not even bother trying to flirt with all the available love interest, ie play the field, like i did in ME1. I just straight up hated the stuck up ***** that was Miranda, and turn offed by the ugly tomboy Jack.

Was so happy they decide to keep Tali's face a secret ♥ (o dear god i hope they continue this. remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so please don't Bioware, PLEASE DON'T RUIN THE MYSTERY!)
They said they have been working on designs for the Quarian face. Doesn't sound like it will remain a mystery to me. I won't be disappointed, no matter what. She is meant to be alien, after all.

I would love to have Miranda vs. Ashley and dump them both at once.

If Ash randomly decides to jump my FemShep's bones since she broke up with Liara, that certainly will be interesting.

super sad face at this news :(

yes i agree they are suppose to be alien, and i even like the whole reverse knee thing the Quarians sport, but the fact they are behind them masks makes them special to me in that mysterious kind of way. sigh, time to go to my corner and lament this some more.
