Its hilarious that they act all high and mighty about these mainstream games N stuff when they have NO IDEA how bad other things can be, compared to Certain-Things-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named Black ops is positively Tame.

Besides if they're trying to turn me against Castro, they're doing a bad job. he may be a Dangerous Dictator, but the guy has Style.
If by Dangerous Dictator you mean Person-Who-Wanted-The-Best-For-His-Country-And-Not-US-Companies, then I agree. He was actually not even a communist, untill the US blocked forced Cuba to do buisness with the USSR. The USSR made certain demands, and here we are...

Wow, I know controversies are a dime a dozen, but could they stop pretending that they are not trying to under-mind freedom of expression or speech? This neophobic bull is really old now people.

Cuba: the asshole of the world. If Call of Duty counts as pornography, I'd hate to see what they have for real porno in Cuba. Also, that Alliance group is full of B.S..

It's rated M for mature.
No child is meant to be playing that game unless the parents allow it.

Besides, how can assassinating Fidel Castro be pornography? Do the people at the Alliance for Global Justice (which sounds like a superhero league, by the way) have some kind of strange fetishes?

What? So the US government is allowed to actually order several attempts on Castro's life, but if you try and document that in a video game, it becomes wrong?

Games AREN'T REAL. We know this to be true. On the other hand, the US government did try to assassinate Castro on more then one occasion. I'm sure the Bay of Pigs invasion has been featured in many movies and books, why can't it be in a game?

Hmm.. It's pornography cause you f*ck them with your bullets.. Wait, that's just.. I'm sorry I have no idea how they manage to rationalize that. Especially when they didn't have the same outcry for God of War 3...

I'd love to see a game get made where you get to kill American Presidents...

Then we'd REALLY see if people thought it was 'just a game'
I'd pay to put a bullet in the British Prime Minister.

Dealing it to children? No. I am and look older than 18, but I still had to show my ID just to buy this.

Seriously though, is it that hard to regulate what you get your children? If you do not want them to play something like this, don't get it.

Also, killing Castro? That's the kind of thing you expect from a game with Black Ops in the title. Can't really see why anyone was surprised by that...

First, I'd like to note that the U.S. really has no reason to apologize for hating Fidel Castro. Technically he DID just conquer Cuba, which was (And technically still is) U.S. territory. It's like the Italians objecting a game where you assassinate Mussolini.

Back to my original thought..... YAY THEY'RE GETTING RID OF THE NEW CALL OF DUTY!!!! Oooooooh, you guys are in toooooouble, just wait till big brother comes in and spanks your collective assi!
But really, isn't this thread exactly what the developers were trying to do? I mean, I'm considering buying the game just because it may go out of print and a mint condition copy could go for a lot. Anyways, when you taunt a bear, getting bit IS NOT a surprising outcome (but it sure is funny to look at your shocked expression while you dumbly repeat "He bit me!")

"Glorying the Assassination of Living World Leaders is Just WRONG!"

What? Should we wait for him to be dead and then you're fine with the game? Or shall we take care of that 'living' bit first? ;P

I'm just curious as to what their definition of pornography is, because its clearly very different to what I understand from the word

After reading the article and most of the posts here, I think I will go and pick up a copy of Black Ops. At first I was going to just wait on the game, but now hearing all this boycott nonsense has actually pushed me to getting the game and seeing everything for myself. Hell, its the exact same reason I got the original Mass Effect; I heard of all the alleged scandal and had to see it first hand, and I am glad I did because it was a spectacular game.
When will these silly activists and groups learn that their efforts usually work against them?

You know he was trying to persuade Russia to nuke America, right? Then there was the whole Cuba Missile Crisis thing...

But to be honest, especially when it comes to Latin America, leaders are always in the grey area. Even El Che, a celebrated freedom fighter and one of the most influential revolutionaries of the 20th century was known to execute his own soldiers personally if they retreated.

Case in point - Castro may have done some very good things, but he did some extremely bad things to do them.

Just thought I'd send them an email.

"Just wanted to say I totally Agree with you on your policy to tell parents not to buy this game.
But I think you need to re-word your article slightly. The game is focused at 18+ Buyers and is shouldn't be sold to children in the first place. Infact the only way they could get the game is if they're parents already bought it for them...
So instead a better tact would be to to go after the retarded parents how got this game for their spoilt kids in the first place?
More importantly I think you should also take the time to play the game a little, Because if you did you would realise it is not a "Role Playing Game" it is a shooter, calling it so only makes you look like knobs and hurts your credibility.
Obviously however you are knobs because you are calling this game Pornography, which implies that it lacks any value as a whole. And if you took the time to play the game you may understand that it is a brutal fictionalisation of the events of a cold war operatives in a non conventional manner. Making certain violent events necessary to the story telling of the game.
Hopefully if you change your article so you no longer look like foolish, idiotic and overall moronic sensationalist and can achieve the goal I'm sure we're all striving towards together.
Getting those Bloody annoying kids off my precious multiplayer!!!"

Though I disagree with taking the game of the shelves, that's censorship.
But seriously that whole game is just the American's jerking off on our face.
All throughout the story it's just them demonising Russia and communique for shit they've done to an even worse degree!
For example: [sarcasm]
Oh noes the Vietcong are shooting civies?=o we've never done that
The Russians hired Nazis who did horrific things to other humans?=O We didn't do that...
The Russians tested weapons an other crazy shit on their own people?=O we never did that
/sarcasm

Yeah...

Look at the Alliance for Global Justice website. They're a radical anti-American group. Look at this from their "About" page:

"We envision societies which explore and implement alternatives to the unjust domination of governments, global financial institutions and multinational corporations which denigrate the world?s peoples and devastate ecosystems. "

Of course it just happens that all the bad corporations are American. All the bad banks are American. All the evil eco-rapists are American. Etc.
