That's fucked up, mate. I hope you don't see "tough-guy" and "wise-ass" as being the only options...neither is all that likable.VeneratedWulfen93 said:For your point on the whole wimpy and moany. Its yes and no. I'm a wimp as expected of a geek and so would rather be a smart ass and get punched in the face than actually fight someone. However I rarely moan about anything. The last 3 things I moaned about extensively were, in order of most recent: This (I kept it bottled up for a long time), The new Necron codex (That shit just ain't funny) and the sawn off in Gears 3 (Worst weapon idea ever). Otherwise it normally takes alot to get under my skin, I was bullied for most of my school life and so just kinda put up with it. Physical abuse and such i can handle, having my passion for games questioned because of my system I guess I can't.Sexual Harassment Panda said:What software are you talking about?chinangel said:having read through (and responded to) a few posts, I'm going to add my two cents.
the PC gamers we have on here are, for the most part, a bunch of jerks.
The thing is that some people don't have the time and money to sink into a PC, and it isn't just the PC itself but all the other software that comes with it quickly makes teh damn thing very very expensive.
you build your PC for...oh...let's say around 700 dollars. Then add on top the different programs you need to buy to help it run or stay protected: and at least some of them are going to have monthly fee's that go along with it.
Congratulations! You are already 3 times more expensive then my console, and I haven't even bought a game yet.
Then you ahve the problem of people hacking your PC, the various viruses and bugs that come along with it and the general unpleasantness of the PC community.
And the funny thing is about this whole discussion is that half of the PC gamers on here are proving the OP's point: PC Gamers are Elitists.
I do not care how powerful your system is, I do not care how pretty your graphics are, I do not care about your PC exclusives and I do not care about your complaining about the inferior ports.
Someone I care about has offered to buy me a PC for gaming and I have reluctantly agreed, it's simply so we can play Guild Wars II together and that's it really.
But even when I get that, I'm still going to be a console gamer. Because it's fun, because it's simple and because I frankly couldn't care less about PC gaming.
If you're happy up in your ivory tower PC gamers, then fine: I'm happy for you. Stay up there.
You gotta buy windows, but nothing really after that. The anti-virus software that is free does a perfectly good job.
Hacking, bugs and viruses - That's a computer problem, not a gaming problem...and it's not at all likely to be a problem at all so long as you're responsible on the internet. PSN getting hacked was more worrying to me than anything that's happened on a pc.
"Unpleasantness of the community" - Well I guess there's subjectivity at play here. My own personal experience is that I basically make a friend everytime I load up CS:GO, whereas when I played 360 online I got called a "******" alot... Your post makes you sound like you have no experience of gaming on PC's anyway...so you're just guessing, right?
Lastly. Aha ha ha..."ivory tower". Try not to stare at the beauty of the ivory-tower, it might cause you to fall off of your high-horse.
I gotta ask. Are the people who are bothered by this kind of thing as wimpy and moany in their day-to-day lives as they are on the internet? It must be hell going through life with such thin skin.
Also, I looked at your profile... Happy birthday!
