I have more fun with the Console experience. I have given PC plenty of tries, and use it on occasion, but its just generally not as fun to me.

Because I think that by buying consoles you're becoming ***** for Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo

Still there were some good things consoles did
1.Improved software- because resources was needed to make games bigger and prettier, developers struggled to find the ways to make games consuming less hardware (since hardware stayed the same)
2.Increased gaming community- because of plug'n'play philosophy consoles have, it is easier for less techno-savvy people to get into gaming (even if it attracts these retards)
And while consoles did also a lots of bad things, I think these two good things have same weight as the evil deeds.
P.S. Crap, I just remembered that I pulled out my Sega Genesis year ago to play Dune2 and Comix Zone. Dammit, a decade long console-free reputation ruined by nostalgia trip
P.P.S. The guilt and shame is overwhelming. Ladies and gentlemen it was nice to know you. Now I'm going to go and commit suicide by watching Transformers trilogy non-stop.

It's even worse when entire threads are devoted to this sort of thing. On any given day, if you glance around the forum topics, you'll find at least a few "hate" threads. Threads titled something like, "Why do people like Game-X" or "Game-Y. I don't get it." or "This game sucks and you're wrong for liking it." (and at least one of those threads will be about Half-Life, Valve, EA, Call of Duty, Halo, or the like)
What's more, you also get a plethora of threads wherein the OP, and many other commentors, complain about people always talking about one game or another. The irony being, the only ones still bringing up the topic are those complaining.
Gaming has always been full of angry, childish pricks who love to belittle others, complain about any damn thing, and generally act foolish. However, as gaming becomes more popular and more "accepted" by the general public, the "haters" become more numerous and more vitriolic.
At least, that's how it seems to me. :/

As a PC (pfft) gamer my laptop just about runs games I want to play, I'm by no means apart of the top echelon of players who mod out their PC to be cooled by their fridge but I still have those options available to me.
PC gaming isn't as inaccessible as people believe it is to be, you should really look into it if you are that sick of it.
There is nothing stopping you from having a pc that is just as "crappy specced" as an xbox and playing all the lovely games you would have done but with mods and stuff.

I just see how far games and their most-visible fans are from being publicly presentable and worthy of respect, that it irritates me. There are things that games can do as a story-telling medium that would elevate them to truly artistic masterpieces. But the prevailing culture within the games industry is based around this immature my-stuff-is-better-than your-stuff mentality, among others (like the male power-fantasy and the "its gotta be fun at all cost" crutch) and it feeds into the games themselves, holding them back.

Let's take piracy off the table real quick, though when you speak of freedom the ability to pirate things is a good sticking point. While $10 dollars doesn't seem like that much when we look at bigger deals on even mildly older games it becomes insane. Earlier this year I purchased the whole Grand Theft Auto Collection off of Steam for $12. Twelve. Fucking. Dollars. That collection goes from the original top down, through two, three, vice city, San Andreas, and 4 complete with expansions.
Right now if I walked into a GameStop and wanted to buy Grand Theft Auto 4 Complete for 360, even after it's been out for so long, I'd STILL have to pay $30 dollars, more than double the price for a fraction of the content. I bet if I wait sometime this year I'll be able to grab Dishonored for 20 bucks, and I'm also willing to bet that it won't be that cheap on 360 for a couple years.
Accessories are the same, though less for Sony as they were nice and implemented Bluetooth so you can buy off brand.
Thing is, I wouldn't mind if you weren't defending the 360. If you don't see how the 360 is a blight on the games industry then you clearly aren't as deep in the scene as you think you are. You may spend a lot of time in the scene, but spending a lot of time at a hospital doesn't make a doctor

Seriously though, i left the super race because i couldn't find many games where the leaderboards weren't straight cheated highscores...that and plenty of games just don't fucking work without bodges and fixes. The costs are substantial and the rewards are limited...nah, still not interested in going back.
