I cliked this post with the intent to say "Box art doesn't really matter" but..... thats just bad.... I'll still get the game obviously but I could make a better box art than that!

Something's off with it. I can't put my finger on it, but it might be the colors. It looks more like a screenshot then box art for a game.
Not only the colours, but the overall dynamics of the image. The figures are crammed together, making an ugly jumble, and their poses look a bit awkward. Shepard himself looks like his rifle but is in his armpit, possibly just to fit in the gun. They really should have worked on spacing it out more.

They have just written "MASS EFFECT 2" onto cardboard boxes, it would been more attractive than this.

Cool people doing cool things... kinda bland. I intend to buy the game, regardless, however I expected more from you Bioware. The boxart for Dragon Age was awesome... I guess I'll have to go with the collector's edition if I want something to frame.

For some reason that Box Art reminds me of the BA for that xbox flying game, Crimson Skies. Now i f you want good BA look at L4D or MW2. I still pop a boner whenever I see that bad-ass standing there on the cover of MW2.

They said this was meant to be like the Wild West part of the game, so that's probably why they're all doing generic "tough guy" poses like they're on the cover for an action movie.

While it's no Orange Box, it's pretty shit.
Bargain bin fodder... if I worked in a shop and didn't know that 5 of the greatest games of all time were inside that orange monstrosity I'd hide it behind Dead Space.

The Boxart seem too generic, as in, most US boxes have too many faces on them, and that scares me.

AHHHHHHHHH
It's like "The Sims: Guess Who Edition"

Uh anyway yeah the normal box art is extremely generic but the collector's edition is just...wow.

...I think this is the first time I ever wanted a collector's edition just because of what the box art looked like.

I agree with you. Of course, anyone who spends sixty dollars on something based on the box art is an idiot. I think this art would appeal pretty well to idiots. So maybe Bioware is making a more strategic move than you realize?

You're going to be petty and complain about the box art, as if it will have any impact on your eventual enjoyment of it.

That was actually ugly box art.

But... yeah...
That box art... is awesome! I love it because I love odd looking design choices. That picture alone has more curious about the game itself. XD

I actually kinda like it. Reminds me of the old poster art for the cinematic releases of Star Wars episodes IV-VI,.. and Spaceballs...

I like it...but that's a good point. It's not terribly epic or full of grandeur. Some makings of a movie poster there actually.

Here's a REALLY bad one.

Or how about these two?

Now HERE is bad box art... seriously, no joke. Then again, nearly all of the Master System game boxes were like this.
