Mass Effect 2 Box Art Fails to Impress

That girl reminds me of the actor in NBC's Chuck, maybe its just me. This isn't generic! The main character with a gun in one hand looking down at the ground while he's in a shadow. This box art makes me feel like its saying this, "HEY YOU! Buy this game!" since its so up close in their faces

The Collector's Edition looks so much better.

They could be trying to entice people with almost false marketing. They know that people who bought Mass Effect 1 are likely to buy Mass Effect 2, so they have to widen their pool, and what better way to do that than mislead people into thinking they're buying a Halo/GoW style game? It won't matter to them if people buy it and never oplay it because they will still have all that lovely money, and anyone who buys it for the misleading boxart and likes it is more likely to purchase ME1 and then ME3.

It could be an extremely clever marketing strategy, rather than a generic one.

Clever. I bet the big wigs at Bioware are all sitting at a round table in a dark room lit by spotlights laughing. You may be on to something.

Looks to me like they couldn't be bothered to hire anyone with any sort of skill to create it. It's easy, just photoshop some concept art together and you save bucketloads of money that would have been spent on actually TRYING to get some decent box art..

I don't think it's confirmed, but it's pretty certain that Yvonne Strahovski is voicing that character ( http://meforums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html?topic=707026&forum=144 ). Makes me wonder if this will be the first RPG I've played with an Aussie character.

Also Adam Baldwin in there too. Awesome.

Honestly, they could put 2Girls1Cup on it and I'd buy it. You're not paying $50+ to stare at the box, ladies and gents. No, it's not terribly inspired, but if you must have a shiny pretty box, do yourself a favor and fork out a tenner for the collector's edition. That one looks sweet.

Can't wait to do the girl, oh wait this is bioware with it's unrealistic and unreveling sex scenes that always disapoint...

Mate, it's a Bioware RPG. Please, enjoy the story and don't gripe about the sex. Is that really all you're here for?

Come on. It's a game in which things explode in space, yet I see a suspicious lack of explosions or spaceships. You have everything you need for a good cover right in the source material.
