I want it to be good, I really REALLY do but...god damn it, it's being made by the same people who green lighted the star child.
Yeah well, the ending to Mass Effect 3 was the biggest fuck up in terms of ending a good series, so the way I see it it balances out.RaikuFA said:True, but I still call RME the biggest mess in consumer rights in the games industry.Blachman201 said:Yeah, there were some confusion about that. But the extend it happened to seems to have been grossly exaggerated. Bottomline was that $80k was donated to sick children. It is rather hard to vilify that.RaikuFA said:Hey, remember when you guys demanded charity money back when it turned out it wouldn't affect the ending?
I do. And it made me sad.

Not really. Yeah the ending was bad but it still dosen't excuse death threats, rape threats and demanding dontations back.erttheking said:Yeah well, the ending to Mass Effect 3 was the biggest fuck up in terms of ending a good series, so the way I see it it balances out.RaikuFA said:True, but I still call RME the biggest mess in consumer rights in the games industry.Blachman201 said:Yeah, there were some confusion about that. Death threats rape threats? Ok, pretty sure that you're exaggerating. Not everyone did that you know, even then it was only because of confusion and 80K still went to kids.RaikuFA said:Not really. The cupcakes thing though... Keep it up.
Yep, this is pretty much exactly what I have against the RME movement. The belief that anyone not in agreement with their viewpoint is not relevant. The assumption that only people who aren't paying attention could have a differing opinion.samaugsch said:(personally, I doubt that those who say they liked the ending actually gave a shit about the franchise at all)

I guess it would be more accurate to say that the story doesn't matter as much to you as some people (maybe it's better that way). From what I've heard, according to the lore, pretty much everyone gets screwed over... wait. Something just occured to me. Maybe the idea isn't so much to allow the different races in ME continue to exist as it is to allow whatever races that will exist in the future to do so (apparently, the Mass Relays will strand everyone in Earth's solar system, killing everyone there due to starvation). Basically, in the short term, things will seem pretty ugly, while in the long term, future races thousands of years in the future won't have to worry about synthetic/organic abominations attempting to exterminate them all. So I guess all that's left is the inconsistency of the endings. ^^Zenoss said:Yep, this is pretty much exactly what I have against the RME movement. I played ME1 and 2 repeatedly to experience the paragon and renegade stories. I went through the whole series again in the lead up to ME3 in order to have the perfect save going in to the new game. Each playthrough was completed to 100%.
And when ME3 came out, I did the same thing. I played all the way through, to 100%, as paragon and renegade, and I was happy with the whole game. Start to finish. It is easily one of the best games I have ever played.
So I'm glad that this dlc is going to be just an extension rather than a re-write. I'd be pretty irritated if what I experienced turned out to be all a crazy dream or some crap like that. It would pretty much destroy the validity of the whole series if it could be changed on a whim.

EDIT:
"Takes deep breath" ok, when I think about it it's not TOO bad, but it still seems rather weird and makes me feel uneasy. Why are they just leaving the crucible open to enemy fire? Why are they clearing away from it? It just makes me nervous about what is to come.
Still going to involve the holo child and 3 choices? DOES NOT IMPROVE MY IDEA OF A GOOD ENDING. I played through ME3 1 time. I don't think I'll even pay this DLC any attention. SO much disappointment.New DLC pack "expands on the meaning of the original endings" of Mass Effect 3.

To be fair in the grand scheme of the ending, that detail is pretty small.Vault101 said:I'm not angry at you but...erttheking said:Crap sorry. I removed it, please remove the section where I talk about it,

I'd have to disagree, in the sense that when the endings were leaked a second time, people said "now now, maybe it will make sense in context!". The rest is known. Now, in the case of this pic...erttheking said:To be fair in the grand scheme of the ending, that detail is pretty small.Vault101 said:I'm not angry at you but...erttheking said:Crap sorry.
