I guess Jack just took refuge in audacity.
To be fair I don't think most people had a problem that she was overly sexualised just that she looked like she should be in a gym. She looks silly and her clothing has no relation to her character.

Well, I'm still excited for it. I've done my share of bitching, but that's because most of the current ME related threads are ***** fests. And I have had my faith in the ME series shakened a bit, as I found two, in retrospect, to be somewhat of a disappointment, though a really good game in its own right.
It just didn't match the first one for me, or my expectations for what a sequel would be like. I'm still getting the third one, and though I don't expect it to be better than the first one either, if it's as good as or better than the second, I'll be satisfied.

And, yeah I'll admit I was at first reluctant to have multiplayer, but it's completely optional. The main reason I didn't want ME3 to have it was because it just furthers the idea that every single game must have multiplayer, something I really don't believe. But yeah, the execution looks pretty good, and though it's not my thing I can easily see it being other people's thing.

And, as for the switchable game modes, I personally think it's mostly a good thing. It allows people to get what they want out of the game, that being said I still do think it's a bit silly to try to hook people into your trilogy in the third installment. But it makes sense from a prospective business point.

Those are my two biggest gripes and they don't even bother me all that much, and whenever I complain about them you can be sure that's it's usually overplayed.
Those are my personal thoughts on the matter.

I think the people on the internet who hate on ME3 (which hasn't come out yet, so if you say it's bad without having even having PLAYED the damned thing you're a presumptuous bag of dildos in the first place) are mostly a very vocal minority who DESPERATELY miss melting obsolete pistols down into Omni-Gel because they feel there must be a set amount of filling out spreadsheets in an RPG to make it a good RPG (rather than just, you know, a Game where you Play a Role).

In real people land, at least here in the American southeast part of real people land, everyone I've come across is so happy about the prospect of getting back in their Space Shoes and having fantastic Space Adventures with their imaginary Space Friends. that they think they might burst. I know full grown men who are upset about the timing of their first baby's birth coinciding with ME3's release, not because of shooting guns and upgrading stats, but because they actually care about the characters and want to continue their relationship with Liara, see if Thane lives until the end of the war, or find out what a Lady-Krogen looks like.

The way I see it, if you're bitching about the RPG elements or the multiplayer or tanktops or whatever, you have missed the main appeal of Mass Effect ENTIRELY.

I really don't care too much about the freaky looking women they have in tank tops. I have a lot of other issues to dislike Mass Effect 3...most of which relate to EA and not Bioware.
That's the thing.
Personally, I never even got around to finishing ME1 or DAO so this isn't exactly on my radar but if it was, the online pass would deter me from buying it. I assume that's why there's suddenly an online mode: EA has to shoehorn online pass into every game now don't they?

I WAS excited about Starhawk (was planning on buying it new at launch just because I've played Warhawk so damn much) and I probably wont be buying it because Sony seems to be doing the same thing: putting online pass into every single game.

Also, I don't know the details of the dlc but I remember DAO having pre-order "bonus" game content and that's really shitty too. In game items & outfits are cool for pre-order bonus but when they start using actual gameplay content as an ultimatum, they can go fuck themselves because that's the kind of thing that makes me NOT want to buy it...just on principle.

I don't even buy used anymore.

It'll require Origin. So it's not over reacting.
This has nothing to do with the quality of the game or Bioware.

You seen that retarded kinect shit? Yeah, not over reacting.
You know, this might come as a surprise, but did you know that using the Kinect is optional? And that some people might actually enjoy it, and everyone else will be completely unaffected?

I am just concerned that they will fuck up the conclusion some how. This trilogy REALLY needs a good ending! D:

Also, I am more concerned about Bioware post ME3. Lair of the Shadowbroker is a good example of the kind of quality to expect out of ME3 imo.

Even if you wiped the example of DA2 off the map, I probably wouldn't have purchased ME3 simply because of the shrinking trend its predecessor exhibited. While light years apart from DA2, ME2 felt very trivial in the grand scheme of things and completely marginalized the Reaper threat. Seeing the first trailer for ME3 and Shepard fighting Reapers from the back of a moving train pretty much quashed any lingering desire I had to play through the final installment. I'll catch the pretty bits on YouTube.

You know when Bioware said the low meta-critic scores were at least partly blamed on 4chan they weren't full of shit right? Those dudes have actual smear threads dedicated to the Old Republic right now. It's not enough to dislike a game. They've got to make youtube videos, troll forums, write bad amazon reviews, write bad metacritic reviews, deface wiki pages and harass people in game.

Yeah people are over-reacting and they look like a bunch of four year olds holding their breath till they get attention.

Myself I'm sick of the blind Bioware hate. There are certainly logical things you can choose to dislike about decisions Bioware has made in games and I'm all about discussion of those things but you can't discuss with zealots and that goes for both pro and anti bioware people.

About the sexualization, it's kind of sad that they've gone from mature, reasonable character designs (in the first game) to something that shamelessly caters to the lowest common denominator. My beef is specifically with what they did with Ashley in ME3, because her redesign goes entirely against her established character. She was supposed to be tough and tomboyish and now they've given her an impractical hairstyle, inflated boobs and a catsuit just because she has to be the generic female human love interest? Yeah, it's not the biggest deal but it's still pretty dumb.

Shhhh, you'll expose the flaw in their logic. Also someone CANNOT be conventionally appealing and smart. This would go against everything nerd self victimising has taught them to accept this.

(So many ME threads. Did I miss a memo or something?)

Encountering people who don't like things you like is an inevitable part of internet gaming forums. They will run the gamut from legitimate complaints to nitpickers to blind haters.

Posting stuff like this doesn't convince anyone, gives those same people another place to complain and makes you look like a sore fanboy. It's like watching that "leave Brittany alone" guy on youtube.

Basically, deal with it.

Yeah I forgot, this is the escapist, actually liking things that are mainstream and trying to come up with reasons as to why people are freaking out over nothing paints you a fanboy on this site. I should be mindlessly bashing things and saying that Valve is the only game developer that hasn't sold their soul for cash. Silly me. I forgot.
