In a perverse way, I agree with her but I'm getting tired of criticism (most of which is justified, imo) being ignored as just hateration or hollaration just because it made money. Craps throughout history has made more money than anything of actually value, the music industry is proof of that.
As time goes on and tastes and standards change you realize just how rubbish it all was and ridicule it (thatguywiththeglassess is dedicated to that alone) but by then it's too late because the makers have already profited from it, which is where she is right and what Bob was getting at a while back, people maybe not you or me but the rest will make the tripe they make acceptable.

The guys that watch this stuff are the problem.

Megan Fox, you're doing it wrong. Doing it for the art does not mean... telling people to fuck themselves over in an alley because they don't like your bad performance in a bad movie is not how you establish yourself as a dedicated actor.

And people wonder why I have severe anger issues.

Yes, TF4 made money. Give yourself a star. But that's only due to China footing most of that profit. When your country is starving for entertainment, a turd inside two pieces of bread would be appetizing.

Second, why the fuck are you defending that movie? You were not in it! Last I checked, your spoiled **** attitude cost that particular meal ticket when you whined about the director being a slave master. Yes, you're starring in a movie he produced. As for why you got picked for the role, I'd chalk that up to your fellatio skills than your acting talent, sweetheart.

Finally, bashing potential moviegoers is not a brilliant way to promote your film. Especially when early word of mouth is saying this is gonna be a major stinker.

I think that people should go see the movie before passing judgement like they do on the internet despite how terrible it looks. The same kind of crap happened with the Devil May Cry reboot, which I thought turned out pretty good.

The use of the word "hater" comes off as dismissive and, in a lot of cases, will make people ignore some of the genuine criticisms of the film.

That being said, I have a very strong feeling that this movie will end up being pretty bad, but make decent money. Pretty much any movie with Megan Fox ends up like that. I'm almost certain she only gets work because some people apparently her attractive, which I don't get at all, since she's absolutely terrible. She is easily one of the least attractive "actresses" I think think of. I would have much preferred Deborah Ann Woll play O'Neil than anyone.

If nothing else her hair is right color. What she's saying is kind of self-defeating. It boils down to -- I don't care about your opinion, so f--- off... Which is EXACTLY what everyone who disagrees with her is thinking. What- like she thinks she's going to change anyone's mind (other than hack film-maker's) about anything?

Also, this is a most likely kid's movie. And I don't mean that in the way that it's a movie that all age groups - including kids - would enjoy, like How to Train Your Dragon or something. From everything I've seen on previews it SEEMS specifically aimed at early teens (from what dialogue I've heard, and little comedy bits in previews - that's the only conclusion I can come up with). And THIS is her PR move to defend it. She isn't very... aware. But whatever, this will probably make its money; the target audience will like it; and maybe the studio will use some of the profit to make a good movie later on. It just pains me that this is a thing dispite most of the world not caring and some of the world actively despising it - whilst Guillermo Del Toro gets snubbed by studios when he shops a Hell Boy 3 idea. Hollywood is weird place.

There's no hate when it comes to constructive criticism. True, I haven't seen the movie. But between what has been shown and a few PR fumbles, this will be an objectively terrible film.

And even if it was a decent film, there's no way I could possibly enjoy it. Fox's dinner theater acting and the CGI designs are such a distraction, anything worthwhile would be buried under a metric fuck ton of crap. The Turtles look like the product of Shrek and Fiona going to a key party hosted by the Garbage Pail Kids.

I'm going to see the new Turtles movie, mainly for nostalgia purposes and because friends will drag me to see it. With my low expectations, I might be pleasantly surprised.

And yes, Megan Fox has somewhat of a point: There's no way you can please everyone, so no point worrying about everyone and their opinions. But she seems to take this attitude that as long as the product makes a shit-ton of money, then the dolla dolla bills y'all validates its own argument. Guardians of the Galaxy, Winter Soldier, and the Dark Knight trilogy have recently made a shit-ton of money as well, with it having a largely positive rating among consumers and critics alike. I'm sure the head honchos behind those productions didn't go in with a "fuck it, it'll make money anyway" attitude, they legitimately wanted to make a good film, and it happened to make a lot of money in the process. Popular franchises leads to more roles for the stars of the flick, which is why Ms. Fox SHOULD care about the criticism; word of mouth does play a huge role in a film's success. The new Turtles flick will make a lot of money mainly because of marketing, kids, and nostalgic adults with varying expectations, but if everyone ends up hating the flick, you'll see a lot less ticket sales when the sequel comes around.

She might not have noticed that Transformers 1 was favored among ticket-goers (86% on Rotten Tomatoes) which bought her another role in the sequel that fans looked forward to, which was universally shit on after release. After that train wreck, and the early word that T3 was terrible as well, the third movie went on to make $50 million less than its predecessor. Word of Mouth? I think so.

Fox I couldn't care less about but her little comment does make me appreciate the professionalism most other actresses would show in her place. Right or not she is talking about paying customers here and in most businesses her comment would send her straight to the unemployment line. Fortunately for her she can get away with it thanks to her looks/friends in the right places, all I can really say on that front is must be nice.

Movie wise, eh......I'll wait on the reviews, although something tells me I'll probably get dragged to it regardless.

She has a point seriously if you were mocked like this on your job you'd want to say that too. And seriously fuck all the people saying this isn't classy. Who gives a shit? Let the damn movie come out either watch it or don't then move on. It doesnt matter if you think she's a shitty actor, she's got the part so suck it the hell up

Professionalism? Seriously? If it was a man doing it, it would cool and no one would care but because she's a women she has to show professinalism. Seriously has anybody watched other actors, particularly male ones? Some of them are assholes. Do we give them shit? No.

I support her attitude at least. I have no interest in this movie whatsoever, but what is the point of hating it? What difference does the existence of this movie have in your life? Let people have their fun with it. It shouldn't bother you.
What difference does the existence of fiction-hate have in Fox's life? Let people have their criticism of it. It shouldn't bother her.

Haters of haters have to sink low to throw mud back at the mudslingers. Just consider that one group is criticizing art while the other is criticizing criticism of art. It's like telling a movie critic to either enjoy the film or ignore it because they don't have to like everything.

It would go a long way for society when people stop being so insecure over criticism and learn that, no matter what, you can't make everyone happy. Movie makers and actors will make money and have their fun, so slapping fans and basically telling them they are sheep that will go see the movie anyway is basically the most greedy, stuck-up, bitchy thing she could've possibly said.

If Fox was a guy I would call her/him out on it too, doesn't change the fact that s/he should act like a professional to people that's lining their pockets. Why are other people willing to do otherwise I have no idea but I'm not one of them.

While Fox is busy wishing she'd star in a Sailor Moon action movie...
0_0 Oh GOD.

That's...I...Wow. Just...Wow. That...just does not compute. Man...Can you IMAGINE if Michael Bay did that movie? I haven't been a fan since I was 8 and I find that upsetting! XD

...BRB, going to share that fact on facebook to my friends who actually like sailor moon.

Why did she use a specific example of a movie she wasn't in? She should have used Transformers 2 as the example since that's the last Michael Bay movie she was in.

On the one hand, I really do not like Megan Fox. On the other hand, I'm kind of glad someone is telling the hypocrites in the mewling masses to fuck off. On the other other hand, I don't like that she's basically legitimizing them when the status quo up to this point was just to pretend that they mattered rather than actually acknowledging them. Or is she? Hm, maybe she is a really good actress.

I can appreciate what she's saying and even concede that she has a point, it's how she said it that I have a problem with. Outright telling the "haters" to "fuck off" is not exactly very classy esp. in a public interview nor is it good for the films PR. Maybe I'm just old fashioned and used to a world were people had social filters. I don't know.

How is she still getting work again, and why should we care about what she has to say on the matter? And why the hell does Fox want HER of all people to star in a sailor moon movie?
You ever notice how her face is in that same face that looks like she got done shooting porn? It's just so static... it's fine for modeling, but...come on man, how is this attractive?

I was a fan of TMNT, but I have no intention of going to see this in the theater. I will rent it for a buck someday or something. Megan Fox is as suitable for the role as any other actress as far as this movie is concerned. She is a pair of tits and a voice and that is all that is needed; the April O'Neil character in this movie is about as deep and meaningful as Fox is a talented and classy actress. She seems a bit thin skinned in the face of criticism so perhaps some (more?) plastic surgery is needed.

What surprises me is the voice cast for the turtles, some interesting choices there. I thought for sure one of the Wayons brothers was doing the voice of Michelangelo, but boy was I wrong.

Isn't this coming from the same actress that utterly hates Michel Bay?
Apparently they patched things up.

Eh, didn't really care about her before, but anyone getting the hate from Bay and LeBouf the way she did can't be all bad...hell, even in this thread, every other poster is saying she's a whore.
