I laugh at this "announcement." It only gets worse.
"Oh hey, I'm sorry we were vague about our really bad policies, let us iterate that our policies are indeed terrible."
Let's break this down.
1. The big problem with ALL of the wording is "Publishers may." In
both occurrences of the Used Games issue, they cleverly hide in the wording that "Publishers can turn off the used/turn in/transfer game functions." However, this wording is not exactly correct; "Publishers can choose when you can turn in a used game to a retailer, or give to your friend." If they don't like Used Games, they can turn that stuff off. So, any Electronic Arts games...get ready for 1 copy to 1 console.
2. A game can only be gifted to a friend once. This means that if you want to let them borrow it for a week, you also have to give them your gamer profile for a week. Otherwise, they get it
permanently. They can trade it into GameStop afterwards, but no lending of games for a small period of time.
3. "participating retailers" is vague, and everyone KNOWS it means that GameStop and GAME stores will be your only two choices, maybe one other in countries without those two...but you'll be looking at one choice to turn in your used games. So, if they want to give you $5 for that latest CoD
ogs that came out two weeks ago...that's about all you can get for it.
4. ...and with their mention that "you must connect every 24 hours to Xbox Live to play the console." every Armed Forces will now purchase a PS4.
