Okay, just so I'm aware then, can someone explain to me please (as I probably missed this part), what happens if my Xbox One (that I won't be buying any time soon) is plugged in to the ethernet cable in my house, and I go away on holiday for two weeks (so it's not switched on), and come back without having played any games because I've been out of the country? Would I be penalised for that, or would it count as having 'reconnected' and I'd be good to go again? Because that's my chief concern here, personally speaking (though in addition, I also appreciate that as Cracked have pointed out several times, even in the USA there doesn't exist such a thing as an always online broadband connection for almost anyone).
In addition, I can play my PS1 games that I bought 15 years ago today if I want to, on my PS2, provided the dsics aren't scratched to hell by now. Can Microsoft guarantee I'll be able to play Halo 5 in ten years time after they release the Xbox Two or whatever, or will they have shut down all the servers by then? Huh?
