Oh god, I lol'd.

And I agree with Kwil. This is hardly something that sounds surprising.

That sounds like a desperate cry for help from MS. Besides PC is the best platform for ME. I'm not trying to be a fanboy I tried to play it on Xbox 360 and I didn't like it.

I'm sure i'll be buying an Xbox 360 just for Mass Effect 1, don't worry MS...

If i really wanted to play ME1 i'd wipe the dust from my 360 just buy it for PC, noone's missing out for not having a 360 really the way this is going. It had a good run while it lasted though i guess.

I think some one is a sore loser.
DLC will most likely come packaged with ME2, negating the whole "paid content" stance that MS is using. It is also very likely that Bioware is going to invent a small introduction to the game, giving people who never played ME1 the ability to make the same important choices for the story line.
I also love how they forgot to mention the PC version, witch is vastly superior to the console version, graphics and gameplay wise. Way to alienate your PC fan base again.

I sure as hell won't be getting it on the PS3. The only reason to would be if you never played it on 360/PC

Y'all who do have a dead Wrex.

Good luck with that one.
playing without an import character was my anti-choices.

Anderson WASNT a councilman, the council had died, Wrex was dead, and Williams survived. Completly opposite of what I had chosen for my first import character.
Really? I hadn't tried not importing yet and now I needn't bother as those are how my renegade girl played those scenes out.

Also I played both on PC, you know; the system with all the same bonuses as the xbox and better graphics. I though you guy's were just claiming you planned to 'save' PC gaming, can't do that if you can't bear to acknowledge the platform exists.

One of the chief elements of appeal for any Bioware game is theme/content continuity over a series, or indeed over separate games. There was a great sense of glee for me when certain staggeringly minute actions performed by my avatar in Mass Effect were shown to have left an impression in the sequel... The third installment would be immensely gratifying for my growing character who would then have experienced an entire narrative arc, while making choices that helped shape his (paragon-slanted) persona.

Then again... I only have part-time access to a 360 and still stand by the superior performance of the PS3 as an entertainment device... So for me, uncompressed data, higher resolution, and a few novelty tidbits sound like wonderful conventions for Mass Effect 3.

Of course, it is more than likely that the game will be clocked to run on 360 hardware, so the cross-console release will mean that Sony's horse won't be racing at full tilt, making graphical distinctions between versions quite minute.

Man, EA is really milking Mass Effect 2 for all its worth. Demo, price drop, and now a PS3 port?

I love how microsoft forgot about the PC as a place to play the full series...
Still, I might get the PS3 mass effect 2 and maybe also get both on steam to get the "complete" experience.

has anybody noticed that this has happened with ME1 too?
here's a little demonstration
ME1 - Xbox 360 only, 6 months later bioware announce it for PC.
ME2 - 360 and PC only, 6 months later they announce it for PS3.
just rinse and repeat for ME3,just replace PS3 with Wii or Mac.

The reason microsoft leaves out the PC part is because the people whom have PCs capable of running it are more or less already "out."

It's not like they're going to go play it on an apple or anything- they're completely removed from the demographic Microsoft wants to worry about. That whole stigma about PS3 having no games is kind of dying, especially since it's carrying more exclusives and generally better rated exclusives than the 360.

And you probably have a PS3 that's still working too.

Uh-huh, Microsoft, uh-huh. Well, I'm going to keep playing on the PC, where I have better controls for shooting and access to quick save and quick load, which is important for save freaks like me. And I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version end up having better graphics than the 360 one. Stop talking out of your bum.

all I can say is

really? are you surprised?

that's one of the reasons I gave out on the 360, microsoft are just cash whores, I know it's a company, and the idea of a company is to make money, but they just go too far

given the choice of playin mass effect 2, or any game for that matter, on ps3 or 360 i would always choose the ps3. but the pc is still the place for mass effect. i had mass effect 1 on the 360 and my 360 is very very tempremental, im surprised it hasnt exploded yet. in short the 360 i have is wank and does nothin but crash and tell me there is no disk in(this may have soured my view of the 360 but when u pay £300 u expect it to work without crashin every 2 seconds), the ps3 on the other hand is like a knight in shiny black armour riding in to save the day. bioware is doin rite and puttin mass effect 2 on ps3.

Why would porting a game like Mass Effect be worse on a console with more blu-ray disc space? Surely they can cram better graphics, more extras etc onto a blu-ray!
Yeah, they're gonna reconfigure and rework the game for P$3 so that they can have marginally better graphics and more content. /sarcasm

It's gonna be the same game, with the same content, with the same story, with the same graphics. You're an idiot if you think they'll do anything otherwise.
it might not look any better but they probably spent alot of time fiddling with it to get the game to
work with the different hardwear(may-as-well seeing as they've had so much time :})
