I was the same as you, but then I realised it was necessary to keep a toob class to deal with several threats. Excess snipers, excess toobers, etc. It is very satisfying to fire a toob into a sniper nest and get 4 kills for it. the underbarrel is a beastly weapon isn't it
Yeah, both the grenade launcher and shotgun are very good, but I still never used them once I'd unlocked the shotgun and jumped back to holo sights and fmj. I never needed the tube to get kills nor the knife, I just liked the knife.

I agree with everything except prone, but people would still find ways to quickscope unless you took sniper rifles out completly.

Now we need a 10 hours minimum campaign, balance the rest of the weapons, get rid of the rest of the game breaking perks. Expand the COOP section.

infact most of the perks should go imo. keep the ones that dont really effect gameplay too much.

then get rid of the dogs, and the helicopter, and everything else that makes just one big grief fest if you aren't amazing at the game.

The helicopters in bfbc2 annoyed me as well because it was too easy to spawn camp with them. fix? just make them have to go back and refuel.

I'm just gonna say it.

Ive never, NEVER seen a kill with a knife that wouldn't have been exactly as easy to do with a gun. Except that a gun also lets you shoot at, you know...range.

why would they have a perk that increased melee range? that seems way unbalanced in a game where the knife is some how more powerful than the gun

See, anyone can do that with any mechanic.
Don't be silly, the difference here is that to kill someone with your gun you actually have to aim at them, and guns take 3-6 bullets to kill as opposed to the knife which is instant kill.

Players are also far more likely to 'panic knife' than panic shoot as only one function is mapped to the trigger, while the thumbsticks have aiming and melee.

But since guns kill so fast, a two hit kill melee would both be utterly useless and completely unsatisfying.

I say get rid of the knife auto-aim, if you don't put the cross hairs on them, it's a miss. That way it's still useful, but not as over-powered. Maybe it takes longer to recover from, as well, so if you miss you're fucked.

They should make the knife a secondary weapon and keep it a one hit kill, but make it a bit slower. Then players would have to decide between pistols, explosives and the knife. To replace the knife's spot as the always on melee weapon, I'd suggest a hit with your current weapon. The attack's speed and strength would vary depending on the weapon.

What you suggest is better than what they have, but I'm fine with the melee being useless and unsatisfying, it's a shooter after all and they don't seem to be able to balance it properly with the guns.

I would prefer melee with a knife to be a serious trade-off. Have the knife a weapon you have to equip, like make the melee button do a quick pistol whip/butt-stock smash, but hold the button down for a few seconds to draw out a knife to use. Also, make attacks from behind the only way to insta-kill, like the assassinations from Reach, with a somewhat long animation that could be interupted. That would make actually getting a knife kill a truely rewarding experience.

Nah. Explosives are great fun. Just reduce the damage they do or give a third of the points of a regular kill to make it less rewarding to use it. Or do what blops did and prevent scavenger from letting you pick up explosives.

Make the knife an equipment slot, you lose out on a claymore, etc. and you have to hold the knife itself if you want to use it. It'd be far quicker to draw than any gun, so there'd be at least a small chance if you're in an encounter where you both run out of ammo and are hopping around like madmen. Which is a case where the knife should be used: last resort.

This I would not agree with, because tubes serve a tactical purpose of clearing out enemies in cover. If someone can hit you with a tube grenade in the open, chances are good they could just have hit you with regular bullets anyway - you weren't quick enough on the draw.

The only thing I'd say is to remove the ability to replenish your tube grenades with Scavenger, limiting you to 1 or 2 per life which makes conservation an issue.
I disagree. In a realistic shooter, or maybe even hardcore mode, you might have a chance of taking a guy down faster with bullets, but even the SCAR-H with stopping power is a slower killer than a noob-tube. With Danger Close, it's a large blast radius that kills instantly and can take out multiple enemies in seconds. Good luck trying that with an M4A1. Bullets don't have splash damage.

I like using the knife as a stealth weapon, but just running up to someone who was shooting at me and knifing them? that just made me feel like I was playing the game wrong. I dislike the holo sight, I'm an iron man. I only ever used FMJ to get the Master challenge. I also love how so many people think FMJ increases damage. All it does is reduce the damage and distance drop off through surfaces.

Yes... the rest of the multiplayer was crap with all the campers, but who cares when you can run around the map at the speed of a car, knifing people 20 feet away!

I actually though that Commando Pro was the most fun thing in the game (yes it was cheap, but it was fun.)
