I can never understand how people would want to recreate the anime look. Maybe it is just my ability to mentally translate an anime character to a realistic person, but The only reason anime characters look good is because they are animated. It is easy to get the anime look without, "the anime look."

This reminds me of the people that put those huge holes in the bottom cartilage of their ear...or the people who wear fake hair and fake nails or people who pierce awkward places or people who tattoo their entire bodies.
