I am trying to remember a PC game from the 90's that my ex-husband and I used to play at times (more him than me). It was somewhat like an army game where you built up an army base while fighting your enemies. If your camp was destroyed you had to re-build elsewhere. It was desert like terrain. I cannot remember the name of it. I don't think it was online since it was dial-up at that time. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I think I will recognize the name if I hear it though. Thanks"
Z
Dune
Command and Conquer
Red Alert
Age of Empires
Total Annihilation

Any of the above?

Oh gosh, I don't remember anything about this game except perhaps it was a 90s game. Played it along with Return to Zork and Myst. Was similar to Myst, but you did see people. Set in space/space station/planet. Had aliens. I remember a locker room at the beginning of the game (I didn't get that far into it, to be honest.) I remember force fields and you could pick up items. The planet was kind of deserty. There were videos, kind of instructional things that you could pick up and view, that had actual people. Any ideas?!
Wing Commander?

captcha: rocket science. Very funny.

I can't remember almost anything about this game, it's been driving me crazy for like 2 years. It's kind of like Crusaders of Might and Magic or Arx Fatalis or Wizards and Warriors, but anyways. The only things I remember is talking to a rat-like character (kind of like the rat people in the late wizardry games) in a sewer (towards the beginning I believe) and at some point picking a familiar (A ferret was an option). I'm fairly sure it was popular, but I can not find it anywhere. Please please, any ideas at all.
1) First person RPG
2) Castles?
3) Medieval-ish
... very standard stuff actually.
Thanks in advance.
What was the platform and when, roughly, did it come out? 'Cause there are aloooot of games that you could be talking about, but if we narrow down the timeframe it might be easier to find.
It was on the PC. I feel like it was 1995-2006. I'm so sorry for such a huge timeline. The ferret familiar is really the key thing I remember. Thank you for the response. Any ideas at all would be appreciated.
Damn, this is gonna be tricky. I'm assuming that if you're thinking '95 to '06, then you don't remember the visuals very clearly, but what other games would you compare it to graphically? Was it like a pseudo-3D like Daggerfall, or a more advanced, polygon-based, Morrowind style engine?
It was more around the quality of morrowind, but not so dusty if that makes sense, the games I listed are quite similar I believe. I only have a few scenes in mind at all.

Hi! So new at this and I have this game that I vaguely remember playing in like 2nd grade i think {like 2003 i think} I believe it was for the PS2 so here are the details:
- RPG
- Third Person. Boy Character., don't remember character name., color., face., etc....
- Landscape changed a lot i believe., I remember from inside a castle to outside in a court yard to running on a mountain across a bridge to falling down a terrifying height to in a cave {the cave and such was like the end of the game i think}
- Save a girl! I remember that you had to jump onto this giant bird cage thing I think and knock it down and free this girl., I can't remember her face or hair color or anythin'! She was like the main reason the boy character was going through all this hallabaloo i think...
- Fight/run away from shadow type monsters. They were giant blob type monster with piercing red eyes. I can't remember exactly if you fought or ran but I have a feeling they were there.
- Movable camera. I know i got annoyed with this camera thing but it followed and moved around over the guy behind him
~{ify} Cut scenes! They were great cut scenes kind of like FF type cut scenes where the graphic was amazing i think... {may or may not be true I could just be mixin' this in from playin' FF to much xD}
- For some reason I keep thinking of the word "Ice" I don't know why. It may or may not be relevant to this game...

Any help? I dunno if I have enough details but it's harder to explain I just have these few like scenes of the game in my head that I remember watching {dunno if i actually played or just watched someone play but i know i loved that game} but I really remember the end or it could be the beginning... It was like they fell down from a high height and into the water and they/he woke up in this cave with the water licking at their feet. If I remember correctly he turns and is either trying to wake up the girl or is looking for her i dunno... ugh I hate not remembering!!! Anyone? Please and thank you~! :D

RPG... Check.
Played it around 2003... Check.
Third Person... Check.
Boy Character... Check.
A LOT (emphasis) of changing landscapes... Check.
Save a girl... Check.
Blob monsters with piercing red eyes... Check.
Moveable, annoying camera... Check.
Final Fantasy-like cutscenes... Check.

Sounds like you're thinking of Kingdom Hearts. The first game, that is, as it came out in 2002, and the others ones after 2006+. Here's the intro video to it, if you need to jog some memories: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JATCsxW2fwo

Okay, here is a challenge (Probly) for all you out there. I recently got a SNES again, and started replaying all my childhood memories, this time with an understanding of the games. Only problem, is there are two games that have eluded me for quite some time.

Both are 2d, side scrolling platformers.
- The first one I remember quite clearly. Your character wakes up on an island beach. I remember that he is a coward, and does a 'half-kick' at things to kill them. The first area consists of you climbing rocks, and lots of them.
Later on, I think the 3rd, there is a lava 'puzzle' Where you must drop the right skull(s) into the lava to pass. There are hands that reach out of gaps in the level and drag you into the lava.
The last part of the game I remember is one where you are locked in a cage with a pile of rocks, with a tribal guard walking back and forth. You have to throw the rock to distract him, then grab the key as he walks by to get out.

- Second game, I don't remember a lot, and most of it is just guessing. I believe you play as a bird, and the first level I think you finish by inflating a balloon. I'm quite sure there are no weapons in the game. Yeah, thats all I got...

Hopefully someone can help me out, cause I've looked through every list of game names I can find and none look familiar.
Thank you in advance!

Heh, well...
Alright, here we go. This has been bugging me for ages. I've tried searching lists and lists on games, but couldn't find it. This games is on ps2, its an action rpg game and I think it was back in 2002, 2003, 2004. The camera is third person; you see everything from top and you share one screen with everyone else. Its a four player game, and you have a choice to pick 4 classes: A knight with a 2h sword, a wizard, a viking with a 2h axe and a blonde woman that fights with martial arts. The key point I remember is that it seemed like it was an arcade type gameplay- many levels in a row and if you die then you have to start over. Its a fantasy game, and you fight enemies like demons and dark knights; basically mystical beings and all. I remember correctly one specific boss in the game- a giant ogre in a mountain that makes the mountain shake and collapse. Please, anyone... I've been searching for this for ages. I also remember there is a versus mode.
I'm begging anyone to identify this...
Please...
Thank you very much.

Hello there guys,
I really need your help cause i'm going ballistic that i cant find that game....
It was on psx (ps1) you had some sort of a car or a tank dont remember exactly that was transforming into a robot.
You had flamethrower miniguns and stuff, it was customizable.
I remember a bit also the first stage of the game.....the scenery was something like urban....you go at a parkin lot if i remember right with a small building on top left....and there was a horde of tiny little thing (i think they where humans) and you destroyed them with the flamethrower.....damn gawd i cant remember this game....
Tiny Tank? Twisted Metal? Grudge Warriors? Ray Tracers? Vigilante 8?

There are a few possibilities :p

Weeeell.....nope...i remembered now that the camera perspective was like those rts games..and if i'm correct it was something like a police vehicle transforming into a mech....something like that.
Hmmm... Future Cop: LAPD?
HOLY SHIET BRAH!!! THATS IT 1.000.000 INTERNETS FOR YOU.

First one is Lester the unlikely.
Don't know about the second one.

Sounds like one of the Gauntlet games they made for the ps2(Dark Legacy or seven Seven Sorrows, maybe there were more), so check those out and see if they're what you're looking for.

I'm glad I found an active thread on this topic, because I've got a tough one I'm trying to crack.

Back in the early '90s, my Grandad gave me a bunch of games and demos on a pile of floppy disks when my family got our first computer. One of the games was a shareware demo of a flight simulator, and all I remember about it was that it ran on DOS, you played from a first-person cockpit perspective, and the objective of the demo was to land on some sort of tower or something(the graphics were very primitive). I also remember it had a looping gameplay demo when you started it up, and from that I seem to remember that the plane was blue, with one set of wings; not a biplane, basically.

I can't actually recall ever knowing the name of this thing; If memory serves, the .exe that started the game was called something generic like "flight.exe" or something along those lines, and I'm starting to worry that I'll never find this game again. Anyone have the faintest clue what game I'm on about?
DOS game, blue plane, cockpit perspective...

Super Monkey Ball maybe? Don't think that one was on PS2 though, actually.

No, unfortunately. The one I'm thinking about wasn't a big title like the MS Flight Sim games; in fact, I don't recall any menus or identifying title screens being present at all, which is why I'm so fascinated with it. The graphics were very similar to that one, though. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm still doing some digging, but in the mean time, it didn't happen to be Elder Scrolls: Redguard, did it?

EDIT: Some other possibilities are the Gothic series, and as Hargrimm suggested, Lands of Lore III.

The second is not so easy to describe. It is... well, it's either for NES or SNES possibly for the PC, but I doubt the PC, but I'm pretty sure it's the SNES. I don't think it's a console above that (at the time we only had the NES, SNES, and PC), but I could be mistaken. I'm twenty now, and it has to be at least seven-ten years ago that I played it. I'd say probably more around the ten mark, since I was too young to REALLY understand what the game was about.

Whatever the game was REALLY about, I remember that you go into a room and on the table is some kind of map or something. Or maybe a model of a town. You interact with it and suddenly-- you're in it! I don't remember what you were supposed to do but I remember that there were bulldozers or something, and I think you might have had to avoid them? I don't know if maybe I was just interpreting it wrong, I never actually went up to the vehicles or whatever they were.

So the second game is really weird and hard to describe-- harder to identify, I'm sure! Here's to hoping somebody recognizes the babbling I'm going on with and can be like "Oh, that's this game!" :)
That sounds a lot like Soul Blazer by Enix. It has a level that is pretty much exactly like the one you described. Give this LP of that particular level a watch and see if it fits.

Unfortunately that's not it! This scene I described is in the VERY beginning. The table I remember was HUGE, almost like they tried to make it look to scale, and the graphics were nothing like that. :( Thanks for trying, though! :) Anyone else got any ideas?

Got a game that I really wanna see again, it's like a chess style strategy game, but with alien pieces that all do different things, I can only really remember a large square one and a small circle one that could take the shape of another piece if it got next to it, and they all made weird squishy noises when they moved, had it on the Mac. (Also, remember the soundtrack being pretty awesome as well)

Been on a binge of sorts for old Mac games, but can't seem to find this one... Would kick ass if someone knew.

There is a game I have been trying to think of. This might be a hard one as I only have some sketchy details.

This would be late 80s early 90s PC game. It is fantasy based, single player RPG game. Good graphics for the time. A 3d world environment. You were basically a night walking around exploring the world, fighting undead and other typical monsters. I remember the graphics were about as good as the game Myst.

I think the title was something similiar to Drakken or along those lines. No, its not Drakkhen for the SNES. Your main quest was to find (or fight) a Dragon.

Oh, one major thing. The game was buggy as hell. It would keep crashing at this one certain spot and you could never progress. I think a patch came out for it to fix the crashing, but I never got around to installing it.
