OLD floppy disk game I played back in school - around 1998-2000, but probably made way before that. Sort of archaeology based. Digging up pieces of pottery and stuff. The HUD along the bottom had buttons for spade, trowel, brush, magnifying glass, etc. If you used a tool that was too big you'd break the thing you were digging up. Think it was isometric view, with diagonal arrows on the HUD for movement, and probably point-and-click. Was maybe in Roman times. You'd start with black fog of war all around the spot you were standing on and had to walk around to uncover more of the map.

Other memory is of some sort of History based educational side-scroller. On floppy disk again. Might be the same game, not sure. The overall premise of the game seemed to be using a pocket-watch to go forward and backward in time. The final "boss" was on a wooden pier, and you had to use the pocket-watch to travel back to an earlier time period where the pier hadn't been built and he falls into the water. The only other bits I randomly remember was a maths puzzle game with old imperial (UK) coins where you had to use combinations of them to get the correct amount, and a bit where you had to drag and drop dates and names onto a historical timeline.

Been bugging me for ages. Anyone who knows what it is an instant legend.

Hi all. Looking for two old school PC games. Tried the good old google search but nothing came up so here goes...

I believe both games were demos, but they've stuck with me ever since.

The first was a top down RPG. From what I recall, the main character was dressed in blue, with orange?/red? hair, and, while he did have a sword, a special move he had was when he threw bags of money or explosives or something. Another character I distinctly recall was dressed in green, and might have been a ranger/archer of some sort. This game also had a HUD to easily control your characters. I think.

The second game was an airship type game. The camera was third-person, directly behind the airship or whatever it was. On the screen were designated (green) windows/boxes to aim. To fire weapons, I'd have to use my mouse and click on the designated area. If I spammed the left side box, the weapons geared towards the left-side would fire. Customizing the airship involved increasing the surface area/land of the airship, equipping power sources and weapons (long-range guns, like cannons, and short-range defenses, like spikes).

Thats all I remember of these two games. Any help would be much appreciated!

I can't remember almost anything about this game, it's been driving me crazy for like 2 years. It's kind of like Crusaders of Might and Magic or Arx Fatalis or Wizards and Warriors, but anyways. The only things I remember is talking to a rat-like character (kind of like the rat people in the late wizardry games) in a sewer (towards the beginning I believe) and at some point picking a familiar (A ferret was an option). I'm fairly sure it was popular, but I can not find it anywhere. Please please, any ideas at all.
1) First person RPG
2) Castles?
3) Medieval-ish
... very standard stuff actually.
Thanks in advance.
What was the platform and when, roughly, did it come out? 'Cause there are aloooot of games that you could be talking about, but if we narrow down the timeframe it might be easier to find.
It was on the PC. I feel like it was 1995-2006. I'm so sorry for such a huge timeline. The ferret familiar is really the key thing I remember. Thank you for the response. Any ideas at all would be appreciated.
Damn, this is gonna be tricky. I'm assuming that if you're thinking '95 to '06, then you don't remember the visuals very clearly, but what other games would you compare it to graphically? Was it like a pseudo-3D like Daggerfall, or a more advanced, polygon-based, Morrowind style engine?
It was more around the quality of morrowind, but not so dusty if that makes sense, the games I listed are quite similar I believe. I only have a few scenes in mind at all.
I'm still doing some digging, but in the mean time, it didn't happen to be Elder Scrolls: Redguard, did it?

EDIT: Some other possibilities are the Gothic series, and as Hargrimm suggested, Lands of Lore III.
No it wasn't the Redguard, Lands of Lore, any of the Gothics, nor Anvil of Dawn or any Ultima or spin of.
Lands of Lore is feeling very close though, newer graphics I believe. So perhaps my year range is 1999-2006 ish. Little better, haha.
By the way, much appreciation for even these ideas, each is giving me more of an area to keep searching.

Hi! I am looking for a puzzle game back in the mid 90s to the early 00s... it was a freeware game for pc, where you played in an overhead look through levels of monsters and puzzles. The game had 9 or 10 parts, that each had slightly different mechanics. Everytime you finished one part, you got a password to unlock the next one (had to download it first, every part consisted of several levels).

It was really awesome and I am dying to find out the name :) Does anyone know what I am talking about?

This one sounds like Hexplore.

Hey there,

I am looking for an old mystery game. You either play as a boy or girl that both made this junior detective club. I do not remember the story, but I do know you go to different places around town (there is this animation of the boy on a skateboard and the girl on rollerskates). You talk to people and write down what they said in your notebook. You then highlight inconsistancies in your notebook and that is how you progress through the game and ultimately solve the mystery.

Thanks in Advance!

I remember an old topdown aircraft shooting game that you played co-op or alone (mostly co-op since it was more fun)
I remember the game being on a 50in1 cd on the pc and that there was no collision between both players (one controlled with the arrow keys on the keyboard and spacebar, the other with the mouse. One play was grey, the other green.

I also and this is probably the key feature in finding the name of this game: there was a beer gun. A gun shaped like a beer glass attached to the plane that shot the foam.
I've been looking for the name of this game to play it again for years now, desperatly trying to find it...

Hi looking for some help

the game i am looking for is a PC game that's 2D but not a side scroller i don't think (maybe)
its about you crash landing on a unknown planet and only have so many days left to live
you need to go out and find supplies maybe food i don't remember for sure but i know you could
kind of craft things by trying to combine items together.

its at lest 7 years old any maybe indie or even maybe a flash game but i don't think so.

I think it may be Lands of Lore 3! I'm looking into it.
Have you been able to confirm yet?

EDIT: Could the ferret familiar be Syruss, the Thief Guild familiar? Here's a pic:

From Intelligent Game Reviews review of Lands of Lore 3:
http://intelligames.nodblog.com/lands-of-lore-iii-review/

"Another unique twist on the game is the familiar... Syruss (the ferret) will pick up just about anything that isn?t tied down, though nobody seems to worry about the fact that you have a flying ferret floating around you."

Sounds like we might have got it.

I need to remember an old game but can't for the life of me find it or remember it. You was a man with black hair I believe, and there was monsters in the game that floated and had a 'Grim Reaper' type cloak, the cloak had some grayish spots on it I think and this monster was holding a scythe I think. I can't remember much more, if anyone can tell me, thank you!
Something from the legacy of Kain series, Soul Reaver perhaps?

Hi does anyone remember a pc game from a few years back centred around this penguin who was searching for an evil dictator or something who had kidnapped his girlfriend... I remember there were lots of crates that you would smash and walking/animated bombs and twirling gold coins - and there were platforms covered in snow and ice... And I think there was some point you could change into a bigger or stronger penguin if you found a gem and then the penguin would turn red and like morph..? Also at the end you would battle the evil penguin in his throne room.. And at the beginning the game started with the main penguin telling you about his life and setting up the story etc...

Sorry if this is like impossible to find.... It's driving me crazy..
