Hi guys, i realllly need to figure this game out. It was a first person fighter/stealth game on PC. You pretty much had a sword and you were some sort of knight. There would be a time you would walk a round a castle, and in the castle you can find things to pick up/use such as other swords or maybe armor and also other things like apples or fruits. I think you also were able to cook food or something like that. but its not a main thing to cook that was maybe just one time in the game. it was very medeival looking. You pretty much had to sneak around the castle it wasnt full out fighting left and right. I just cant remember the main purpose of the game and what you try to acheive. the game was at earliest played during 2000 and not played after 2003. also i doubt before 2000. I dont know what else to say. try you best pleaaseeeeeeeeeeee

"Thief" ? Or "Thief-metal age" ?

I posted this in a similar thread but have had no luck, so I'll re-post it in here:

I have two games for you guys to discover. Unfortunately, what I remember from them is very vague.

1) This game was on an old DOS computer. It was set in Ancient Greece, though the story I haven't got any clue of. You play as an (old?) upper-class man, and begin the game waking up in bed, then making your way to a nearby bar. The game is highly reminiscent of Hugo's House of Horrors (same type-command gameplay), which was also on that computer.

2) This game I have no idea what it was originally on, other than some form of computer. The game featured some sort of male adventurer, who had to make his way from the left side of the screen to the right (or vice versa), all the while avoiding large monsters that patrol up and down the length of the screen. The idea was to dash across when they had their back turned on him. There may have been gemstone collecting and boulder pushing, but that might be me merging two games together. :D

Good luck, because I've been trying to find them for ages.
I've been looking for something for years that falls into your second description pretty perfectly. Any way you've figured it out after three years??

Having just read the article by Marla Desat on Egypt in gaming I've been reminded of a game I had on the amiga, so probably from around 1990-1993.

It was first person and you were some dude going into a pyramid to stop some sort of Pharaoh's curse/ancient prophecy that was going to destroy the world. The game over screen was something akin to the moon covering the sun and then shattering into little bits and showering the earth with chunks of moon.

Not much to go on I know, but it's really bugging me for some reason.

Hello,
I'm re-posting this with few updates here and there.

Another game the bothers me from time to time:
It's economy RTS played somewhere after 1997 most probably on Win 98.
You have lots of resources to take care of like gold of course, stone, metal, coal, wood, food and most probably other suff.
You have to build appropriate mines to gather the resources. I remember the armies you build where quite massive and don't really remember having unit limit. You can build sea transport to conquer other lands as well as battle ships.
I remember well one specific war machine that is like a big roulette of gun barrels. It was kind of many cannons mounted in a circle. This thing could do great damage to infantry like killing 10-20 units with one shot. The war machines consume resources: mentioned cannon would consume metal and coal with each shot thus having too many war machines in battle would exhaust the resources and make them useless.
I believe the game world was in the middle ages or something like that.
Also if it's of any help the executable was named war.exe not really sure why I remember this but there it is.

And Lets also try this one again:
Old arcade game. I remember playing it in the early to mid 90's on coin-op machine.
It was a side scroller where character walks and can jump and hit boxes with his head for bonuses very similar to Mario but it's not it. He could fight the enemies by shooting them and trapping them in bubbles. You have to jump on the bubbles to finish them or to reach higher places in the level.
I remember that in the very first level you had to trap several enemies and jump on the bubbles forming kind of bubble "ladder", in order to climb kind of pyramid with boxes in order to reach some reward on top. The reward may have been a star of some sort but I'm not sure. Probably giving extra life or weapon I don't remember.
I remember that the first boss was huge compared to the character you control.
The graphics was kind of smooth not like the most 8-bit stuf. The graphics is comparable with Contra, "Captain Commando" and "Cadillac and dinosaurs" and these three games I played about the same time as the one I seek or few years later.
The game mechanic is quire similar to Mario but it is not Marion. And although the guy shoots bubbles it is not Bubble Bobble.

Thank you.

Ok, I'm looking for an old DOS/ Windows 3.1 game. You're controlling a boy who can jump and climb ladders. The boy is throwing apples (really, apple cores, the apples he has already chewed on) and there's infinite amount of them. He can hit enemies with those apples for some damage and I think that he can jump on the enemies as well. There are all sorts of enemies in the game, but I remember a boss battle with a giant fly.

At some parts of the game you can pass through teleports that take you to the other part of the level and back, as well as secret parts. You collect different candy as points (cakes, bombons). There are also bombs you can collect but you have limited amount of them and when they blow up they kill all enemies on the screen. On some parts, you can pick up wood and the boy then throws wood instead of apples. The wood is used to build bridges to the other parts of the game.

The games from that time period I remember are Golden Axe, Commander Keen and Dina Little Bomber. Thanks for your help.

Okay, so there is a game I remember playing on the PC when I was younger, and not being able to remember what it was called has been bothering me for years. It must have been between 1998 and 2005. The best I can describe it is that you are on an island, with a tank-like vehicle in a 3rd person view. The island is infested with giant wasps that will attack your vehicle. The mission, which I never beat (dumb little kid me...) was to find and destroy the hive, which is in front of a research building with scientists, and collect these water module things, which looked like little pyramids. You had to collect these to allow your tank vehicle to travel on water and off the island without taking damaged. You were equipped with a mini-gun and 4 missiles on the top of this vehicle. There were different difficulties, and the title screen had those wasps throughout it. For an old game it was a decent 3d environment with textures and everything. I think the game's name started with an A, and the icon sort of looked like a set of golden like gates. Might be wrong on the icon thing there. If ANYONE knows what this is, a bazillion thanks in advance for helping put this search to rest.

I think this was played on the windows 98 if I recall. 95 might be a bit too old.
Going to bump this. I know it's probably not a well known game, but somebody out there has to know! :p

I've been looking for a specific arkanoid/breakout game for quite some time. The graphics of this game are pretty top notch. It had many different power ups including a phantom paddle power up. If I remember correctly there may have been secret levels too. There was also a boss level I remember. It was some kind of worm/robot creature. I know the game isn't ricochet. It was most likely a game on shockwave.com. The music was sort of like techno as well. It was kind of 3-d but from a front view if that makes sense. I played it on my pc when I was a child. If anyone knows what game I'm talking about please get back to me. [email protected]

Probably not a very popular game but i thought i'd try this out. I used to play a game with my brother on a Windows (Win95?) PC in the Mid-Late 90s. It was a split screen, top down view, player vs player tank game (nice 8 or 16 bit graphics). From recollection, one tank was green or blue, and the other was red. it was two player on the same keyboard and the aim was to kill the other tank either by shooting it or dropping mines. You reloaded mines by going back to your base/garage. the tanks were in an 'urban/block environment with roads & buildings. please help me find this game! Thank you.
Found it! Saw someone else suggest 'Return Fire' for another post, did a bit of wikipedia searching and found 'Fire Power'- which is the game I was looking for: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_Power_(video_game)

Alright what I'm looking for is a 90's PC game probably around 95ish. It takes place in the future, I don't know if it's an apartment building or a hotel you are in but you can go in elevators I think and walk around. You have to go to work and scan your finger on a fingerprint scanner. I think the corporation you work for is bad and owns the building you live in. I think you can fall out a window to your death or something...maybe not.. This is really hard to remember lol... there's a robot lady voice and you can use an atm type thing. I was just thinking of Hell Cab and I may be getting parts of that mixed up with it lol. But it's not Hell Cab.

Hmm...I don't think it was this, but try

Rise Of The Dragon (1990)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIue08JFz9k

it's older but some things that you say match with this game...in the meantime I'll try to remember if there is another similar game. By the way, I'm assuming that it was a first person game like Hell Cab.
No wasn't that one, it had better graphics I think and yes it is first person. It's hard because I remember so little. All the games my parents bought came out of the Wal- Mart bargain bin so they are all obscure lol. I really liked the ones with real video and had a few like that Hell Cab, Who Shot Johnny Rock and one called Fork in The Tail with Rob Schneider. The only game I can't figure out is this one, I don't think it had the interactive videos like those though.
It should be:

Nightlong - Union City Conspiracy (1998)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su7gilVYOQs

but it is third person..I bet it was this game. I didn't tell you before because I was thinking that it was first person like Hell Cab...check it out!

I adored that game, played it from a floppy disk which is now nowhere to be found.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.
One last bump.
Could it be "Syndicate" or the sucessor "Syndicate wars" ?
No, it was more of an Age of empires/Command and conquer style strategy. But I guess it was older. It frustrates me that I can't remember any more details.
Thanks for trying though.

Not it either but that looks pretty familiar. I did end up finding out what it was after searching for 3 hours straight (I have no life lol). It's called The Journeyman Project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akv_sp-iMX8 The only part I really got right was having to go to work haha. Thanks so much for trying to help, it was driving me nuts trying to figure it out! :)

So I'm 18 now, and back when I was 5 or 6, I remember playing a game at my brother's place. I don't remember a whole lot about it, but here's what I do remember:
I believe it had RPG elements, but I could be wrong
It was a top down view, perhaps angled a bit
I remember going through hallways of a castle or ruins
If your character is killed, you become a skeleton. You can continue to play, but you're more vulnerable, and I don't remember if you're able to become alive again. If you die as a skeleton, I believe it was game over.

Unfortunately that's all I really remember, I know it's extremely vague, and I apologize for that. It was quite long ago. Also, please let me say, the game I'm looking for is ABSOLUTELY without any bit of doubt NOT MEDIEVIL. Everytime I bring up playing as a skeleton, people suggest this game, and I'm completely certain that this is *NOT* the game I'm looking for. Just wanted to make this as clear as I could. I believe the game I'm looking for is on the PS1, but it could also be on the N64.

(Also I hope I posted this in the right place, never posted to this site before!)

Hi guys! I'll try to explain the situation, although my english isn't very good. There was this win95 game I played a decade ago - but sure it was older than that - where you played with a dinosaur/alligator/crocodile/whatever it is this green thing, and you had to stack boxes to reach the door/next level. The graphics were all quite simple. If someone knows what it is, it'll be very helpful. Thansk!
Not sure about the box stacking. But it sounds like Croc.

Not much to go off of but it sounds like a scene from Final Fantasy 7.

That's the one! Thank you very much, it was driving me crazy.

The odd thing is this: If I google it as dos game+ boy+ throwing apple cores I don't get that game, not anywhere near it. If I exchange "boy" for "Nicky" all the results go for that game. Weird :D

Maybe "Dune II" then? That game was too big to fit on a floppy, though. Sure it was RTS and not TBS?
