To be honest I never even noticed the change in the voice at all. (I'll blame my crappy ears for my lack of noticing.) Aw well. I guess it's for the better, at least I didn't make any accusations or theories and forced them down everyone's throat as if it were a fact. (This must have been how religion started, who would've guessed your head set would become some sort of prophet?)

R.I.P Yahtzee's awesome headset. This little article has inspired me to try and buy my self one, I never thought a headset could be so reliable, nor have such fine quality.

*Any suggestions for a good headset?*

people freaked out about the change because they enjoy the yahtzee "character". It's a bit of a compliment really, because people would also go nuts if Seth McFarlane left Family Guy and someone else took over all his voices

"what.. What is this? There's something wrong with the house! I don't like change!"

Exactly, like when FOX decided to recast the Futurama voice actors because they became too expensive.

OK I wanted to ask questions for assassin's creed 2 but I guess it's too late...anyway I can't believe that most people watch this because of Yahtzee...Yes I too wanted to know what happened with his voice and I am sorry he is sick but neglecting the questions about the game...well sorry but if that's the way it's going to be

Don't blame them for all the conspiracy theory, voice-double bullshit. They've been playing Assasins Creed 2, where EVERYTHING is a conspiracy

At least you were able to get one comment about the game in, lol. I was surprised when everyone reacted to the slightly different voice the way they did. I'd assume everyone would have done what I did: spend a total of .5 seconds going "huh, his voice sounds different" and then watching the review.
I did that, do I get a cookie? Or a smack in the face for acknowledging that I did in fact, do that?
We both get a cookie and likely a smack in the face from Yahtzee for being so damn smug.

He sounded more manly with a cold. Like a man.
I know. I loved his new voice because he lost his slight Australian twang. It can get annoying when you live with it for 17 years.

But yeah, loved the article. It's funny, I'm enjoying Extra Punctuation more than I am with Zero Punctuation. But that's just me.

Yep, that's pretty much what I did too.

Also, I loved the start of page 2. That guy got owned.

It really shows how iconic a voice can be to generate something like this with such a minor change. Imagine the riots that'll insue if Yahtzee ever needs to have his tonsils removed.
When Yahtzee's voice came on I immediatly knew something had changed. It reminded me of old school Yahtzee, when they were simply called Fully Ramblomatic Reviews and they didn't generate as much profit.

Extra Punctuation: On His Voice

Yahtzee explains the change in voice, and denies any and all accusations of alien snatchers and voice doubles.

"glowing lady who looked like something Captain Kirk might get his chubby little leg over at the end of a Star Trek episode."

Sorry to sound like a jerk bu can we get a spoiler warning next time.
Huh? Buh? That's not anywhere near a spoiler, unless you've never seen a ST episode before, or ever been near anyone who is a fan, and thus don't know that Kirk sleeps with everything. But, a spoiler, really?

On topic, it never ceases to amaze me how very conspiracy-theorist people are on the internet. A cold? That can't possibly explain it. Hired not-quite-voice doubles? It's definitely that! Oh, internet, sometimes I love you.

I should probably borrow the first Screed off my boyfriend and try it...

The slight change of yahtzee's voice didn't bother me much... until now. How could 98% of all the sane people who commented on the video be right at the same time? It couldn't be that he just so HAPPENED to fall ill at the same time as his mic stopped working. Maybe it is a doppleganger...

But Yahtzee has a point. Who in Austrailia has the same accent as Yahtzee... except for YAHTZEE HIMSELF!

In case you don't see what I'm getting at... It's a CLONE!

And in case you're asking a perfectly reasonable question, such as why clone Yahtzee sounds the way he did when he first started the ZP reviews, stop using logic, damnit! It's a clone!

Wait, what? People seriously believed he'd hired a voice actor?! I thought it was obvious he had a cold, at least it was to me. My decision not to read the video comments feels better all the time... :)

Through the trials of illness, broken stuff-ness and speculated imposterism Yahtzee still delivers and subconsciously tells me to buy AC2 with my next paycheque.

He should be getting paid enough to get a nice studio mic. You know, those $250+ things that his favorite vocalists use.
