Here's one that should some people right pissed off: Okami is a
terrible game. The plot was nothing special. That Issun thing talked way too much but never said a damn thing that was important. The controls were broken until you managed to find a new type of weapon and could finally do battle competently. The magic spells or whatever they were called with the brush used too many circular shapes as the activators, and the game couldn't tell them apart and constantly gave you the wrong effect. And then those stupid mandatory digging/escort mini-games which combined the problem mentioned in the previous sentence with a time limit, making for one of the most frustrating game experiences in my life. If I was asked to give it a score, I'd give it a 0/10. I find absolutely nothing redeemable about that game. I cannot think of a single reason why anyone should ever play it. If anyone wanted to play a game like Okami, there is such a long list of better games that actually work properly that people could play and have more fun with that there's no reason to even get close to recommending Okami. And why would you anyway, unless someone said they want a game that would frustrate them?
inb4 someone parrots off the same useless "tips" I've been hearing for 2 years that don't work in an attempt to get me to play the game again and like it. It's not happening. Whatever great piece of advice you think you have, I've heard it before, tried it, and it didn't work. The game is broke, I hate it, and I'm never playing it again.

I think the reason people hate on Square is because they are the biggest JRPG developer with an audience in the west, and like many things JRPG's are an acquired taste.
It's got nothing to do with JRPGs being an acquired taste and everything to do with Square Enix making crappy JRPGs lately. Other developers are doing just fine making good JRPGs.

I don't think that FFVII is one of the greatest games of all time.
Bring on the fanboys.
I share that sentiment. But it was one of the most
important games of all time.
Yep. Sadly, it was important in making JRPGs stink for a while, because everyone tried to be like FF7 to get those kinds of sales. JRPGs were intolerable for me during that time because of all the damn FF7 clones. x_x

Apparently on the escapist you either hate or like Pokemon. Unfortunatly I am subject to Harrasment when I say the Phrase, "I like the 5th generations" and I tend to get angry when people Harrass me.
Its odd to because they say there aren't any good 5th gen pokemon but they fail to even point out one that even KINDA looks cool or is close to their opinion of liking.
They're just too busy talking about how great 2nd gen was, despite it having a hell of a lot more bad Pokémon than 5th gen did. Hell, the only reason so many of the 2nd gen Pokémon are worth using today is because 4th gen changed how moves are special or physical attacks based on the move itself rather than its type.
