Parents call cops, worried their son forgot to take his medicine. Cops shoot him to death.

The problem isn't necessarily that the officer had done wrong, so much as in the USA violence is almost always required. For instance, lets say the cop pulled this kid over; him being suicidal and all, pulls the glock out of the holster and shoots the officer then proceeds to kill himself. That may not have been what happened, but if I were a police officer in the USA I would definitely always be on alert, so maybe he used excessive force but for all we knew he could have thought that his life might have been or even was in danger.

Why does America give it's morons guns again?
Because if you actually do research into it like I did in my earlier post you will find out a lot more about it and that the Courthouse News Service is retarded and should not be read seriously.
Even so, if the police where to have used a tazer instead of a gun, they could have more of a chance of say arresting him if he had done wrong or giving him psychiatric help since he was obviously suicidal...I'm not saying the guy who died was in the right, but if you reach for your gun first and not some other means to stop the guy, you're sorta in the wrong job. In the police especially, the gun should be a LAST RESORT choice and is often the reason why in certain countries they don't give the police guns.

No problems with this. The two articles that kind person posted on the first page shed a lot of light on it.

This kid was being suicidal and was endangering other people. The police tried to pull him over and he attacked them. I can understand why the police did it and I support it. From the sounds of it, it was lucky he didn't kill someone.

Fuck..... Just read the damn article you guys.
First off took place almost 2 years ago.
Second the guy was suicidal.
Third WTF is that site you gave
Here is 2 other articles:
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/705322062/Did-blood-sugar-lead-to-tragedy.html
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/705321660/Officer-kills-driver-in-chase.html
After reading your articles, that makes a hell of a lot more sense.
The first article is completely leaving out information. These two make it sound a lot more legit. Still sucks I guess, but I fail to see the point of even posting something that happened this long ago.

A: His name is "Christopher" Joey Tucker. So even if you did have the right name and google searched Christopher Tucker, you get the comedian, so that might confuse you.
B: They're filing a case now, two years later. The officer was put through the usual leave and such back then, per the news articles I've found.
C: I found SEVERAL news stories for googling 'salt lake city utah christopher tucker wrongful death'. Best one I saw was the one I linked in my post, http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/home/51446200-76/tucker-police-lake-salt.html.csp
I'm not psychic dude, I wasn't supposed to know his name was Christopher, especially when the site reports it as Joey. That site is clearly very late to the party then and is really shitty at reporting it too. That site you linked had much more than the one the OP linked.

Either way, I'm still not all too interested in the whole thing. I just wanted to throw my pennies in and say that the site seemed like it was reporting straw ends, which it was.

i read this story somewhere else and it just doesnt make sense. why did the parents call the cops when their sons hadnt taken the medicine?

The police and the family have 2 different stories but there is the dash cam thing in police cars so it should be easy to tell who is telling the truth.

and from both stories i cant see why they had to shot him. in the families story he was obeying road rules and after he was stop he stay still and then was shot.

in the police story he was swerving all over the place and when he was stop he rammed a police car and then was shot.

the dash cam should show al lthis.

also in both stories i cant see any reason to actually shot and kill the guy. the car was surrounded. couldnt they have shot the tires of the car or shot him like once instead of 3 times.

There is only ever one view that I keep of American police and that's when I once went to New York.

We were walking past a building which had several officers outside and was lined off with tape. We were curious tourists so naturally we asked "what's going on?". The police officer we enquired to replied "I'm afraid that's confidential."

So we decided to ask a second officer what was happening. He replied "Well there seems to be a minor terrorist threat, but it's all under control and it was just a misunde-"
"IT'S CONFIDENTIAL!!!" Interrupted the first officer...

Not saying that's what ALL American police are like, but when asked for a first thought this always comes up. Thanks for the laughs America ;D

Excellent, another website to rely on for news, sometimes it takes The Onion weeks to hit on the top stories.

Wow, you say that like you were the victim of brutish behavior rather than some obnoxious tourist. You actually just asked the guy standing next to the guy who told you to buzz off?

Meh, I admit we were in the wrong and it wasn't the guy right next to him, it was someone else further down (they made it a big incident, we weren't nitpicking the streets for these things). As I say it's not what ALL American police are like but that's still the first thought that comes to my head. It was still funny.

Hey, at least the stupid people enforcing the stupid laws don't (usually) carry guns. That's good enough for me.
