I too am shocked that Persona 4 didn't make the list I can understand not being about to put all the SMT games on there but there should have been at least one in there somewhere. I think it might just be a case of the PS2 having too many good games.

Time to be in the minority! I voted for Final Fantasy XII, although I play the International Edition, but it is still my favorite Final Fantasy game ever. Although it was tough for me to choose as I've been playing through Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and that game has been fun. Also, stinks since most of my PS2 games are imports so they aren't necessarily represented on the list. :/
I do not wish to insult you opinion but can I ask why? The only FF I hated more than XII was XIII. I liked X-2 more than XII.

I could understand if it was because of the gameplay as it was fun but I always judge a FF on the story and XII was just Return of the Jedi without lightsabers.

OT: I picked FF X. The last great Final Fantasy.
The story wasn't the best FF story ever but that was because originally Basch and Balthier were supposed to be the main characters, but the people at Square figured that they were too "old" to be considered the main characters and added in Vaan and Penelo. So I think of it in this way, the story focuses on Basch, Balthier, and Ashe but is told from the point of view of Vaan. Another reason as to why I liked it was for the large amounts of sidequests it had and for how difficult it actually was. I play the International version nowadays which fixed some of the issues with the gambits and license boards which made the game even more enjoyable for me. The International let's you turn off guest and Esper gambits, it allows you to break the damage limit of 9999, and best of all it adds 12 new license boards in the form of classes like how they were in Tactics. You only get one License Board for that character and you can't change it.

But I digress, to answer your original question I liked XII so much because it did so many things differently and really reinvigorated the series for me. Then came XIII...>.>

I can see why you guys liked it and you had some good points. I did like Balthier and I do belive that XII had one of, if not, the best combat system in the series but while I think adding Vaan and Penelo did not help in any way having Balthier and Basch as the main characters would not have solved the main problem I had. That the game was damn near a shot for shot remake of Jedi. They ever had a Death Star!

Now that I think of it I can see where you are coming from as well. Still, for me it doesn't really phase me as much because I usually try not to focus too much on the stories in JRPGs as much as they get confusing at times. But I guess it also helps that I liked Return of the Jedi. XD
Dang, now I wanna play XII International but I need to finish my LP of Final Mix first, then I need to do X International...Dang it! >.<
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to fight Sephiroth on FM Proud. I regret everything. T.T

Ahhh so many great games! I love you PS2!

Metal Gear Solid 3
Shadow of the Colossus
Sly 2: Band of Thieves

Had to be Silent Hill 2 though, the game I've played most out of those.

Write in: The Fatal Frame series.

Holy terrifying games Batman. And with Nintendo now owning the franchise and turning into augmented reality shovelware for the 3DS, i'm doubting I will ever see them in the creepy incarnation ever again. :-(

On the PS2, they were great looking games and among the scariest i've EVER played.

Since Time Splitters 2 wasn't on there I had to choose Kingdom Hearts II.

However it's a really fucking hard choice since the PS2 holds so many of my favorite games on such an equal level, I can't possibly just choose one.
Fucking hell I miss time splitters. Although even if it had been on the list I think I still would have voted for SotC. Timesplitters 2 was awesome, but I had way more fun with it on the gamecube.

I was thinking the same thing. No way she would have let P4 go unrepresented! >:O

Hhnnnnngg! I was torn between Kingdom Hearts 2, Jak 2 or Snake Eater. But I had to go with KH2 only because it's the one that I replayed the most and made me excited for KH3.
*Sigh* How long ago was that?

FFX was fun to play but nothing can compare to my favorite, FFVIII.
And FFXII was good! *Runs off*

Personally comes down to Persona 3, Persona 4, or Xenosaga 1.

Gun to my head (ha!), I think Persona 4 gets it.

Although the first Jak and Daxter game blew my mind, San Andreas ate up very nearly half of my total PS2 playtime and I still play through the Sly Cooper series on occasion, I cast my vote for Okami. Its intriguing story, wonderful setting and genuinely original game experience touched me on a far deeper level than most games could ever hope for.

Have to say I'm disappointed not to find Psychonauts on the list, though. (Just saying. I would still have voted Okami!)
