I'm pretty sure it says "Thankyou for assuming the party ______ submission position." Which makes a whole lot more sense as the robot is probably 'arresting' the player character. Also, what would you assume all the words between party and position were?

Maybe. Beeing that it's the only word I can't make out, and that it is about three years since I played the game, I wouldn't know. But you're probably right.

Actually maybe not. It could be that the next game is a combination of Portal and Half-Life. In other words you could be switching between Chell and Gordon Freeman. Like what they did with Halo 2 where you switched between the Master Chief and the Arbiter.

Also, for those crying "GASP HL2 HUD", Portal is based very much on HL2 assets. All the NPCs, weapons, items, and such are in Portal. The recorder of this video most likely used cheats to give himself everything, which makes getting to the end much quicker and easier.

That includes the HEV suit and weapons. Using weapons makes it so you don't have to aim the rockets at GLaDOS. Just shoot her and a core will drop off of her. Easy.

It is definitely 100% real, and extremely awesome of Valve for doing. Something no one has every really done before, to my knowledge.

What he said. If you use the console you can use God Mode and get other weapons so you can take out turrets faster. Also, noclip probably speeds up getting to the new ending to record the video.

Yes, we know, it's based on the same engine, by the same people, blah-blah-blah in fact, it's pretty much a half-life 2 mod, but it doesn't change the fact that the half-life 2 HUD isn't on the game portal, hence the possibility of trickery.

Well no it isn't 100% real, not until I've seen it with my own eyes is it definitely real, but this is just me being nitpicky, basically, it could be a hoax, that people are backing up, and until I manage to get my computer to find the strength to run portal, I can't be sure.
But yes it is awesome, and it has been done similarly in gaming advertising; it's called viral marketing, but it hasn't been done this way before, by actually putting in a new ending to a game, that hasn't been done to my knowledge

Yep thats it, which ties in with the new achievement of "party position".

So Portal just got retconned.

What? No. The new achievement is "Transmission Received". The party one is an old achievement for escaping the fire room.

It's pretty obviously real too, considering Portal's update today. "Updates to Portal have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted.

No, seriously, I found out about the update when it first came out, you need to take the radios to a special location on each chamber to earn a mysterious new achievement.

I said I would beat the achievement, but I couldn't be assed to do it. I guess this is the reward.
