Well having a bottom of the barrel laptop makes me unable to play any sort of PC game so all I've had is the 360 version of the Orange Box and Portal.

If Valve thinks they can make a sequel to Portal that's as good if not better than the original then I'm willing to think that they can. I mean I would've taken just a bunch of brand new puzzles to solve as DLC or something from the first one. I always wondered how the portals could be incorporated with other genres like Half-life's style.

Enemies taking cover behind a wall? Shoot a portal around a wall and toss a grenade into a corresponding portal at your feet. Either they all explode or you take a barrage of gunfire. FROM THE FLOOR. That'd be fun to play.

I think it's "Thank you for assuming the party position."

Or something along those lines. The 'Party position' when you 'escaped' the fire?
Yep thats it, which ties in with the new achievement of "party position".

So Portal just got retconned.
That is really... kinda fucking disturbing that a female prisoner should be in a "party position"?!??

I think valve may have Rule 34'd itself... or maybe I just have a dirty mind.

good thing I just set up my steam account, because you know Valve isnt gonna release shit for the 360

also this is pretty cool. I really enjoyed Portal, but I never really wanted to replay, Im glad there is gonna be a sequel
Funny you should say that as they have even less support for the PS3. Anyways I'm going to go re-buy portal just for this! (It was on an account I shared with some friends then to prevent "issues" we got our own accounts).

I'm fascinated, but the HL2 HUD makes me dubious as to its' authenticity.
I may have to try it out myself.
It's legit. I just beat it again to see if that was all there was to the ending, and it is

From what I've heard this ending only plays if you have unlocked the new transmission recieved achievement so trying it out won't work without doing that first.

I've personally seen this ending in game, though you have no more reason to believe me then the video of course.
No, it is the new ending for the game.

This makes me believe even more that HL Ep 3 and portal will be one and the same game. I don't think i will be replaying portal just for this though.

"Thank you for assuming the party escort submission position."

I have never thought that GlaDOS was finished, and this still doesn't change my mind, but the voice at the end leaves me thinking that another Aperture AI wants its turn with Chelle. And if second AI is actually the preserved mind of the Aperture founder, so much the better.

Companion Cube or one of its siblings better make an appearance or I will cry.

I don't want there to be a second Portal.

People focus on bad things and if Portal 2 turns out bad, then Portal will be known as the prequel to a bad game.

On the other hand, Portal 2 could be even more triumphant than Portal and knock everyone's socks off.

That's weird..... I just beat portal today, this is my third time, and nothing like this happened. It's updated a few times since I got it. Makes me question the validity of all this.

Companion sphere? Pyramid?

... there's a pyramid head joke in there somewhere, I'm sure.

well, would a portal 2 really be good? i mean, portal was so original, but making a second one, that's kinda like bioshock 2. not much is different really, it only seems like that.

Its the same ending but about 5 seconds longer (to show you getting dragged away).

But yes, I think that's the most likely explanation.

Actually you get a Companion Sphere in one of the advanced maps, and it adds a lot of challenge to the map.

Comparing Valve to 2K is like comparing a steak house to Burger King. Burger King does do good beef, but nowhere near the quality of a prime rib.
Maybe not the best analogy, but one thing that keeps me going back to Valve is the lore and mystery they put into their games(Even TF2 with Pyro). Bioshock does give an intriguing story that you follow along in the audio recordings and writings, but I haven't encountered any atmosphere of mystery in a space where my imagination ran amok wondering what happened. Things left cleverly blank for the player to wonder about is one of the factors towards replayability. One would think Portal is a one time game but I have replayed it over a dozen times now, and still am not sure who it really is who wrote on the walls in the backrooms. In fact with this last run I have begun to wonder why there is an entire computer lab watching over a sludge pit. Makes me wonder if it was that way before things went haywire. Perhaps it was the original portal gun testing chamber? The world may never know. Since I finished HL2EP2 my mind's been going crazy wondering how the Borealis might tie into the Enrichment Center.
Anyway, don't let your letdown by Bioshock 2 take away from anticipation for Portal 2 or HL Episode 3. I am quite optimistic that we are in for a 'Woah!' moment from both. And these days optimism isn't an often thing with me.

Yeah, but I mean an honest to god, hearts all over Companion Sphere xD (Although it better not be like the advanced map <_<) I was kinda lost on objects.

Companion Cone, that better?
