The same way the first and second generation PS1 games worked after the Dual Shock was introduced. They just won't use it. The problem is not the controls so much the rumor it won't have a umd drive. It appears Sony will do to early adopters what it did to people who bought the PS2 hard drive, give them a big fat thumb in their eye.Indigo_Dingo said:You still haven't said how the earler PsP's would run the new games if they introduced a second analogue stick. Until then, you're just being idiotic.Digikid said:Agreed. Sony needs to smarten up and NOW.Jiraiya72 said:Too bad there's no fucking second analog stick. I love Sony but this is just idiotic.
You could see Microsoft buying out the entirety of Sony? Let me repeat that; Microsoft buying out the ENTIRETY of SONY. Think about it, Sony is a humongous company that isn't going away soon, if one section is going bad they still have home electronics, movie industry, music industry, etc.0p3rati0n said:*thinks about it* nnnnnnnnnnnno I could see that happening. Anythings possible. Microsoft might buy it out just so they belong to them. But that doesn't mean Sony disappears from the earth.Frank_Sinatra_ said:Yes but think about the rumor. The absurdity of it is well... Absurd.0p3rati0n said:it's a rumor! WOW it doesn't mean it's going to happen. I just heard it on a different website that's all.Frank_Sinatra_ said:Really Microsoft buying out one of the biggest electronic companies in the world? Where have I been? Oh thats right, I've been on planet Earth, not bizzaro world.0p3rati0n said:Oh please! Why does Sony keep trying!? They know DS is more popular, advanced, and better. I hope that rumor of Microsoft buying out Sony comes true.
I'm not sure that they're really asking you to throw your DS in a fire...swaki said:it sure looks pretty, but the prettiness wont make me trow my ds lite into a fire and start camping out for it, looking forward to new info.
You know, when I look at it, it does seem alot like the DS with it's screens folded out, just a little curved at the edges.SuperFriendBFG said:The thing looks like an ergonomic nightmare. I can't see myself being comfortable for hours playing that thing.
I think he means 'ergonomic nightmare' by the placement of the thumbstick, which I could see but I felt no real problem with my friends PSP.Jumplion said:You know, when I look at it, it does seem alot like the DS with it's screens folded out, just a little curved at the edges.SuperFriendBFG said:The thing looks like an ergonomic nightmare. The current PSP has sold over 50 million units. So, double that, it's 100 million units. Total it is 150 million units. The DS has sold over 100 million units.thiosk said:even if twice as many psp go's are sold as psps that have been sold already, there the DS will still have an install base many millions of units larger.
The PsP LoL is not nearly sexy enough, but if it has a good battery life and is hackable, i could forsee myself getting one to run NES and SNES emulators on.
Eh, the thumbstick I've used below the D-Pad is very uncomfortable after long use for me. The nub to the side of it resembles the dualshock controller, so I'd imagine I'd be more comfortable with that.Frank_Sinatra_ said:I think he means 'ergonomic nightmare' by the placement of the thumbstick, which I could see but I felt no real problem with my friends PSP.
It's certainly a nice added bonus but personally I don't care about it and it's not entirely necessary to enjoy the system like some people claim. Playing emulators on it is sweet but it's something that one shouldn't lose sleep over. Get enough good PSP games and you'll be plenty occupied to worry about homebrew. Well thats my case anywaysJumplion said:I will be getting a PSP soon, but I don't plan on hacking it. But I have to ask, is getting homebrew for it really worth it? I'm one of those law-abiding goodie-two-shoes that has a tenancy to break electronics when I have no idea what the hell I'm doing with them.

This. Photosop is fairly powerful. Until it is official, I refuse to believe any of it.-Seraph- said:I'll truly believe it until I officially see it because all I gotta say is "WHY SONY...WHY". As cool as the concept is it's unnecessary at this time. It better damn well still support UMD's, oh and cue second analog stick whiners in 3...2...
I was going under the math of "even if twice as many psp go's are sold as psps that have been sold already, there the DS will still have an install base many millions of units larger."thiosk said:from vg chartz:Jumplion said:Soooo........do the math
103.70 million vs 47.73 million. my math is valid!
And homebrew on my Wii is really the number one reason I own it.
Okay, so the PSP has sold about 50 million units, around half of the DSs current install base.Rigs83 said:SoChuck it in the closet with your virtual boys, lynx, and wonder swans and move on. Sony needs to regain the console market before it should go for the hand helds again.
If they move or switch the nub over to where the Select/Start buttons are they would have a license to mint money and the people demanding 2 nubs can stop complaining. Sony I prefer cash for fixing your mistakes.Jumplion said:I'm not sure that they're really asking you to throw your DS in a fire...swaki said:it sure looks pretty, but the prettiness wont make me trow my ds lite into a fire and start camping out for it, looking forward to new info.

Doesn't seem too uncomfortable to use, though using the DS alot does give me cramps.
Didn't the Advance SP flip open and closed like a cell phone? I get all the different Nintendo handheld versions mixed up. This thing looks like it slides open and closed. Anyway, I think it looks pretty neat.Cpt_Oblivious said:That looks horrible. Like they're ripping off the Game Boy Advance SP or whatever it was called.
