After reading the article, it turns out that the author meant games that weren't given enough respect as they should have. That's why the actually important ones aren't on the list. I voted for Disgaea because it injected a little fun into its story.

Well played, Escapist, I actually have to think about this one! I'll probably just say Animal Crossing because of how much I was addicted to the DS version.

I have to vote "None of the Above" since the only one on the list I've even heard of is Fable II.

After reading the article, I'm gonna go with Harvest Moon because it's the one on the list I enjoyed the most

Um...I think these guys missed April Fool's by a few months. Or are they serious and actually think these games are actually the most influential? Heck, they're not even the most influential of the last decade, much less of all time. I didn't vote, because this is simply ridiculous.

I don't think... yeah, I haven't actually played any of those games. As far as my personal universe is concerned, they never actually happened. Seriously though, Godzilla? This is an actual list of influential games published somewhere?

hmmm I have no idea. Four Swords was pretty popular if I recall.

Dunno what Fable's supposed to have done. Or Godzilla.

I think I'll go with Disgaea. It brought us hours upon hours of limitless gaming without getting boring.

i'm gonna have to say not a single one of those. well, maybe 4 swords, because it did a great job proving that even a Zelda game can be complete shit :p

Haven't played or heard of most of those games on the list. The fable series is fairly well known, of course, and maybe Harvest Moon. The idea of Harvest Moon giving birth to Farm Ville, however, seems less like a selling point and more like a reference to the movie "The Omen".

If you want games that changed the industry without people realizing it, I'd go with something like Carmageddon or Syndicate Wars myself.

That's an aweful list. I only picked Disgaea because out of the games on there I haven't played (shows how influential they are), Disgaea's the only one I've considered trying.

None of them have changed gaming very much. I chose Harvest Moon because out of the pool, it can be credited with having inspired Farmville... which is played by an enormous gamer and non-gamer audience, some of whom spend exhorbitant sums of money on in game items. So, it's wildly successful and it soft-bridges whole demographics into gaming that aren't otherwise receptive. Harvest Moon is crouched behind the throne. Therefore, vote.

Animal Crossing. Why? It was the start of THAT genre. Don't pretend like you don't know what I mean. It's THAT genre. The genre of games that might as well fuse to your wrist because you will never stop playing them. They're so simple, and are basically doing the same thing over and over again for days and days, but you just can't stop playing it!
The deadliest weapon known to mankind? A DS Lite armed with Animal Crossing: Wild World and Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town.

I dont really understand the list as these games haven't really influenced the world greatly. But if I had to pick, it would be a tie between Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing just because they seem to be the first hugely popular Casual Games.

Even though Harvest Moon is for HARDCORE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO SAVE THE WORLD THROUGH FARMING. YEAAAAAAAAAH!
