It was litirally a Cliff Hanger. I never thought I see that done.Sniper Team 4 said:I think the ending to last night's episode was hilarious. Big serious fight with Jack just standing there after his victory looking cool and collected...and then the tree breaks and he falls. I admit I actually laughed. Way to break the tension there.
And since he clearly survives the fall, we know Ashi did as well, and possibly the other two. Which makes me happy because I would have been disappointed if the Daughters were only in the show for that long. Pretty sure that Jack is going to help Ashi see the light by the end of the series now.
Also, best line: "So, you're staying then."
Well not really a cliff hanger so much as it is a cliff faller. This is a literal cliff hanger.Samtemdo8 said:It was litirally a Cliff Hanger. Good God, that is a gosh darn throwback if I've ever seen one.erttheking said:Well not really a cliff hanger so much as it is a cliff faller. This is a literal cliff hanger.

I really do hope he becomes an immortal king and rebuilds the world with all the people he's helpedSweetShark said:I am very curious if the developers of the new Season connect the story with the events which happened in the comics.
Specifically the last one:

I never read the comics, but keep in mind this version of Jack is also connected with the image The Guardian saw in one of the Time Portals he had been guarding [still guarding?].
EDIT:
Ok, I was lucky and found easily a readable scan of the comic.
I must say.....if the even of the comics are connected with the new Season, it would be MUCH MORE DARK than it is now!

Anyway.
Wowee, wow, things have gotten darker.
I like how we've eased our way to it though instead of abrupt death and violence, it would have been easy to go that route, really manhandle that Adult Swim privilege but no, we gradually made our way to the truly copious amounts of blood and violence on display here.
Like that shot of him in the dark with only his blood defining his features and him taking the knife out and the blood gushing out, that was pretty scary, quite honestly.
Now for the good stuff.
Damn, he worked through the Daughters *efficiently*. I wanted to say quickly but the sheer, I don't know, professionalism of his fighting made me want to use the word "efficiently". Seriously, Jack not holding back and actually killing is amazing to watch, from an action standpoint, I'll go into the morals and stuff in just a sec but for now, man, it's intense stuff.
As for the storytelling aspect of Jack killing, I like it a lot. He comes to terms with it fast, probably hence the "your actions are reflections of yourself". I don't think he sees himself as a cold-blooded killer but I think he sees himself as have already crossed that line so he might as well keep going, and I'm with him.
I'm usually all for no-killing if that's what the character is about but the Daughters are not opponents that would go down easy, I don't really blame him.
And hey, it's on Adult Swim now, smoke if you got 'em.
Last thought: Okay, what is with the ghost horseback samurai... guy? I don't know anything about him other than Jack really doesn't want to go near him but what's his grand significance?
I don't know if I'm asking questions that already have answers or are yet to be revealed but I'd at least like to know which one it is so I can either keep my mouth shut and wait my turn or get in the loop.
Dude you posted that image like three times already, we get the jokeSamtemdo8 said:I like to ask your thoughts on this.Extra-Ordinary said:snip.erttheking said:Well not really a cliff hanger so much as it is a cliff faller. This is a literal cliff hanger.
As of episode 3 is this image now validated?
Yeah, you can cool it with that comic.PapaGreg096 said:Dude you posted that image like three times already, we get the jokeExtra-Ordinary said:I like to ask your thoughts on this.

The point is when I first saw those images I was kinda making a bet to see if they do get validated/proven true that Jack on Adult Swim was the right choice and that if it was rebooted in current Teen Titans Go and PPG reboot land, it would suffer.Extra-Ordinary said:Yeah, you can cool it with that comic.PapaGreg096 said:Dude you posted that image like three times already, we get the jokeExtra-Ordinary said:I like to ask your thoughts on this.

But in the spirit of discussion, I'd like to answer your question but I'm not sure I understand what you mean when the "image [is] now validated".
Are you asking if I think reviving Jack on Adult Swim was the right choice?
If so, the short answer's "yes", I'd go on as little (as I'm wont to do) but I don't wanna throw another wall of text at you if I'm missing the point.
Then I stand by my answer, yes, I do believe Samurai Jack moving to Adult Swim was the best move.Samtemdo8 said:The point is when I first saw those images I was kinda making a bet to see if they do get validated/proven true that Jack on Adult Swim was the right choice and that if it was rebooted in current Teen Titans Go and PPG reboot land, it would suffer.
And the image was proven right. The artist who made that image must have won many bets.
Okay but that doesn't mean you have to spam the comic every pageSamtemdo8 said:The point is when I first saw those images I was kinda making a bet to see if they do get validated/proven true that Jack on Adult Swim was the right choice and that if it was rebooted in current Teen Titans Go and PPG reboot land, it would suffer.Extra-Ordinary said:Yeah, you can cool it with that comic.PapaGreg096 said:Dude you posted that image like three times already, we get the jokeExtra-Ordinary said:I like to ask your thoughts on this.

Third option: They both finally go back in time and defeat Aku in Jack's past. Ashi stays after that and possibly becomes a love interest.Samtemdo8 said:Welp, I called it, you called it, we all called it, but the implications is something we have no idea.
What am I talking about? This and it is a BIG spoiler:

Another different one to prove its legit:

Now what I think:
Ashi lives and becomes basically Jack's apprentice and they either have a Father/Daughter relationship or Lovers (funny enough Jack is technically a Virgin....), but the biggest question is the possible resolution to all this. I am calling either these 2 things:
1. Jack dies during the fight against Aku or the fight along the way to Aku and Ashi does the finishing blow.
2. Ashi uses her training from Jack to fight and defeat that Aku Cult Leader Lady that birthed her and Jack fights Aku and wins but dies in the process
I say dies because so far this series seems to be framing that Jack will die in the end but perhaps he might still succeed in defeating Aku
At first I thought "didn't she die already?" but then I noticed the hair is slightly different.Samtemdo8 said:Snip
Option four: Jack goes back, she stays to undo Aku's evil.hermes said:Snip
