I have to say I found the museum level remarkably easy compared to the club. Not that I finished the museum, but starting it at age 56 I was kinda mopping the floor with everyone.
Once you reach 40+ age, you do more damage, but you become a glass cannon. So everyone's health drops mad fast. Once you defeat a certain enemy, you will get the elevator card key, and can go just straight to the boss if you want on your next run.

I finished the museum at 31. I got to the second phase of the boss for stage 4, but I died until game over. I do recommend that you bring a weapon with you when facing these bosses. Makes things much easier. Also, there is cool mechanic where if you break a bosses stamina meter and press TRI+ CRCL (like you would with any mook), the fight will automatically go to the next phase. If you do the same during the second phase, the boss automatically dies.

I do like that there are some permanent events like the shortcuts. So when you are going back through the game to try and beat it at an early age, you can turn the whole game into a boss rush with how fast the shortcuts get you to bosses.

So... yeah... f*** this game?

I couldn't help myself. I bought it. And liked it at first.
Then I got The Club. And I am realizing either I suck or this game is kind of bullshit. Considering that others are getting up to the museum, I guess it's me, but still :(

Mostly I am having a really hard time consistently figuring out enemy tells. Of course I can go through regular grunts, but mini-bosses and real bosses will attack and then, ok, I block or deflect. Well, even when I successfully do either or both, my "structure" is wiped and I'm dead. Oookkkkaaayyy..

So I guess it's time to dodge. Ok, great- dodge once, dodge twice, dodge 3x, I am Muhammed Ali you can't catch me... but then they jump back and a mile and I can't hit them so I'm stuck never ending a fight? So I gotta try hitting and HAHAHA ASSHOLE GET REKKED. oookkkkaaayyy..

Of course this culminate in the second boss with the stick. I can dodge like 75% of his hits. I have to dodge because blocking kills me which... you know, f*** that. But I can't hit him because he runs away after swinging his stick 7 times or whatever.

ugh

There is an Easy Mode/Easier Difficulty patch coming out later, with other continent updates. So you'll be able to at least play at a lower skill level and difficulty if need be. Just come back to the game later. I would say try God Hand out, but I think you'll have similar feelings. Though that one is way more balanced by comparison. Still a difficult game. Plus, I don't know if you have a PS2, an old fat PS3, or PC that can run a PS2 emulator.

The Club is a high difficulty spike. A lot of people die there, because they're not used to the combat or don't know how to dodge properly. Sean definitely does not help though. Once I figured out his pattern, he mostly became manageable. I still died once to him though, because I got too eager.

I kinda figured out Sean's pattern! I just don't understand the movements to deal with it... yet (?)
I'm gonna keep at it until Elden Ring. Because I'm playing the same level over and over again I can do it while listening to stream/casts.

I think it's cool they're adding easier difficulty levels. I can understand the approach they were going for, but man, this game looks so great visually, with its great animations and art style, it would be nice to just breeze through knocking motherfuckers out.

You know some games unlock harder modes when you beat them. How cool would it be to have sofu unlock the easy mode only after you best the default mode. Earn your god mode! Hahaha!

Of course people playing on pc can just use WeMod to make godmode happen already. So there is that option.

Ironicaly enough, one of the Pokemon games on the DS does this. I don't remember, but I do know Pat and Woolie talked about it. Pat was the one to bring it up in one of their podcasts.

I mean technically a lot of games do this. Like beating resident evil with s rank gets you infinite ammo magnums and rocket launchers allowing for "godmode" playthroughs. It isnt a new concept per say. I just think it would be a funny troll for people who cry about easy modes in everything.

Sifu is not doing that probably. But the difficulty debate will pop up for elden ring next week too.

The thing with Resident Evil though, is that on your first playthrough, it's going to be difficult and you'll most likely die or not get the S rank. You're starting on a default difficulty, so there is at least a challenge. Some Resident Evil don't even have an easy mode in their vanilla versions, and only get one in their updated or expansion versions. There are some exceptions of course. The original RE1 is basically this: Jill is easy mode, and Chris is hard mode.

When you did get the infinite weapons or whatever, it still took multiple playthroughs to get your "easy mode or God mode".

As far as Elden Ring is concerned, it looks to be the easiest of the Dark Souls style of games. It's definitely looks more casual & beginner friendly, so those complain about difficulty will have no excuse at this point. The game is also way less cryptic and explain things, which was most problems people have with Dark Souls games that had little or no experience.

I dunno about that. Vityavidya said that ER is pretty fucking hard. And he is a veteran of the souls games.

Oh no, there still be a challenge, don't get me wrong. It's just as I mentioned, a lot of pathways and items to be less cryptic by a comparison to the older games. They're still going to be a challenge regardless.

I wonder how much it'll fall into the weird open world thing where you can stumble into an area WAY to high of a level for you without you reallizing it until you dead.

Last night I set myself a goal of trying to beat the first area The Squats with 0 deaths. Since obviously just getting past an area is not enough, you have to be young, too. So I figured, let me perfect The Squats and be done with it.

Lol... epic fail. I get to that room with like 50 guys and I'm good for a while but then the camera puts me in some corner behind a pillar and I'm done. I made it to the boss one time and I was so exhausted I forgot he had a machete.

If you find the keys to the warehouse, you can skip all that shit and only have to fight like 5 dudes before the boss room. Makes having zero deaths WAY easier.

I dunno how many keys there are supposed to be... I have one set that lets me open a door early in the level and lets me skip going up the stairs and jumping across buildings. But I still haven't gotten around this big room full of enemies after that.

The key you'll be looking for is in the club. You'll have to get to a certain point or check an alternate route there. I don't know exactly where, but I know I got the key from the club. Then I went back into the first level and only died once. It was during the second phase of the first boss.
