I'm sorry, the way the article was worded made it seem like the eagle was a recent addition rather than one from a choice of options, one of which was the eagle. I apologise for the strong inference of irrational national pride and substitute it for a weak one. Also, Batman is an American creation as well. Just sayin'
Now I don't know that much about Wonder Woman, but she's best known by the general public as a type of female role model. She was regarded as a Feminist icon during the 60's and 70's, demonstrating that women could be just as capable as men (or super-powered men, as the case may be).
Somehow I don't think the producers were thinking "female role model" when they designed this particular costume. I understand Wonder Woman is known also for her beauty, but it seems like this is just blatant male fan-service with the over-accentuated boobage factor.

Speaking of "Girl Power", who else wants to see a Live Action Power Girl? EPIC BOOBS ARE EPIC.Gaderael said:Wow. Wonder Woman the TV show's going to crash and burn pretty quick, no matter how "boobalicious" the costume is."slightly goofy comedy-drama ... packed with Girl Power pop-songs,"
They could have made Wonder Woman some cool, like in the comics, but instead they have to rely on T&A and non-serious storylines, as who's going to believe a serious female superhero?*
Girl-power pop songs? What the fuck are those? Ugh.
*sarcasm.
