Escort missions.
Sorry, but I had a good chuckle at your user picture.

OT: If we're not being realistic, then time constraints when developing.

The gaming world would be better without controversy and stupid news reports trying to cash in on a big story because we don't enjoy first amendment rights. Games are a form of art, and as such deserve the right to express views and ideals without attacks from the news. such as 6 days in fallujah, people complained about it because it was "To soon" however those same people go home and play modern warfare 2 or other rs games. it's because they wanted something to complain about.

Gaming Elitists who feel some games like so called mindless FPS's and generic brown shooters are inferior to them and thus anyone who plays such games are also inferior.

Can't everyone get along? We're all playing games we enjoy, we're all supporting the industry, we're all having fun. You shouldn't judge someone by the games they play so long as they are having fun, as surely that is the point?

Except squeaky voiced preteens and Zynga players, judge away.

MMOs, in particular, World of Warcraft. Wow, this game sucks some serious ass but for some fucked up reason, everybody seems likes it... How does that work?
Because clearly it doesn't suck some serious ass, you don't have to like it but that doesn't mean others won't like it either.

Androgynous protagonists, seriously, you have a male that looks like a girl and a girl that sounds and acts like a guy.

Genocide of Russians and Germans while still acting like your doing the good thing, a lot of war games are guilty of this, adding in loads of Americans killing even more Russians and Germans then acting like they saved the world.

Voice communication. <- this has changed many games from being immersive to being brag fests and ego boosting or basically just too much goofing around/nonsensical chat by immature kids. VC = sore ears. That, and raiding in MMOS actually used to be fun and challenging before VC. Now you just gather up a bunch of lazy goofs and throw instructions at them. Watch half of them die, and the others obey and you win 100% of the time.

Nintendo Wii. It was a nice attempt at something new but it's just too different from playing with a real controller. Not fun imo.

Vibrating controllers. This function is in almost every game now, and it eats through battery power like... well you get the idea yeah? It's also annoying and throws off your precision when aiming or driving etc.

Modern day Graphics. Yes you heard me! I don't want pac-man graphics but, now-a-days too much money, time and effort is going into making the games pretty. Games don't need to look nice, they need to play nice first and foremost! Once they're fun to play, make the graphics as pretty as you want! I'm looking at you, video games with 3-9 hour campaigns! No excuse for that!

Clones. Yes clones! Games that try to almost exactly copy another game, hoping to win out on the cash flow, but fail! These are such a waste of money.

A recent example I've experienced:

TimeShift < Half-Life (You get a 'well-known' physicist in a super suit, and you shoot stuff in 1st person mode... in both games).

There are so many others, but I think I've contributed enough to the thread, that and my brain is starting to hurt :O

DAM CAMPERS!!!! you no who you are.
Camps you.

No seriously, if camping is OP then the game needs to be rebalanced, though defensive strategies tend to be slightly more powerful due to the nature of offense vs. defense. I personally enjoy adaptive defensive play and if you don't like it you can eat my lead/hadoken/f-smash/archers/whatever.

XBL.

Cliffhanger endings.

Americans (as protagonists. Seriously, there are other fucking countries in the world, and it would be nice to see a real-world game that DOESN'T consist of "Generic Yank shoots Nazis / Russians / Muslims".)

Too many cutscenes. I want to play the game, not watch it. Bayonetta, Battlefield Bad Company 2, etc.

Crates. And too many things scattered around the level that you feel pressure to collect to be powerful enough to finish the game.

Complicated menu and save systems. F5 quicksave, F9 quickload. That's all I need. It is so difficult to get out of Asscreed that I just press Alt-F4.

Moral Guardians and Media Watchdogs.

It is my humble opinion that the world in general would be better without those groups.
I dunno, ever since Jack Thompson's shut up there's been a little hole in my heart. I think having a common hate figure to unite against can do wonders for a community.

Hell, it's a reoccuring theme of humanity in general.

Fanboys of anything and everything. Unfortunately, hatred seems to reign supreme among the indifferent and bored "no-one understands me" demographic, which then grows up into the "I am so much better than everyone else" people that should just go to the #chans and stay there.

Quick time events, 10 year olds, trash talkers, un-earned teabagging (when someone teabags you for no reason, like you killing three of his friends before you are overwhelmed by him and the rest of his team), and balanced teams (fuck you Reach. I am sick of playing against Generals with Warrant Officers on my team >.>)
Or teabagging after they crouch-camp you with the energy sword. And anyway, rank doesn't mean anything in Halo Reach. A W.O. could have just as much killing power as a Gen.
Oh I know that, and it is usually the case.
I am just frustrated when I get paired up with someone that doesn't know how to play the game, against someone who has a 2.0 KD, and 50k kills...

For me it's QTEs, Exclusives, and glitches.
Glitches never used to bother me that much but those were the days before New Vegas.

Which reminds me, the gaming world would be better off with franchisaside. Burnout and GTA were two of my favorite franchises from last gen and two of my least favorite for this gen.
I don't understand why Burnout got rid of Crash Junctions and I don't understand why GTA got rid of all the cool in-game rewards.
