Just got it off Steam yesterday, and I love it. Except on my first go-around, I completely missed Megaton (Amazing, I know) and ran around killing mole rats and Raiders, or trying to kill Raiders, since those bastards run around in packs.

And sadly, despite my love of being an unstoppable immortal badass who would rather curbstomp someone's face than ignore it, I'm raking in the Karma points like mad. I suppose it's because of the goofy word choice set there by the writers make it seem more like I'm just some Vault-born idiot looking for my dad rather than a badass scavenger hardened by the dangers of the Wasteland.

Oh wait.

Surely blowing up megaton counts as killing children, if it's that important to you? There are two of the little scrotes living there after all.

(I take it we no longer have to spoiler the whole destruction of megaton thing anymore?)

Currently I'm still wavering about getting this game (I've already pre-ordered it and then returned it). To all of those people wh've got the game: How well does it stick to the themes and ideas of the original Fallout?

just wondering, but was I the only one to pull a fat man off the corpse of a dead bos knight after your first behemoth fight? It also came with seven rounds. I'm afraid to use it too much, however, because I might need it later. Also, does anyone else notice how sparse ammo is in this game? I like it, it makes a challenge and makes it feel more like a nuculer wasteland. (argh, spelling...)

Not really that bad. I had trouble at the start getting energy cells but now scaling is making energy cells appear quite often in ammunition.

The trouble with Fallout 3 is:

Its an oblivion reskin, which I suddenly felt as I was running like a ponce from one place to another like a combat shotgun to the balls. Yes, the graphics are good, the engine's been mostly fixed up, but its still Oblivion.

But that said, most of the time it doesn't feel like oblivion when you're blowing a supermutant's head off with three rounds from a combat shotgun. the V.A.T.S system is brilliant for dismembering your opponents in a variety of bloody ways, but, like all good things, it gets alittle old after you've blown off 20 limbs and acouple heads, ending up being used for the ultimate 'FUCK YOU' when you fire off another shotgun slug into another raiders neck and have it fall off.

I did have an amusing experience with a wasteland dog though, it snuck up on me like my ex-girlfriend and leaped from a nearby rock straight at my face. I pulled my laz-pistol and VAT'ed the bugger mid-flight, aimed for the head and fired. "CRITICAL HIT" the game said as vapourised dog whafted past me, still glowing, to which I stated "HAH! that'll teach him".

I suppose I could write some more, but I doubt anyone will read it or understand it (Hungover and sleepy), so that's what you get gents and lady.

Well, if the mods are good enough, I might just pirate the game and play the proper Fallout 3.

I just want some mods now! I bet you $5 somebody will mod it so you can kill the children, just to give the developers the finger. One complaint i have with Fallout 3 is that like oblivion there is still not enough going on the wastelands sometimes, it needs more travellers, more raiders and more monsters. Hopefully somebody will create a mod for that, they did in Oblivion and it was great.
Give it a month or two. This game is just asking to be modified.
And I bet bethesda is going to pull a horse armor and make the 360 people pay for DLC that has no real purpose.

*spoiler*

Don't believe that whole bullshit about hundreds of endings highly influenced by your action's in game. All that karma, all that talk about innovation, and your game-long choices amount to less end-screen difference then two choices made LITERALLY at the last few seconds of the game. And there's only 12 endings. ARgh! Freaking liars.

THERES A STAKE GUN! Rivet City, Fine Abraham Washington. Do his quest. Find railway spikes. Gun fires railway spikes and pins people to walls.

Requires steam gauge assembly, Fission Battery, Pressure cooker, And a crutch.

Also, 51 frag mines.. I am thinking about barricading myself in somewhere. :D

The proper?
The one that actually has some semblance to a Fallout game.
You know any criticism that anyone can conjure up and stick it in my face is quickly destroyed by the thought that the game has fire breathing ants and a gun that shoots tedys of doom.

I dunno why but it just does.

Bulletinmybrain, thanks for the tip! I already got around 500 spikes, i knew they were of some use so i never sold them!

OFF TO THE MUSEUM OF PAIN!
Lol I dunno if its a small gun but who cares? IT PINS BADDIES TO WALLS.

Also super sledge somewhere in the national archives if someone who likes to smash people would like one.

Also if you make it to the underworld they have a trade going on. 5 bits of scrap metal for a stimpack or Rad-X or Rad-Away.

Fort Independence has a similar trade expect they want futuristic technology. I traded two nearly broken laser pistols for 4 stim-packs. >.> Fort Independence also is willing to trade 5.56, Frag Nades, and Rad-Away from some technology.

Power Fist in UnderWorld at the shop pretty much as soon as you come in. And a ripper. And a laser rifle...Missle Launcher...(Hopefully its not just scaling towards me. And she has 600+ Caps to trade with.

Just fought the first Super Mutant Behemoth, really was fairly anticlimactic, the thing came around the corner and I was like: "Ohhhh...Fuckberries"
Pumped a few hunting rifle rounds into it's head, grabbed the Fat Man and blew the thing away, they really should not have put the Fat Man there.

Also, I love my ghoul mask, got so much experience just by going around some tunnels near GNR and getting Sneak Attack Criticals on them all.

Oon mine, they said I was management material but I forget what the exact title was. The questions were pretty funny too in a weird sort of way. On some of them it was hard to decide which answer I liked best.
