Any tips on how to level up quicker, Bulletinmybrain?
Do quests. Thats about as best I could tell you. Leveling up science and lockpick are decent helps for gradual xp. But I would say take your chosen gun skill to 75 and then move lockpick and science to 50 as soon as possible.

XP is much harder in this game. :(

Woot! I am making super mutants my ***** with hunting-rifle+VATS. :D
I finally started putting points in energy weapons because I've been using them a lot. Game got easy FAST. Tesla armor + cyborg + plasma rifle = dead everything.

Also, mysterious stranger has actually saved my ass. I was running out of ammo and his assistance helped me from spending too much of mine. I love being the lucky, fast talking, good with his hands, scientific bastard that I am.

Holy shit, that thing is gigantic, what mission is it in?

Also, what level should I be and what guns should I carry when I head out for the GNR building?
Someone please confirm that GNR has the single most kickass DJ ever.
Oh, and anyone know what the other radio stations in the game are?

It's the main quest i think. Just after you reach megaton you are sent to that bar to talk to the Scottish **** and he sends you there.

But seriously, if i didn't do 1 or 2 side quests i would never be able to take that thing down...

Take at least a rifle. And you should be level 3-4 minimum. That was on hard and i was level 6 i think and you can see how much health i lose just with one swing...
My first question is why are you aiming at his arm? Head>Better then anything.

So, stock up on stimpacks, I have a rifle and am almost level six

I know, I got my ass kicked by some of the raiders closer to the building(and I had a minigun)

EDIT: Oh yeah, a heads up:
If you get a room in Tenpenny Tower and accept the Ghoul quest, DO NOT TRY TO GET THE GHOULS IN PEACEFULLY! They end up killing the humans anyway and if you wanted that, you might as well just talk to Dashwood to get the key to let them in

You actually went into the battlefield? You know if you go right in front of the door to the GNR, he can't get there so you could pick him off little by little and he'll never go to you. He's too big and he only has melee :D but I guess yours made a better video than what mine would've been.

I still didn't get all of this VATS stuff trough...

My logic was. Big monster holding big thing in arm. I VAT arm. Arm fall. Me happy. Monster cry.

But i guess that doesn't happen huh?

Btw is the hunting rifle worth it? That piece of junk is too inaccurate for my taste..
Its the best use for .32 rounds. Hell I find it pretty dang accurate.(Then again I am level 8...)

Anyways, I dunno maybe hitting them in the arm might be useful but my way of winning is to try and kill every monster in one round of VATS. So I pack weapons and go head-hunting. >.>

Mate, you can get the Fat Man nuke launcher from a dead soldier nearby. If i wanted to i would make the fight a 1 hit kill. But what fun would that be?

Anyways what's your skill with guns Bulletinmybrain?
Cause i think I'm a little behind on that and it's gonna hurt my development..
I got small guns level 76. Also I would like to mention snipers can zoom. :D I one hitted a super mutant from across the entire wasteland as soon as the draw distance kicked in so I could see him. It was fucking awesome.(Also commando is a must have perk to anyone who uses 2 handed weapons and uses VATS.)

That was pretty cool, why did you keep going for the arm?

Have you ever thought of enlisting jericho from megatons help?
I'm too goody goody for him apparently...that is, I was too goody goody for him until I blew up megaton, and now he's dead, but yes, I know he kicks ass, I've fought against him.

Actually I'm not sure item finds are 100% set in stone... I think it has to do with luck. (in-game and RL :p)

Just like encounters aren't set... some guy found a rocket-launcher using raider early on in the game I hear... While I only encountered them after I got enclave power armor. (it was like... robocop or something. I kept coming very very slowly because I was holding 3 power armors.)

Good point. This happened in Oblivion very often as well.
Yeah, I rescued a captive and once he gave me two purified waters(which I really needed at that point) and the next he gave me a few spare parts, it's really a crapshoot, even with high luck
