I liked exploring around, and some of the combat was rather fun (if unchallenging). However, the ending was the worst (and sloppiest) since Neverwinter Nights 2, and it made me trade in the game that very afternoon. I will NEVER replay a game that "rewards" you in such a manner, and to make matters even worse, your choices throughout the game did not matter more than just slighty. Saint or genocidal maniac made little difference, is what I'm saying.
The original Fallouts showed the consequences of your passing through each location - this one disregards that aspect entirely.
Good going, Bethesda, you really disappointed me as much as I had feared. I want my 35+ hours back.

Well, I'm about 3+ hours into the game and I get the impression I've only scratched the surface. However, there's something I need help with.

Is it a good idea to nuke Megaton early on or no? I just want to ask now before I make a decision in-game I'll later regret.
To me, no. Just make sure you stop in and pick up the strength bobble head from Lucas Simm's place and do the "Blood Ties" quest. You can not finish the "Wasteland Survival Guide quest, as a few days after the nuking, Moria Brown shows up in Underworld.

Also, I was looking around on a wikia: While Raven Rock is a reference to the Elder Scrolls, it's a real military base in Pennsylvania called 'the back up pentagon' or 'the underground pentagon'. While most of it's purposes are classified, the government discourages mentions of it's unclassified things. Which is why you can read about it on wikipedia.

Also, anyone know where the market in Old Oney is?
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_map

That town is dangerous, careful.
I've already killed every Deathclaw in town with the help of Dogmeat and my stalwart ghoul manservant Argyle...I mean Charon.
I'm just doing that quest where you have to find the Nuka-Cola Quantum and a report I have says that some was shipped to a market in Old Oney, but I can find a single grocer in that town, anyone know where one is?
Also, where'd you get them schematics RGP?
I did a small side-quest for Banon in Rivet City. You know, the black guy that runs the clothing shop.

Talk to him. How many companions can you have with you? Anyone?
I heard somewhere it was a maximum of 7+Dogmeat
And about Bannon, I got the quest, I poked around in Seagrave Holmes computer files, but when I returned to Bannon it wouldn't let me talk to him about it
But you can't have all at once seeing some are only for good and some only for bad.
Well if you get a good person then turn bad they don't care, so technically you can have a bunch

Really? I really liked how they avoided the typical "I want to be a complete evil bastard and not help anyone and join the villains" thing. They let you choose the ending, and mix it up a bit too. They also didn't try to extend the gameplay by forcing you go and acquire parts for Liberty Prime or nonsense like that. I'm curious as to how you thought it should/would be, though.

I have a question you guys may be able to help with. I just went and explored that Minefield place -
Of course I had to deal with the crazy old sniper dude. But instead of just trying to kill him, I tried to yield to him (held x to holster my gun), with no success. I felt bad for killing him, he's not really a bad guy, he's just defending himself from slavers and raiders. I wanted to try and talk to him instead of fighting. Is that possible at all?

It's not possible, he's only looking out for slavers and does not listen to reason, I tried the same thing, the only way you can talk to him is by using the mesmetron and even then if you snap him out of it he'll either run or fight back again

That sucks :/ Poor old guy, consumed by his survival instinct. It would have been cool to talk him down.

Lol, awhile ago I fought a couple of Mad Brahmin. They surprised me because I saw them a ways off and I was like "Oh, it's just a couple Brahmin... wait, red dots! Where are they? Are they chasing the Brahmin?" It wasn't until the Brahmin were almost up in my grill that I realized they were the enemies. And it was pretty funny how it showed up as "Heads" in VATS.

I have a tendency to kill all my companions, whether it be through circumstance or by accident. Clover, Jericho and Sarge RL-3 have all died eventually because of my folly, which is weird because I equip the first two with top-of-the-line power armor and weapons yet somehow they never survive the situations I take them in to.

Also because I suppose some of it is my fault. For example, clearing out a hospital with Jericho on my first run. I had Light Step. He didn't. Hallway full of mines. Yeah...

Then there was Clover with a pack of Mirelurks and their King. Don't know how I got out of that one.

RL-3 and Old Olney. Hoo boy. I really thought the flamethrower would be more effective.

The lack of side quests was a total kick in the nads for me, and put on top of that Bethesda didn't include an SDK this time. I would literally be hopping around the entire Wasteland looking for NPCs to give me things to do.

Also, does anyone else here think Mr. Burke should be voiced by Mike Shapiro?

Supposedly the lack of the SDK and dev tools was because they weren't satisfied with them when they had to ship, so they didn't. Supposedly they'll be available for donwload later on.

It's even more cool to sell him into slavery.

They avoided the typical "I wanna be a bastard" thing only at the end, precisely by not letting you choose it - apart from one choice at the very end (for the record, I played as a saint and STILL doesn't agree with the ending). I am fair, I'll give it that it has 4 (or possibly 5, benefit of doubt) different endings (variations on the same theme though). Even if you count all variations of black and white stills, I don't think there are more than 50, and that's being EXTREMELY generous and nitpicking, since the difference won't even be noticeable to the average player.
Bethesda went out and touted more than 200 different endings depending on your actions, and later amended it to "more like 500". Sure, I didn't expect more than slight varitions for that number, but I DID expect my actions to amount to more than Ron Perlman basically saying "You were good" and "You were bad", respectively. Guess they went to the Molyneux school of PR.
But it wasn't the worst game I've played by far, which makes the end much more of a letdown.

To be fair, most of the hype didn't come from Bethesda, a lot came from Review sites
Also, anyone know how to equip your followers with different weapons and armor?

If it's the quantum you're after then I think what you're looking for is the crashed Nuka-Cola delivery truck just south west (I think) of the town - quite a few bottles in there. However didn't find an actual market so if anyone did, let me know.

I agree with those that say that the 'important decision' regarding Megaton was put into the player's hands far too early.

As for the rest of the game, it's a blast, but it's difficult for me even on Very Easy. I don't have much room for carrying items, and I'm constantly running out of ammunition or health. Any survival tips I should know?

Give me your T.A.G, and you weapon/skill information and I might tell you how to properly play your character.
Alright. My Strength is 5, Perception 6, Endurance 6, Intelligence 7, Charisma 5, Agility 6, Luck 5. I've got a bunch of pistols/handguns and the respective ammunition, two assault rifles, a bunch of healing items, and some other odds and ends. I'm level 2, and I chose to T.A.G. the following skills: Repair, Small Guns, and Medicine, since I want to be a self-sufficient scrounger that's pretty good with ranged weaponry.

I'm currently on the quest where the main character is looking for his/her dad at a Galaxy Radio station, and I'm at the Metro place halfway between Galaxy Radio and Megaton.

I need some help with Grayditch; I accepted the little brat's offer for me to find his dad, I explored Grayditch a little, found out said brat's father was dead, and now I can't find the brat anywhere. Can someone tell me where I can find him?
