Is there another way to get to Mr. Pinkerton besides that locked door on the other half of the ship? I have a lock pick skill of 92 (you need one of 100 too pick that lock) but it isn't getting any higher than that cause I maxed out my XP (lvl 20) and I'm not counting on getting all the "Tumblers Today" books.
Ain't there a lockpicking Bobblehead? You could go searching for that.

I went swimming around in the radioactive water, and got in that way. You don't need to unlock the door.

I did it with a lockpick of 95 and a dose of Mentat. That dose jumped my INT bonus enough to reach 100 effective skill, and four bobbypins (and three mightily-harsh words) later I got the door open.

Alas, he didn't provide me info to pursue the Replicated Man quest... I think I blew my Speech check for that. I had to settle for another way to finish that quest.

I did get the Bobblehead also, guess I'm gonna have to go swimming in those beautiful crystal clear waters. By the way: DEATH TO THE SLAVERS!! I just whiped out Paradise Falls yesterday, I blew those slavers sky high man, thoroughly; man that felt so gooood, nuking them, burning them, it was a site to see; what sucks is that I don't get anything for freeing those slaves (aside from the children).

Here's one for you: Is it possible to get yourself killed during VATS? I don't notice any health loss, whatsoever.
Yes. Damage resistance is higher during VATS, but you take damage. I have been killed during VATS.
I got killed by a deathclaw the other day during VATS, yet I believe its the only foe that can do this, since a single attack from it can cost you almost 1/4 of your health bar.
Most of the time, sure, since you don't often let your health get low enough. But it's still possible for anyone to kill you during VATS. When I was going to the GNR station, I ran out of health items halfway there, and kept going. I was down to single-figures health, when I had to fight a crowd of super mutants. Somebody shot me with a hunting rifle while I was VATSing, and I died. I got them, though. Luckily, they were the ones guarding the area with the sinks, so I could restore my health afterwards.

I went to Mama Dolce's factory today, my character is now slaughtering Muties in his Mao Tse-Tung style jump suit!
I found that place (and consequently the luck bubblehead) completely by accident. I have no idea what ghouls dressed in chinese army clothing where doing there, but take my word for it, they were up to nooooo gooood!
And they woulda gotten away with it too, if it weren't for me and my meddling Dogmeat!
Also, where's the bobblehead?

I'd like it a hell of a lot more if it didn't remind me of a buggy oblivion total conversion. 3rd person is dodgy as hell too. How you're supposed to shoot at something when the crosshairs are covered by your body, i don't know.

So many problems with the pc version of this game. I honestly believe that bethesda should never have been allowed to make this game. Someone reputable and known for quality should have gotten it.

Like... Bethesda?
Anyhoo, I just encountered a cool Super Mutant versus Enclave battle in the middle of a four-way intersection with cars exploding everywhere. It was like someone let off a chain reaction of nukes. It was unexpected and freakin' terrifying, wandering down an abandoned street at midnight then seeing an Osprey land and deploy seven Enclave soldiers to face off against a group of Mutants. They didn't even notice me and I tried to pick off the Enclave troopers with my hunting rifle. After the battle I walked all the way back to Megaton, over-encumbered with tonnes of Power Armour and Gatling Lasers.

Yes, Fallout 3 rocks.

No. Certainly not bethesda. They haven't released a properly functioning pc game since arena. Funny how the exactly same problems that were in the pc version of oblivion are in fallout 3, plus a whole host of new ones. At this point, I'd have preferred even EA. At least they can actually code for multi-gpu and dual/quad-core systems.

To be fair, maybe you should play it on console before you say it's a bad game, console games don't crash as much and you sound to me like someone pissed off just because their PC is having issues, most of which are caused by DRM, not the game itself.

Eh, it's your computer. If you have a console you could trade your copy in for a console version, although it won't have any mods. Maybe Dogmeat armour if you're lucky.

Speaking of Dogmeat, I finally found the lil guy (he was in the scrapyard -_-) I think he's pretty kickass - he can hold his own in a fight and isn't nearly as vulnerable as I had feared. We totally rocked that huge group of raiders at the Bethesda Offices. God I love this game so much ^__^

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. I've already posted a comment refuting someone else's almost identical claim, so go back a couple of pages and find what I said there. I'm not gonna repost the same thing, that's just daft.

[Edit - inflammatory remark about consoles removed]
