Never, as when I was eight, my friend showed me some porn, life changing for the worse, my mother may have, but since then, I've been glued to either the TV, computer... or TV but in this case, playing games.

"The Talk", ahh, your introduction into adulthood. So thats where kids come from! When you grow to a certain age and get your first boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever your parents think they should tell you what's what. I however havent gotten it ever..

I know nobody who actually got "The Talk" from their parents nor does anyone I know someone who does. Has the increased sexualisation of the youth rendered it useless?

In short, have you had the talk (or has anyone you know had it for that matter) and what do you think of its endangeredness (is that even a word?)

Ah, well, yeh see, the public school system certainly makes sure that negligence will allow you to find out that kind of "stuff" by yourself. It's sad really. You just gradually find out over the years.

I remember having sex-ed class in 4th grade, when I was no more than 8 or 9. Lots of giggles back then.

A couple years later my mom just asked me "You know about all that stuff, right?"

But I gotta wait until I'm married because I'm a Christian.

My mom woke me up a 2 in the morning to give it to me...which was pointless cause I had just gotten done with health class and I forgot everything she said anyways.

In primary school we had a weekly sex ed thing going on for a bit. Maybe for a term a year years 4,5,6.

My parents wouldn't give it to me anyway. The usual thing is ust "don't do anything stupid".

I fortunately never got the talk. An uncle tried when I was 10 but I shot him a nasty look and he shut up. I knew basically everything by the time I was 7. It sucked because I was ridiculed by the purposely kept ignorant children. I rubbed it in their faces when they found out I was right all along.

Two friends got the talk but they don't like talking about it.

I'm surprised at the number of people who learned it in sex-ed classes and the like. I've gone to Catholic elementary, and junior high so I never had sex-ed classes since everyone there was smart and knew about their bits, plus the school was, you know.. religious. The high school I'm going to know does not concern itself with stuff like this since everyone already knows and we're mature.(Yay for going to one of the best private school in NYC!)

My mom gave me bits and pieces of information on sex as I was growing up. The Discovery channel helped a lot too. There were some good examples of the basic mechanics right there. It wasn't until 6th or 7th grade that my school started giving us sex ed, but by then, I pretty much knew everything.

Never had it.

Figured it out from the media like games books movies and music.

Glad I didn't either. My Dad almost tried to but I stopped him.

Nope Ive never had the talk. I googled "sex" simply out of curiosity, and oddly enough the first site I came across was purely a text based informanional site with a few diagrams. That was it for googleing naughty things though.

I actually got the talk from my older brother. He and I shared a room, and he is seven years older than me. This man is my hero- he taught me everything I know. When the time came, it was him that sat me down and had the talk.

It made it a lot easier than had it been one of my parents.

I never had the talk, and I'm really glad I didn't. Besides, by the time my parents would have had the talk with me, I probably knew more obscure/disturbing/deviant sexual acts than they did.

Never had the talk either.
I've never heard of anyone actually getting the talk.
I think its a myth propogated by sitcoms.

I was in school long after sex ed turned from a mandatory video shown to high school freshmen once and then never mentioned again. I was also in school long before it turn to programs that teach abstinence only - these are the most useless piles of drivel I have ever seen.

Did that mean parents did not discus these things with there children? I bet you the same amount that do it with their kids now did it then. Sadly it is needed more now then when I was in school. My step father and Mother never talked with me about sex, well except to say that I should not be out screwing around all night, but I think they might just have been referring to other activities.

My father told me to use a condom once when I introduced him to a date of mine.

You know? I don't recall ever learning in school about sex. It's all been about diseases and condoms and stuff. Never "Penis goes into vagina, etc." just "See the horrible things that can happen to your junk?!!!!!"
I never fully understood sex until I started watching porn and all that. Some guy at a day camp I went to explained the basic idea, and then later my mom told me and it was extremely weird and awkward, especially since I felt I had to pretend that I had no idea.
