I fortunately never got the talk. An uncle tried when I was 10 but I shot him a nasty look and he shut up. I knew basically everything by the time I was 7. It sucked because I was ridiculed by the purposely kept ignorant children. I rubbed it in their faces when they found out I was right all along.

Two friends got the talk but they don't like talking about it.

I'm surprised at the number of people who learned it in sex-ed classes and the like. I've gone to Catholic elementary, and junior high so I never had sex-ed classes since everyone there was smart and knew about their bits, plus the school was, you know.. religious. The high school I'm going to know does not concern itself with stuff like this since everyone already knows and we're mature.(Yay for going to one of the best private school in NYC!)

My mom gave me bits and pieces of information on sex as I was growing up. The Discovery channel helped a lot too. There were some good examples of the basic mechanics right there. It wasn't until 6th or 7th grade that my school started giving us sex ed, but by then, I pretty much knew everything.

Never had it.

Figured it out from the media like games books movies and music.

Glad I didn't either. My Dad almost tried to but I stopped him.

Nope Ive never had the talk. I googled "sex" simply out of curiosity, and oddly enough the first site I came across was purely a text based informanional site with a few diagrams. That was it for googleing naughty things though.

I actually got the talk from my older brother. He and I shared a room, and he is seven years older than me. This man is my hero- he taught me everything I know. When the time came, it was him that sat me down and had the talk.

It made it a lot easier than had it been one of my parents.

I never had the talk, and I'm really glad I didn't. Besides, by the time my parents would have had the talk with me, I probably knew more obscure/disturbing/deviant sexual acts than they did.

Never had the talk either.
I've never heard of anyone actually getting the talk.
I think its a myth propogated by sitcoms.

I was in school long after sex ed turned from a mandatory video shown to high school freshmen once and then never mentioned again. I was also in school long before it turn to programs that teach abstinence only - these are the most useless piles of drivel I have ever seen.

Did that mean parents did not discus these things with there children? I bet you the same amount that do it with their kids now did it then. Sadly it is needed more now then when I was in school. My step father and Mother never talked with me about sex, well except to say that I should not be out screwing around all night, but I think they might just have been referring to other activities.

My father told me to use a condom once when I introduced him to a date of mine.

You know? I don't recall ever learning in school about sex. It's all been about diseases and condoms and stuff. Never "Penis goes into vagina, etc." just "See the horrible things that can happen to your junk?!!!!!"
I never fully understood sex until I started watching porn and all that. Some guy at a day camp I went to explained the basic idea, and then later my mom told me and it was extremely weird and awkward, especially since I felt I had to pretend that I had no idea.

My mom told me outright when I was like 6... I knew it had involved the penis and vagina, just not what was done with them, when told, I had the biggest "OHHH! Duh." moment of all time.

Oh you BET i got the talk. More than just a talk actually. My mom sat me and all my siblings down, and she showed us a book.

The book described what sex was with DETAILED cartoon pics of Cartoon characters having sex. She explained in full detail and then had us study the book for a week. Very traumatizing, as I was like 9 at the time.

I never really got the talk. I pretty much came across all the information on my own. My parents know very well I know and we speak relatively casually about it when it must be spoken of.

Even though I learned the basics of it on my own, I didn't learn the real scientific bits of conception until around 7th grade health class. It was in no way interesting.

There was talking of starting talking about sex to 4 year olds in primary school here in the UK.

I never had 'the talk' - Although we did have science lessons and they were very awkward.

My "talk" came in the form of a visual dictionary my friends and I were reading in grade 2. We didn't understand all of it... but we were fascinated nonetheless.

No-one in the family ever sat down and told me anything. Sex Education at school was just basically "don't do it" so that didn't help much either. At some point after that I saw some sort of hardcore porn magazine and then I understood everything a lot better.
