You think they're 15? I doubt it. In anime, 15-year-old girls are usually more... full-bodied. Look at Kagome from Inuyasha. They're probably 10.

The fire-pig is ridiculously cute, and that grass lizard thing looks kind of cool, but that water otter/beaver/bear looks pretty crappy.

Except for the snowman they look like they could evolve into awesome stuff.

Oh dear..... Starters have been getting worse since red and Blue. They got slightly better in the 4th gen but they were hardly Bulbasaur Charmander or Squirtle. This however looks to be the worse yet. The grass one looks ok (better than treeko at least) and i suppose the fire one is kind of cute, but wtf were they thinking with the water starter? It looks like someone tore the head of a Quagsire and replaced it with half a snowman, and what the hell is coming out of its stomach? Am i the only one who thinks it looks a bit like a cock?

DAMN YOU now I feel bad, I'll be getting the water otter in pokemon white and the fire pig in pokemon black.

I swear it's like they're trying to make these things look more retarded every generation...

Awesome! Did you draw that?
Nope. Found it on 4chan's /v/ board. People are there arguing over the new starter. Most of them hate the poor little water starter.

Now we know why Nintendo just keep remaking the same old games again and again.

because their creative department must have gone insane after the first Pokémon by the looks of it

I like the fire pig, but the grass one don't exactly look the best. I hate the water pokemon. Seriously, what is that?

And I thought Platinum had bad starter pokemon...

Shame on me for actually getting my hopes up about the Pokemon design.

Oh, and the guy is now androgynous. Yaaay... Bleh
What are you talking about? Chimchar was freakin' sweet!

OT: I am a bit disappointed by these new facts coming to light, but maybe it'll be like GenIV where we'll see something cool like Lucario or Drapion to balance out the lameness of these three guys.
I'm already excited because of the evolutions of Farfetch'd and Delibird... Farfetch'd evolution looks badass...
They have that out already? Can you get me a link so I may see as well?
Right here...

Link'd
Those look fake. The background is the one used in Gen. 4, not Gen. 5 [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:BW_Prerelease_Battle.png].

Love them all; fire pig bunny, otter beaver snowman, leaf lizard shrew. Can't wait to see the evolutions.

If Mr. Mime had been 4th Gen people would be saying wtf is that? The fact is the style is the same all the way through and the ideas are always quite good. Newer pokemon are only 'weird' because you are not used to them, it comes down to personal opinion if they are getting worse or not. In each generation there are some I think are cooler that others but I don't cry about it.

Later generations get a bad rap because of overly nostalgic fools who have lost all sense of adventure. Go back in time and show these crazy little fellas to them when they were playing Silver/Gold on their Gameboy and I guarantee you they would crap their pants.
I'm not going to argue, because you're right it's mostly nostalgia. Our generation was better then your generation deal. I try not to let that mentality skew my opinion, but I have to admit Pokemon have been geting more robotic in design. Pokemon to begin with were going to look like overly realistic monsters until they toned that down to make some of the more toyetic designs seen in Generation one. From that point on, every generation seems to be more and more designed in that way and only designed to serve that purpose. It's probably true that many more kids like the cartoon then the game, it's just more accessible, so we're seeing a lot more Pokemon designed with those kids in mind. It's a different generation of Pokemon designed for a different generation of kids so they do look vastly different from our generation.

Sorry, but the original 151 Pokemon weren't THAT creative.

Seel? Voltorb? A lizard with his tail on fire?

My mother? I'll tell you about my mother...

She's a great mother. Always baked me cookies as a child. I should probably write her a letter.

Those all look incredibly retarded by Pokemon standards...but then again, their evolutions will probably be cooler. At least, I hope so.

However, they do look less and less strange every time I look at them, so maybe I'll get used to them. Even that water bear thing.

If you don't like a giant spiked turtle with a land mass on its back, a huge steel penguin, or a kung-fu monkey, I question your judgment.
Huge steel penguin ftw.
But yeah, I recently posted in the 'supposed' new poke-starters thread

But yeah. Few past starters have sucked as bad as these look like they're gonna...(lookin' at YOU Chikorita) http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k308/ObsessiveSketch/chikoritaderp.jpg?t=1273536191
Sadly, it now looks like the fake designs were actually better. Idk about you all, but the fake grass type looks more original than this. Funk's right, it looks like a re-hashed Treecko.

The pig thingy...is kind of adorable. Charmander, Cyndaquil, and now this thing now comprise my list of 'fire pokemon that don't look frrrrreakay'.

The water....beaver...thing. To quote Moviebob:"http://www.mariowiki.com/images/thumb/b/bc/NTR_MarioLuigi3_07char_E3.jpg/120px-NTR_MarioLuigi3_07char_E3.jpg" The only way I can see redemption for this abomination if it has an impossibly badass evolution.

While I was initially apprehensive about the fire pig, the thought about what it might grow up into and the idea of having what amounts to self-cooking pork chops is really starting to turn me around. I'll wait to see what they all grow into before I pick my favorite, however.
