how can you aggressively not care about something? is that not caring about something to the point where all the "hype
over it makes you irritated?

I mean if you "aggressively" not care about something does that mean you take a negative stance towards it?...I wonder how many might say something like Gay Marriage
I think he's referring to stuff like the people who will see a thread discussing an upcoming game that they aren't interested in and will take the time to write a big post about how unexcited they are and how they cannot understand why people are excited about it.

Basically "I want you to know how little I care about that thing you like."

As for me, I don't have anything like that. Sometimes I catch myself getting close to it and I stop, because I realize how annoyed I get when someone does this for something I'm excited about.

Mostly TV shows that people tell me are awesome and I have to watch.

-The Walking Dead. Let me put it this way. I'm sick of Zombies. I really am. I played the first season of the Taletell version and I'll play the second season when it's close to finished but I really don't care about the show. I've heard a lot of people tell me it's just not that good. I have the first season on DVD and someday I'll try it but right now I don't really care.

-Breaking Bad. I watched the first episode. It didn't do anything for me. Enough said.

-Supernatural. Mostly my family telling me this. Most of the problem is that it's already something like eight seasons in and from what I'm hearing is that they're really grasping at straws for reasons to keep the plot going. Yeah, no thanks.

As far as video games.

-Mutiplayer anything. Really don't care. I've tried mutiplayer, with a very few exceptions I don't like it. I also have a massive steam/gog backlog to cut through and mutiplayer doesn't exactly have a "finish line".

-Dark Souls. I'm sure it's really awesome, really I do. I also don't have the time right now to play a game that's super hard and has save points few and far between. I'm already making slow progress in Valkriya Chronicles between every mission takes at least 90 minutes and you can't save in mission. Maybe if I'm ever unemployed......

- Gay marriage in the Japanese life-sim game thingy. I'm totally for gay marriage being legal, I just can't seem to care about a japense wii game in a genre I have no interest in playing having no gay marriage options, because I really don't care about the game at all.

ughhhh

even worse are people who will come in on a discussion on some tragedy and tell people how little they care

like no, you don't have to care about those girls that went missing, its normal not to but you're not impressing anyone with your edginess

Well, besides most "-ism/-ist"-like discussions, since the more I try to understand those situation, the more my brain hurts... I would have to go with stuff that's deemed "overrated" and/or "underrated"... Those two words have become part of my "top 5" words that, to me, have lost all of their objective meaning...

*sighs* There are other things I don't care for... But, I don't really care enough right now to start spewing more apathy...

Welp, Game of Thrones for one thing. I started watching it from the beginning during season 3, so I was spoiled on everything that happened during season 1 before I finished it, and lost interest shortly after. The only things that interest me in that show, and constantly tempt me to care about again it are the White Walkers, the plot with the dragon lady, and Tyrion Lannister; the only character in the show who interested me enough to remember his name.
I've heard the books are good, though!

Walking Dead, but only because zombies in popular media have gotten really old.

In video gaming, there's The Sims. Honestly, it baffles me that people can find that series entertaining. Seriously, how much fun can it be to relive life in a virtual medium?

Finally, and this is the big one for me...
This whole goofy debate about the PS4 outshining the Xbone in terms of graphical capability. I may be speaking out of my ass on this one, but I couldn't care less which system runs better. Sure, really nice looking games are a bonus, but the selling point for me is how fun or entertaining the game is.

This is just my opinion though, and if you like any of these things, don't let my whining spoil your enjoyment of them.

I know I will hate myself for asking but why? Speaking as someone who is none of those things, why would you not care? If only because it would make them more likely to support your own rights if they were ever threatened.

The whole evolution vs. creationism debate. I get why other people care about it, especially those involved in education/science/religion/whatever, but as for myself, I really don't care about how something that happened a fuckton of years ago took place. I'm just glad that it did.
Evolution didn't just happen "a fuckton of years ago" it's still happening. It doesn't end with us.
=sigh=

I know. I was referring to the whole origin of the species/world thing that people get so heated about. I wasn't there, me taking a side on that debate isn't going to impact my life or anyone else's in the slightest, ergo I don't care.
What you appear to be talking about isn't even evolution. That's abiogenesis. Not the same thing.

Also the theory of evolution dose impact your life and the lives of others. Immunologist's use it to predict how the flu virus will change. Even if we disregarded that just because we don't know of an application for a theory at the time doesn't mean it won't be useful later. The theory of relativity was considered largely useless at the time, but now satellites would fall out of the sky if we didn't compensate for relativity.

I'm not saying this to belittle you but appear to have little to no understanding of what the theory of evolution is. That's fine ignorance is your right. I'm not trying to take that away form you, but I don't want you misinforming other people. You don't care I get that, but I do. If you don't care about it so much don't talk about it.

Ok, I'll bite! I aggressively don't care about American sports. I get sick of hearing about on TV, and I'm sick to death of hearing people talk about it. All I do is groan and turn the tv as soon as anything sports related comes on.

If nobody cares about my running(sport) or table tennis(sport) then I don't give a fuck about your sports. Deal? Good!

Next on my list is popular music in all its forms. I've never cared for it as long as there has been a pulse in my veins. Next to no one cares for my taste in experimental electronic music or classical music so I equally don't care about music that everyone likes. It is simply beneath me. Have a nice day! :)

Atheist vs [insert whatever religion here] debates that never stop.

Both just stop. We get it, you are very very passionate about what you believe or don't believe but for crying out loud enough with the endless debates that actually goes NOWHERE. You won't change each others minds. Just agree to disagree and live your lives for f*** sakes.

"Religion is stupid"

"Atheist are evil"

We get it!!!
This is the story of my life. The evil Christians seem to find me wherever I go. They're determined to find whatever is wrong with me and cleanse it so that I'll go down the right path. They'll never stop till there is only one religion. Even though I'm not religious I do find the whole range of beliefs to be quite refreshing. Seeing how different people have a different take on the world.

Breaking Bad; Bryan Cranston is a talent, I will not deny that but the hype mongers behind his character 'Heisenberg' and the show itself are fucking insufferable and the show itself really just shits me - like really bugs the fuck out of me on a fundamental level.

I used to have a slight inkling for things like Homestuck last year. That stopped immediately when my tumblr dashboard was 80% Homestuck. Now that tends to happen with me with other fandoms as well. But once the hype dies down my interest peaks again. I can't say the same for Homestuck. Even though it makes up 1% of my dashboard now I still can't give two shits about it.

I'm very curious to hear about why somebody you don't know would share that info with you.

I mean it in a serious way. This sounds like a good story to share with everyone :p

Maybe because it doesn't affect me in any way? I simply can't be bothered to care.

The "lack of caring" by little boys pretending to be men on sexism/misogyny in video games.

Oooh. Meta.

No. I don't care if you're tired of it. I won't shut up about it because your apathy is precisely the reason it continues to be a problem. So carry on getting upset about my insistence on bringing it up, because like it or not, it's still a problem that needs to be addressed. Until my wife can open her mouth on a VOIP and not be insulted, sworn at or bear any other uninvited and unwarranted insults based on nothing but the fact she dared to play a video game, then I don't give a fuck if you hate it. I'm going to keep fighting it and until it changes, there is nothing you can do or say to stop me.

Also, most fandoms.

I'm going to interpret this question to mean "Things I avoid because I don't care about them/dislike them, but when pressed to give an opinion, respond negatively." In which case:

- Axis Hetalia/Hetalia/whatever that anime is about personifying countries
Everytime I think about this, I get the strong feeling that I'm the only sane person on Earth. I mean, turning the motherfucking Axis powers into cutesy anime characters with wacky adventures? What the hell is wrong with you!? I'm not one to harp on about historical hypersensitivity but I just cannot wrap my head around the concept of Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan and Fascist Italy being "kawaii" and while I'm sure plenty of people who enjoy it actually do know their history, the fanbase conjures up images of retarded teenage girls who couldn't place Germany on a map but excitedly squeal about their shipping stories.

- "THAT'S SEXIST/RACIST!!!!!" in gaming
Oy. I get it, I honestly do: there are significant issues with depictions of gender and race in gaming, and that you have to get people to listen to an justice to correct it. But sweet merciful God-Emperor, must we be so quick to shriek about the supposedly horrific treatment of "Persecuted minority of the day"? Or to be ever vigilant for the terrifying bogeyman of sexism, to the extent that we pick apart EVERYTHING for the slightest hint of ill-conduct? I read a post the other day discussing the outrageous sexism of a SEXIST VILLAIN MEANT TO BE SEXIST AND PUNISHED FOR THEIR SEXISM, for Pete's sake!

- "I didn't like Mass Effect 3's ending, so Bioware IS RUINED FOR ALL ETERNITY!"
This props up in any Bioware property related thread and while I certainly support the right of any gamer to healthy ***** about their hobby, it is very tiresome to dig through upwards of 3/4 pages of misery circle-jerking.
