And apparently Pharmercy too!
Given the white in this hair, it might be her father. We know absolutely nothing about Pharah's dad, just that her mom was presumed dead years ago (and is still alive)

I DID see an interesting theory though.

See the TV above them? It's playing hockey with a canadian flag in the corner.

Remember Pharah's Thunderbird [https://68.media.tumblr.com/7cfac34f47aaae836c54bf2c9b6abe10/tumblr_oii5x1LpMh1r0gurmo2_1280.jpg] skin? Guess what it looks like. [https://68.media.tumblr.com/fe5d4bfb6ee1108f2829bf47cfa4927e/tumblr_oii5x1LpMh1r0gurmo3_1280.png]

Pharah's dad is west coast aboriginal (forgive me for not knowing the specific tribe name) and she's spending Christmas with him since his wife/her mom is presumed dead.
Ah, fine, fine. You win this round, fan artists. All I can do is maintain my hope that Blizzard will viciously oblierate each and every baseless ship the fandom's dreamed up for no better reason than they look cute together.

Except Reaper 76. You can stay, Reaper 76.

Yeah but isn't this a lot of attention for a pretend character from a dying game in a pretend lesbian relationship with a background character? I mean is the redhead even an established character or was she made up for this comic alone?
Eh, I just posted it because it brings closure to the statement that Blizzard put out a while back about one of OW's characters being gay. A lot of people seemed to make a big deal about it back then, so I figured they'd care enough to want to know who it was.

Whether or not that's something worth caring about is something I'll reserve comment on because I don't like having my inbox flooded with quote-notifications from either side of that particular conversation. :p

Well, if people thought there was an oversaturation of Overwatch porn BEFORE, I can only guess at what deviantart has accomplished since.

I honestly do not know how to approach this. This could just be some well intentioned gesture to promote diversity. It could also be interpreted as fanservice of the highest (or lowest) degree. Finally, it might just be their way of poking the bear when it comes to people whose response to this kind of thing is always "Blarg SJWs" and generating media coverage and consumer awareness for their game.

Personally, I think Blizzard should be more worried that a character in the strip said "Happy Holidays".

Reaper 76 is life.

THOUGH, Genji was writing a letter, and Mercy was reading a letter that looked the same (or at least was on the same paper), and given their...familiarity in their in-game voice emotes for eachother it's likely Blizzard might be pushing towards Genji/Mercy. Genrcy? Merji? fuck if i know. which might be cute, given their history. Or sad. Probably sad. Sad Cute.
Hissssssss.

Wouldn't care much normally, but the fact that Widow isn't her gf should generate that extra amount of salt. IDK, maybe it's a weird kind of schadenfreude, but i like when shippers get butthurt about these things.

But I wonder what this will do to all the porn of her.
Pal, i can assure you, characters' established sexuality means nothing to porn artists.

What I find utterly hilarious is that people are assuming Tracer is a lesbian. She's never expressed disinterest in relationships with men, and she could still be bisexual (a bit grasping at straws, I admit, but since many shippers grasp at straws themselves to claim that their favorite character must be LGBT in the face of canon, turnabout is fair play).

I would have expected more people to see this coming. It's not really a surprise.
To be fair, at least for me, I'm less surprised as bewildered. Like...why does it matter, in any way? Were there really lesbians on the fence saying "Well, the gameplay and story are crap and its very repetitive, but if only there was a fellow lesbian character for me to identify with, it'd make the game tolerable."
And I didn't even know one of the characters was said to be LGBTQRS+, so its doubly bewildering anyone who bought the game on that selling point. What if it wasn't the correct character for them? Are they gonna stop playing because the monkey dude doesn't like balls?

It reminds me of that 'Dumbledore is gay' saga. It never came up in story and was completely irrelevant to everything, especially anyone who didn't like the series because of the lack of secretly gay old men with beards who die without ever revealing their sexuality to a teenager.

This I guess means Japanese fans freaking out over fictional chars dating I guess rubbed off on the west too, and in more than one ways lol.

What I don't get is unless you plan on doing a visual novel or rpg spinoff where dating is a thing, why even specify this sorta thing. I don't know what one is expected to do with this information, it isn't a game where dating is relevant. It seems as a thing done purely to tease fans.

My reaction: Whooooooo gives a shit? They're literally Team Fortess 2.5 level characters. She could be literal asexual(not the way it's misused today, but as in can make another Tracer all by herself) and it makes no damn difference. The only people who care about this are Waifu Warriors and Rule 34 artists. Keep trying Blizzard. I'm not coming back to your game

You can find around a dozen people in this thread. Is that a serious question, or are you trying to pretend that your opinion is the majority?

I quit worrying about the justification for queer awhile ago. I never worried about why the straight people were straight, so it really wasn't fair.

Well put indeed.
I hate to use the term 'normal' because it galvanizes anyone not under that umbrella, but same with me with heterosexual sexuality. I just assume heterosexual, because its the statistically more likely sexuality, but in the event of a homosexual relationship(regardless of gender), I just shrug as well. Neat. How does it add to the gameplay, etc...

But I guess that's prejudice? Technically? Pre-judging? Anyway, I'll stop worrying about the implied sexuality of a fictional character of a game I don't play.

Not meant to be classy, just as a flip remark, but tell me. Other than those two groups, who would really care?

I believe this is somewhat appropriate:

OT: Aaaaand this changes things... how exactly? I mean, the R34 train has basically been speeding at Mach 2 since the game's release, and from empirical rese... I mean from rumors I've heard, most of it is already her getting funky with the other female characters. I can't even see this adding more fuel to the fire, since the porn scene around Overwatch is already like Dresden in 1945 [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of_Dresden_in_World_War_II]. I'm not against it, Blizzard can do whatever they want with their properties (but after this they certainly don't have the right to complain about the R34 anymore), but acting like this is some world changing shock is a teensy weensy bit blown out of proportion.

These bizarre little groups called "people who just really like the idea." I like it and I care. So am I a rule 34 artist or a waifu warrior?

Waifu nowadays just means "favorite female character" so I see nothing wrong with the term. Having favorite chars is great.

I wouldn't bother being self conscious by all snide implied remarks that some choose to read into the term such as people forgoing relationships or masturbating to the characters and what have you. Whoever takes that out of it was someone who you likely could never get along all that well with anyways.
