A ton of new shirts, shorts, pants/jeans, and some new shoes. Almost enough for a full wardrobe restart, which was the intended purpose. Finally got some COLOUR happening too!

The boring one
Okay. Rampage day (monthly flea market in France). What have we got ?
  • The dvd box of The Good Place.
  • The old classic Van Gennep book on rites of passage.
  • A book about the history of the Church and Pie XII during ww2.
  • An Italo Calvino novel.
  • A book about the El Dorado and similar myths of golden cities driving the colonisation of America.
  • A book about revolts and policing in the French colonies of the 17th and 18th centuries.
  • Andre Breton's texts on surrealism (his manifests and other stuff).
  • Two classic collections of poems, one of Paul Eluard and the other of Louis Aragon.
  • A 450 pages collection of national-socialist texts from the 30s and 40s.
What we don't have is the required physical space.

So the Playstation 5.

first off the thing is massive, I basically had to re-arrange multiple things around it. Also in a first for consoles, the base actually mounts with a screw (probably a good thihng as it elevates it for vents, in both orienations)

Transfer was a little weird cause you couldn't select some games, despite them having a PS5 version they had to go and be downloaded again.

Most of the rest is improvements. One odd thing is what used to be the basic control menu that popped up when you held the PS button now has extra layers and just quitting an app/game takes like 4 extra presses. It was also kind of hard to get up initially because there's a second button just below it that idk what it even does.

Other quibbles, my headphone mic doesn't register plugged into the controller. Also the vaunted discord integration requires you have Discord open on something else and choose "use voice on PS5" from a voicechat. It doesn't have its own Discord app or any direct controls there of (so you also can't mute people or adjust individual volumes and various other features, or share your screen to discord (although in my case I can remote play to an iPAd then share the screen of that if I really need to)

Those were awesome, but there is so much Spyro there, you will burn yourself out if you go for 100% on each one, one after another.
I think I'm just gonna go for Ripto's Rage for now since it's the one I have the most nostalgia for (I only played the first one a little bit, and never played the third one) and then go back to the others later on.

For my money the first one is the best, but there is more then a bit of nostalgia telling me to say that. And I wasn't huge on the expanded cast and their minigame sections.

I decided yesterday to buy myself some clothes like a real sophisticated adult for once.

And now i will have an anti-greed-capitalist rant for it.

So i needed to have some nice clothes for a weddings (no suit). Bought myself some sporty leather shoes, a high-quality jeans, a white shirt and a nice blazer. And fucking payed over 600€ for that. Needed to really choke down and combat my impulses for that. I wouldn't be so bad, but i freaking KNOW the poor bangladesh woman sowing that crap got like 50 cents of that or so. And the Egyptian cotton-farmer got payed nothing as well. And some greedy dealers and go-betweens and managers and some investors and shit living the high-life just "earned" 450 or so.

That is the price i, a few years ago, payed to build myself a gaming PC. It's the money i can save after about three-four weeks of my normal frugal living. That's more than i payed the last 3-4 years for clothing combined...

Also: Looks nice. (Even though it would look better if i didn't need the FAT-Version of it. My goddamn belly is fucking out of control.)

So yeah. i am totally in the mood for a party.

A new motherboard and ram. The other one is an asus and apparently asus motherboards and the 7800x3d chips tend to... catch fire and asplode and it sounds like asus is responsible for most of it so, swapping it out for an msi board.
