My name is Jonathan. It didn't come from anywhere and there was no real reason for it... apparently it just sounded nice. I like it anyway.

I was going to be called Matthew, but I was told that this song was in the charts at the time and it drove mum mad, so that idea went out the window. But looking at the date, this song was 1966, more or less 20 years before I was born, so I don't really understand how that was possible.

By look you would probably think my full name is Daniel, its actually Danforth the medieval pronunciation of Daniel. Its because my parents wanted me to be unique, a title I try my best to uphold to this day.

Last I checked, Andrew means strength. I usually find that names are something good or noble. Who would name their kid something like "little weak one"???

Bailey, on the other hand, is the inner courtyard of a castle. I can't help but imagine that my ancestors were the drunks always hanging around some castle in Ireland or Scotland a thousand years ago.

My brother is Shadrach, as in Shadrach, Meshack, and Abendigo from the Bible (book of Daniel). Which is interesting, because those were not their Hebrew names, those are Babylonian (Chaldean) names, meaning servant of some moon god or other.

My name is the spanish version of Joshua, which means "God is my salvation". My middle name is David, which means "Beloved", I think. And my last name is the Spanish word for "badly received" (a gift is implied, so it's a word you'd use to describe someone giving you a present by throwing it through your window and spitting on your doorstep.

Although I know my middle name was given to me since it just runs in the family, I'm not totally sure why my parents gave me my first name, nor do I know why they gave me a more unique spelling as opposed to the normal spelling. Don't have a problem with it though, and I kinda like the uniqueness of how it's spelled to be honest. ^-^

Malcom is my clan's name( I'm part Scottish). Malcom was a spelling mistake in the 15th century and it sort of stuck.

Porter comes from the word for Gatekeeper. It was first found in Kyle (my dad's mother's name) and I'm a direct descendant of the original Scottish Porters and remain a pure example of the Porte line (which includes such names as Robert the Bruce and Baron George Porter of Luddenham, nobel prize winner).

My birth name has a funny story behind it. My mother wanted to name me with a name beginning with J. She did not like Jason because of Friday the 13th. She wanted to name me Justin and my dad immediately went "Great. His middle name will be Time or Case." So after trial and error of my dad making jokes about my possible names, my mother gets to Joshua. Since my dad couldn't make a joke with Joshua, that was what my mom decided to name me.

As for my middle name, my mom just thought it sounded cool. We found it when I was roughly 11 that Rand is actually the currency of South Africa.
