The Tau Empire. Just gotta love the juxtaposition of the super-advanced battlesuits contrasted to the barbaric mannerisms of the Kroot. Also, I love the long range Tau offers.

FOR THE GREATER GOOD!

Tau ftw. Ironically the most humane of all species, anyone can join them in serving the Greater Good, but they'll mess you up if you stand in their way.

Also, no connection to the Warp, so no Tau dudes ripping apart into Chaos portals.

Battlesuits are pure win. Giant armored suits with the most advanced weaponry in the universe. Hell yeah.

I enjoy Eldar and Tyranids. Though I haven't been anywhere near the stuff since I was a wee sprat. I took an interest in the Dawn of War series, but I found it too fast to enjoy. I like my strategies to be slow paced and leisurely. How is Dawn of War II?

Back when I started the tabletop game it was space wolves all the way, loved thier look and the fact that they opperated almost indipendantly from the rest of the imperium, functioning as packs in a very tribal way, just loved thier backstory.

Ever since DoW2 tho I've been drawn to the tyranids mainly because the idea of them fascinates me, consuming worlds for some unknown purpose, adding the dna and resources to thier own constantly evolving, they might not be as in depth history or personality wise as the rest of the 40k universe but like I said, just fascinating to me. not to mention 40 foot aliens with blade sharp claws kick ass :p
And then of course there are the two theories, each worse than the last:

Theory 1- The three Hive Fleets that wrecked everyone's shit so far and have only been beaten back at great cost are just little tiny tendrils of a much-greater force to follow and nomnom everyone, or;

Theory 2- The sudden emergence of the Tyranids en masse means that, like wild animals in a forest fire, they are actually running away from something...

Take your pick. We're all fucked either way.
That's obvious there running away from the grots :p
but seriously the race you need to be concerned about is the necrons they are next to impossible to destroy they have there gods walking among them not to mention there real army and most powerful gods are still in hibernation.Tyranids should fear them most of all especially after what happened over that tau world a hive fleet was about to consume.

Space Marines ftw, preferably Iron Snakes, Ultramarines or Grey Knights. I have never tabletopped before, 40k or otherwise, but the books are just so damned good. I can't wait for the movie and the third-person game!

Tau. I love their ideology and the sheer hypocrisy of it.
For the Greater Good...
But no, I agree; Tau ftw. Especially the Kroot, what with their close quarters bonus and all that.

Well, in my case, I was 12 years old when I started playing, and I still have my Blood Angels. Most of my army belongs in a museum nowadays, and it's pretty cool to see my old minis on the table.

That said:

Sanguinius. It should have been him. He has the vision and strength to carry us to victory, and the wisdom to rule once victory is won. For all his aloof coolness, he alone has the Emperor's soul in his blood. Each of us carries part of our father within us, whether it is his hunger for battle, his psychic talent or his determination to succeed. Sanguinius holds it all. It should have been his...? -- The Warmaster Horus

You realize that being the best close-combat troops in a Tau army doesn't mean much, right? The Kroot are super-human in close-combat... by Tau standards. By everyone else's, they're still pretty sucky.

Daemon Hunters, I play them in table-top and just love them :D

If one of those bad boys got the Obliterator Virus.

Holy shit.
Yes yes yes I know that they'd be terminated and whatnot, but imagine if they weren't...

Besides, the obliterator virus makes them go batshit insane, so whether they'd just jettison themselves out or not. I suppose the others would sense the corruption though... Hmm...

Chaos, its not that i like them its just that you get captured by them or even fight it is genrally Hell, sure they may be human but they are Demonic and they actully laugh when they die so yeah i side with the race that can mutate, die laughing, have Gods that send your soul thorugh darkness forever and get turned into Demons if they are lucky.
