Wow. The limits of human stupidity are once again tested. Arranging a hit on facebook? Might as well discuss it loudly in a packed cinema, less chance of your ingenious scheme being discovered.

Not quite my favourite story of the week, mind you, that had to go to the crazy Egyptian who wants to fight a lion to rescue Egypt's tourist trade.

http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/06/11/catfight-man-plans-to-battle-lion-in-an-effort-to-boost-egypts-tourist-industry/#ixzz1PYQWZbKG

"The world will flock to see the Egyptian man who defeated a lion with his bare hands." Can't argue with that logic!

The reason I'm not surprised or shocked is because I swear to god this has already happened before, on facebook too.
<link=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/107811-Criminal-Genius-Seeks-Hitman-on-Facebook>Looking for this? (Moral: Stop naming your children "Corey". Just stop.)

And if we take out "Facebook", we've got <link=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/108749-Woman-Hires-Hitman-Online-Gets-Busted>this.

According to Lieutenant John Walker, "It's shocking that people are just so stupid."
No it isn't. After you've worked in any sort of tech support for any length of time no amount of stupidity surprises you anymore. That doesn't mean it's not funny though.

it's nice that it's become so easy to weed the stupid people out of society. This was a good day

And I thought one could unquestioningly trust all their friends on Facebook...

I see that Ms VonKarma visits the site, one question though, did you get tired of the word fool?

(I don't know how to put the captcha here so you must take my word for it. It said WATCH OUT.)

How appropiate (for the whip I mean).

You just have to attempt to hire a hitman via FaceBook, and you're good to go.

But I'd make a much better hitman than one I'd find on facebook... I own enough guns to take care of any problem I may have. Oh well guess I'll have to accept the offer instead so it's still technically stupid enough to quailify.

If these people get the chair, does this count them in for a Darwin award?
Yes. Yes it does. It's one of those Darwin Awards that gets them sent down in history.

If nothing else, it'll get them on the next "## Criminals Who Failed Very Badly" list on Cracked.

Psh stupid kid expected it, cash up front. No professional ever asks for all up front, because it doesn't work that way.

Half up front, half after job completed, that's how it works for both people.

Oh, and it is amazing how dumb people can be.
You assume he is a professional when he takes a hit on some random person, on FACEBOOK, for a mere grand?
Psh, would have told the lady to add at least a zero and would have not used facebook to make the details clear.
Also, I would have probably taken it upfront too, that´s pocket change, you need at least half of that to even GET to your target...

This reminds me of a post I made on facebook a while ago. A friend of mine posted "Whats ur favorite mexican food?" on his wall. Another friend of mine jokingly replied "My favorite mexican food is sushi." Here's where it gets stupid. Another friend of mine (actually, she's not my friend in real life, and I've always been thankful for that ever since I met her), a girl named Kellie, said "Sushi is mexican? Pretty sure it's the japs."
At this point, the guy who said that Sushi was his favorite simple posted "-_-", upon which I replied this beautiful comment:
"Thank you so much Kellie! Your post has inspired a new idea within the vortex of my brain! Facebook should have three like buttons: Likes, Dislikes, and Disgraces to Human Intelligence."
I post this here because this proves that facebook needs a "Disgrace to Human Intelligence" button.
