Apparently the chainsaw has become a lot stronger since GoW1, and according to all the pros it's the weapon of choice for all the n00bs..
...How can it be stronger, ITS A ONE HIT KILL! XD
It now sucks people in, and it's hard to stop someone coming at you with a chainsaw. I dunno, it's just what all the GoW1 people are saying...

The only game that comes to mind is Street Fighter. Vega. I used to be constantly sent up in the air with his sliding kick, landing, and being hit from the other side with the same move until i'm dead. One MOVE done over and over again. That was fairly frustrating.

Camping. Worst n00b tactic ever.
Now, I can understand camping if you're using a sniper rifle or protecting an objective. I actually expect you to do that. It's the guys who sit in shadowy corners with heavy weapons, racking up a few kills before moving onto their next shadowy hard to see hiding spot. It's just a cowardly and extremely boring way of playing a game. Take COD4 for example, people will sit in corners of rooms where even pros rarely look with the M60, Desert Eagle, Juggernaut and Last stand. So cheap.

I hate Last Stand on the Hardcore modes because for the half second that the go from standing to last stand stances, they're temporarily invulnerable. So you can be shooting them in this state and doing nothing, but for that half second, they can kill you. The only real way to counter it is a headshot from long range. Martyrdom is a ***** too, but it doesn't get me as angry as any other n00b tactic, because it can be avoided pretty easily.

Another thing that's extremely n00bish and only serves to piss me off is people who constantly use the tanks on COD:WAW... Not only because of their firepower, but also because they're so fucking hard to destroy. The quickest way, I found was 2 bazooka blasts followed by an anti-tank grenade. But this combo leaves you empty in terms of explosives for clearing rooms that harbor campers. I find that there are far more campers on COD:WAW than on COD4, but that could just be me.

Everything else is pretty much fair game. And even these tactics can be alright in moderation. As I said, I expect people to camp if defending an objective, so that's alright. I don't expect people to camp in a team deathmatch game unless they're sniping. If I'm not mistaken, the purpose of the game is to have some fun, not sit in a corner boring yourself to death. Maybe this makes me foolish, but the whole reason I bought COD4 and COD:WAW was to find a fun thing to do online.

How has no one mentioned the Blue Shell of Death? It only ever gets found by the guys in the last couple of places, for whom it is the least useful, and it is (as far as I know) unavoidable. I've heard that you can maybe avoid it but I've got no evidence for it.

Though I have noticed that its appearance was cut back a little in the Wii Mario Kart. I'm still not going to buy it though.
How on Earth did I forget about the BlueShell!!

Wavedashing.

And it's not really a cheap technique, since all it does is add extra mobility. In levels outside of Final Destination attempts to wavedash can actually prove suicidal at times.

I have to say roll cancelling [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VORPm8B8BXY] (rolling and then doing a special move right after the roll starts to make the move invincible, basically making projectiles completely useless) in Capcom vs SNK 2 and variable cancelling [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd8rWl9fQWY] (cancelling a throw so that your opponent basically freezes) in Soul Calibur 3 are pretty cheap. Also the reason why I don't play them.

But usually if I lose to someone, I blame myself instead of the opponent. Or the game, if it really is that silly as in the above cases.

Halo 3- Grav Hammer and a rocket launcher on Infection....

Yah people who will get the plasma sword and stay next to a corner and just attack and kill over and over. It just says you are to afraid to come out and really fight. But it is really funny when they get a killing spree of 15 and you run in and throw a plasma gernade, they kill you then explode... ALWAYS worth it!

The sniper rifle in any game. Pinpoint accurate, pretty much infinite range, and 1-2 shot kills.

And if you let an enemy get close enough to you to kill you with martyrdom, you need to work on a few things.

And in Company of Heroes anything with a flamethrower. The sniper rule applies there too.

I know it sounds stupid but I really hate people using the assault rifle in halo 3. You always start with it, but its so balanced that every one-handed weapon or close combat weapon nearly become obsolete and unnecessary to pick up. I just get so annoyed when I shoot someone with a shotgun or smgs, and they kill me by bursting a few shots and beating me down.

Also
SSBB: Picachus tordenbolt thing down from the sky, pits spinning attack and, and just snake. I hate people using snake in super smash brow brawl.

The donkey statue from worms.

In L4D, people who stand in corners and spam the beat attack to repel the hunters.

Last but not least: the noob combo in halo 2.

with the grenade launcher on cod4. you can use that with skill at certain points, in crossfire i can put a launched grenade into the sniper window from across the map.
If i had actually got a kill from that, it would be extremely useful

The noob tactic I hate most is:
Use tactic, lose in game, complain about other players tactics b/c they did not use the same one as you!

Seriously, ENOUGH of this nonsense about whats acceptable and whats "noob". Not using a weapon that can give you an advantage out of some misguided sense of pride doesn't make you better than the player using it so stop pretending it does. Every tactic has a weak point and if your not good enough to figure out what it is then MAYBE your not good enough to win.

If there is a serious balance issue that keeps you from enjoying the game, PLAY SOMETHING ELSE!

Here's a question, if done too much, could sniping be considered noobish? I realize it takes skill, but there are some people who only snipe and are crap with everything else. Could one make the case that by specializing in only one aspect, a gamer might achieve noobism, even if that aspect, when done in moderation, is perfectly respectable?

its like the y button thing with raph in soul calibur, using that move as part of a larger combo is fine, and possibly even something to be proud of. its when its used in excess that it becomes an issue. Could sniping be the same?
No I only use the Chaos Sniper rifle in UT2K4 Chaos mod, but it's because I'm so good at it, saying someones a noob because they're good at getting the headshots is wrong. And for my noob combo I'm gonna say in the onimusha dawn of dreams bonus arena, using the ***** with the spear, or roberto (the punching guy) and going oni mode and supersonic punching, thus ending the batlle in 3 seconds.

Whats wrong with snake? Any good player can beat him, I play as him and one of my friends plays as the uber pro character meta knight and i'm dead in three seconds.

I don't know, I used to use martyrdom but found that once I got good at it, Last Stand was better. Also there's no better feeling to me than getting killed and watching five guys zip past and then taking them all out with my pistol because they didn't reckon with Last Stand.

Wow.. I guess I've just been blown up by nades too often to have EVER been knifed or shotgunned!
Lay in the grass with a P90 on a 4 player game in Shipment is my way of griefing because I like being a pain in the ass. It's more satisfying to fray everyone's nerves than to win. Left 4 Dead proved that.
