I'd send every topic of the month thread to R&P to decay after the first 48 hours.

I'd ban two topics from The Escapist's forums entirely.

Politics and Religion.

In my experience, making these subjects taboo in a public circle makes for much more civil discussions. No "EFF YOU, YOU PERSON OF A RELIGIOUS OUTLOOK WHICH IS CONTRARY TO MY OWN AND WHO DOES NOT ADHERE TO NEOLIBERALISM OR THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE OR WHATEVER ELSE!"

Apart from that, your standard funsies would be had.

What will you do?
Oh man oh man, so many options!

I think going through this thread and doing what each post says would be fun for such a person! :D

I think they should work in numerical order from the first response until they reach the end of the thread. Considering Response #2 is "lock this thread", that means it wouldn't keep bumping while they're working. :D

Systematically ban all of the staff members. Then ban myself. Maybe have a sandwich at some point while doing that.

If I've somehow become a moderator then you'd best be more worried about all the pigs that have started flying, and less about what I'd do as a moderator.
You'd have to make a pretty big turnaround to go from being banned three times to moderator.
At least you could say that you've experienced the wrath of your power.
I've seen people on several forums go from being perma-banned to being moderators or admins. Many times it even worked out, because they tend to be people who were really invested in the community. Though I can think of at least two times where a mod snapped and went scorched earth on the forums.

It's really difficult to find a good mod. :(

A mod that's less of a mediator at heart and more of a generally enthusiastic/helpful user will get quickly burnt out on the community they enjoy when the responsibility starts to feel like work. And the larger a community becomes, the tricksier the trolls get - they start setting subtler traps for the mods, which can be a bit stressful. :)

Probably tighten down the rules/enforcement for R&P. When it comes to religion and politics, people can get very inventive in how they insult people without breaking the rules. Not saying I'm innocent of this.

I would ban everyone and everything because why not. Not like there are any great users left.
You got that right, remember me? I used to be on here a lot back in the day, until I started getting into trouble for every little stupid thing. Then the site became a dull land of generic pleasant opinions full of lollipops and rainbows.

Having been a super mod elsewhere for 6 years, it'd be a huge pain in the ass. Mods are essentially the adults in a kindergarten, and the ones that has to clean up all the shit the kids keep smearing on the wall.

You do not want to be a mod. Trust me on this.
Pretty much my experience as well. I've also found it interesting from my time on another forum (one that I was not a mod of) to guess which moderators had been asked to moderate and which moderators had volunteered to do so. I think I was ~90% accurate in guessing which was which because the latter group where douche bags and pretty crap at the task. In general no matter how trivial an amount it may be it's generally not a good idea to give authority to those who actively seek such authority over others out.

I would do absolutely nothing. I would just keep posting my not notable posts around this site.

Quit. Too busy with other things right now.

But if I did stay, I would probably be a generally lenient person. Basically enforcing the rules, but not going ban/suspension happy.

I would exact petty revenge on Vault101 and Daystar for being better known than me.
I've been on here almost as long as them why can't I be famous... well at least well known by the forum community.

EDIT:
After that, maybe make a sticky thread title "That's just you're opinion". Inside would be directions on playing live-and-let-live with everyone else.

Cut out the middle man (give warnings) regarding behaviour that's against the rules.

Review the list of flagged posts.
