Trying to perform some precision platforming in Croc 2 at the wee age of 8 were not pleasant memories.

OOOOOOOHHHHH

This one shows how patient I am,

Playing Kingdom Hearts back in my single digits, The fight vs Riku.
It might have been the wearing away of cutscenes, or his 'the floor is made of lava' attack, but I gave up on it after dying many times (I even asked my parents if they could try it-it didn't help)

And then, 7 years Later, I pick up the box on a bored day, decide to give it a go.
Killed him in 1.
Wut.

...Looking back on it now, I think it might have been me not knowing how to dodge/defend....

EDIT: damn, ninjad

Oh, and *FUCK THAT*

Jet Force Gemini.

Here I was, having just defeated the Big Bad Bug, Mizar, having gained these awesome looking armor upgrades for everyone, having fun discovering new planets and new paths for the characters to take, when it dawns on me that I had to finish at least one of the robot mission mini-games on an advanced level in order to beat the game completely.

I don't know how much time I wasted on the single mission I was so very insistent on beating, but one day I just finally said 'No.' and didn't look back.

I still loved that game though.

As far back as I can remember. Games aren't exactly built on positive reinforcement. I like that Dara O'Brien sketch where he talks about how games are the only kind of media that wont allow you access to its content unless you have proven yourself worthy.

Pretty much my biggest gaming regret; Okami

Before the Ninetails bossfight there is a Rock Guardian you have to hit at 5 points, in a incredible short timespan, with ridiculous ninja accuracy.

I tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, but never got passed that bastard.......such a waste.

When I was a wee child... Skull Man, Mega Man 4. First and only time I ever asked my parents to take a game BACK to the rental store.

Usually, it happens when I can't figure out where to go next (that's right, no walkthroughs!).

For example, in Tarzan's level in Kingdom Hearts, when I was left to run in circles with literally no hints whatsoever. I left the game for a full year because of it. I would later re-abandon it because of its stereotypical four hour, five stage final boss.

That's another thing that bothers me. I hate sections of games where you have to dedicate two hours straight to accomplish something, like a boss . I do NOT have that kind of time, game!

Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

I just downloaded it, and I owned it for Gamecube, but never beat it. Again, I get a bit in and keep getting mauled by everything and there's very limited health/ammo.

Fuck. This.

A long time a go? Thief 3/Prince of Persia original (put me off forever).

Recently? Modern Warfare 2, WaW, Black Ops, Modern Warfare 3

- Of which I personally owned MW2 & BO; BO was better, it was more balanced, but was more boring online as well and still not completely fixed. Although BO's story is the best in the series just for that -making you think and not seeing the ending twist- factor.
Reach online has it's way with me but I keep going back to it for some reason.

The first that comes to mind is for Grand Theft Auto 4. The game glitched and stop giving me missions. So I start a new game, do a couple of missions and decide to fuck it and trade the game in.

The Buu fights in the DBZ: Buddakai or whatever the fuck it is games. Super hard.

Also, trying to beat Raam in Gears of War. Years later for a gun camo do I actually come back, spend a few awful attempts trying to beat the bastard, before finally succeeding.

I was playing 'Wall E', for the xbox360. I was originally playing it just to get the 1000 gamerscore, then got into it a bit and enjoyed it. When I got to 935 points, my save corrupted and said I'd have to start again. Nope. F*ck that. Traded it in straight away to get resident evil 5. Which I later traded in to buy black ops. (I now regret it though)

My first Minecraft world was deleted one day.
It contained:
-My Skyscraper
-My Miles long Train Track that provided quick fun transport to all of my Creations
-My Underground hideout
-My Winter Cottage
And countless others were deleted.
Since then my relationship with Minecraft has been strained.
I've given up on Minecraft entirely because the damn thing crashes every 30 or 40 minutes, and screws up my inventory every other time it crashes. Every few months I go back and try it again, only to find that it now crashes more often than before. Both my current computer and old clunky desktop have this problem, despite having totally different hardware, OS's, etc. Sigh...

I dunno what my first one was...that stupid snake boss in Link's Awakening came close, though. Fight, get inevitably knocked into a pit, boss heals himself completely, repeat until the buttons on your Gameboy are frictioned away into nothingness.

Two thirds through the first Suikoden game my memory card data somehow got corrupted and I just couldn't load any of my saves. Just threw it away...tho I did enjoy the second installment not long afterwards.

It has to be Chrono Trigger, the giant robot thing where you have to destroy all it's parts or something like that. I kept dying, so what was I supposed to do?

I don't remember the first time but playing Metal Gear Solid twin snakes on the cube I got to the part where they're electracuting you and you have to break free and I finaly said fuck this, not because I couldn't figure it out but because I realized that you were really just walking to the next cut scene all the time and then that would take a half hour and then maybe you'd get to shoot somebody, and even after you did shoot someone like that chick with the sniper rifle it doesn't matter cause even after you kill her in the game they just go to a cut scene and say nope shes still alive, but thats japanese story telling for you it just doesn't make any sense, so fuck that

Playing GTA San Andreases mission whee you had to follow a train and kill the ballas on the top of it. I keep failing at it and got pissed off each time Big SMoke told me 'All we had to do was follow the dam train, CJ'

My first was the scorpion robot thing from FF7. Looking back, it doesn't seem too hard, but I was new to rpgs at the time.
Though not my first, Seth from Street Fighter 4 was a major one. Managed to break a controller out of frustration.

The Power Rangers fighting game on Megadrive?/SNES?

The final boss's second stage. You don't heal after the first stage, he gets ridiculously long arm blades, twice the health and speed.

I wasn't even 10 years old at this point, I didn't want a crazy challenge, I wanted a fun game. Eventually I just got annoyed and had my big brother beat him.

When I was of age to really expect something from games, my first would have to be FFX-2. Two hours after buying it I took it back. F*** that game.
