Yes! Baccano! It is my fave (I have not heard of your #1), and the only anime I have ever bought the DVD for. (the commentary is awesome)

My second is Cowboy Bebop, and then after that I can't sort out where I place them. I just put then in the "anime I like" category of my head.

Deathnote would be #4 if I counted it as the manga. I found the anime to be seriously lacking to the original manga though, so it's not my top 5 anime.

Not sure if it really counts in this thread but my #1 Animated series is easily Avatar: The Last Airbender. Very rarely is there a show that strikes a balance of stunning action, lovable characters, great humor, along with intense drama and story. And to compound all of that it got made on Nickelodeon...I don't know how or where they pulled that bunny from but gosh darn is he cute. Seriously, how do you get Political Assassination past Nickelodeon Censors? That's really impressive. Haven't seen the movie but I'm assuming it was butchered horribly. Rather difficult to squeeze a 21 episode season into 1.5 hours.

After that, it's probably something like Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Hellsing, Black Lagoon, Death Note, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Personally, the one that is no longer on the air.

Dont get me wrong I give any sort of fiction credit where credit is due. I enjoyed Outlaw star, Big O, and Death note when I watched them, because I found them to be well written, and somewhat defied the sea of mediocrity that is 95% of anime.

My number one is... apparently somewhat popular (but I will admit in no way for everyone, it's something you either love or hate), or so I've gathered from other sources on this world wide web of ours. But yes, "Baccano! fuck yeah!" is an adequate expression for how I feel about that anime.

That's my 2nd favorite. I know what you mean. But my list is now permanent. Just like yours, it doesn't include Cowboy Bebop. That anime moved from 3rd...to 5th..to no longer a favorite.

I also absolutely LOVED this show, my friends and I would watch it every week religiously, which if hilarious if you think about it, 3 grown men gathering to watch a children's show.
