Literally anything that has to do with Pokemon or survival horror. I can't resist a new Pokemon game no matter how hard I try. Ever since they had the trailer for Silent Hill 8, I have been keeping up with it. Pretty easy to tell what my favorite genre was back in the day. Almost every system I have owned has had one shelf with nothing but survival horror in it. Really kind of funny that I have every single main Pokemon game. Do have a Pikachu doll next to my Resident Evil collection.
I love the drastic contrast in your interests. If ever there is a survival horror game starring Pokemon we will all know exactly who the target audience is.

A ton of different ways to get to the same objective. I like the structure of the single objective/single ending games, but I also enjoy being able to do it my own way.

Character Creation that doesn't suck...

Filled up all the slots available in both Soul Calibur 4 and 5 with custom characters.

Story and lots of it. Preferably without cut scenes. I appreciate it if the main story is told with cut scenes, but side stories are everywhere and told with a few objects. (Valve is awesome with this) I fell in love with Skyrim when I stumbled upon a house with two burnt corpses inside. There was a note from a journal saying how the couple was leaving because of the dragons.

Little unnecessary touches always make the game better, like easter eggs.

Besides story the game mechanics have to be good(hook shot in Just Cause 2 made the game infinitely more fun)

Action fighting (Vindictus, C9), A wide selection of classes to pick from, alot of monsters to fight and the ability to but people on ignore.

The last one is a must since playing League of Legends.

*Primary colors (not necessarily pastels but, those can be nice too)
*Memorable characters
*2D/2.5D side-scrolling
*Humor (or the potential for said)
*replay-ability (single player)
*Strange things (Eggplant Wizards, Pigs in Space [no, not a Muppet reference], Evil Pig Overlords)
*More gameplay than cutscenes (QTE's don't count as gameplay)
*Ninjas
*Robots
*Variety (such as the enemies of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night)

Call me easy to please, but the biggest things that make me favorably disposed toward a game is when the story is good and gameplay uses the features of the system well. Which is probably why I despise both the Wii and the 3DS despite otherwise being a Nintendo fangirl-the 'features' are gimmicky well beyond my tolerance for crap, and thus can never really be 'used well', and most of their 'stories' are ones I've read before.

-An interesting stylized aesthetic.
-Memorable, haunting music.
-Stuff that looks like it's glowing without being bloomy (Botanicula, Journey...Actually, things looking like they're made out of light seems to be a popular trend in electronics. I like it.)
-An atmospheric setting. It's hard to define, but it has to feel lonely, sad, and mysterious.
-Exploration rather than combat being the central focus of the game.
-Very little in the way of dialogue or GUI.
-An imaginative fantasy setting that doesn't follow the elf/dwarf/etc. themes of standard Tolkeinesque fantasy (Yahtzee has talked about this a lot, and I've always felt the same way).
-Symbolism is always a plus.
-Ideally a story that involves some personal interpretation.

Yes, I played Journey today. Can you tell?

- Humour like in Monkey Island
- Good and interesting characters
- A good story
- Innovation and uniqueness
- When you're suprised in a good sense in a game, be it a new feature, some amazing scene or entertaining gameplay
- Consequences for your decisions
- Multiple paths and endings
- Good A.I.
- Colours! A larger pallete than browns and greys
- Leaning in FPS games
- Epic and/or existencialist stories that make you think about life itself and the world we live in. Bioshock and Half-Life 2 could be examples of this.
- Weather and day/night cycles. You can add moon phases too :)

Unless it comes from a company on my "No-Buy" list, or is an RTS, I'll grab just about any PC game with a mod/creation kit.
