Deus Ex: Human Revolution... Why do we care ?

I'm surprised how so many of you find my ideas and comments outlandish when in fact terrible reboots of a series are common place. Especially people trying to make classic games, I shall list several for you. First a foremost, the game that holds the most similarity to this subject since it...

Deus Ex: Human Revolution... Why do we care ?

Ok one part of this debate I want to put to bed is the whole art style of this game, that wasn't a major point of my argument and people have hooked into it and adding all kinds of nonsense. Firstly, yes the game is very Blade Runner Esq but that's not steampunk, its cyberpunk as quite a few...

Deus Ex: Human Revolution... Why do we care ?

Yes ill admit it has some cyberpunk trends sure, but it is also heavilly mixed with anime. The arms scream of them far more than Cyberpunk. The whole thing looks far to slick in most cases and modernised to be real cyberpunk, they say the arts style is cyber renaissance, a mix of near future and...

Deus Ex: Human Revolution... Why do we care ?

As anyone who doesn't live in a hole should know, the new Deus Ex game is well on its way to coming out and will be with us soon. The marketing power of Square Enix is well at work at creating a buzz for it too but we have to ask ourselves... should we really care at all ? The first Deus Ex...

    Review: Breach

This review was fine but it missed the most essential and obvious point I thought. There is already a damm fps out there with destructable mechanics to blow up buildings and walls. Battlefield 2 bad company 2, one of the biggest and most successful of the FPS giants. Their only unique...

    Review: DC Universe Online

The main complaints about this game dissapear on the PC version, or some of them anyway. Laggy interface gone, bad communication gone, samey game play and repeated stuf not gone... but playing with friends you can talk too and communicate with properly makes it so much better. The meat of an...

    "Pop" Game Culture

A friend recently posed a question to me which opened up a lot of ideas in my head about gaming and its communities. When he saw how much money and revenue the gaming industry had made, beating movies and music alike by a significant margin he asked... "With games becoming so main stream, will...

Poll: WikiLeaks set to reveal US-UFO war in southern ocean

Whats kind of weird is I remember watching this, it was all over the news here and tuns of youtube videos. All these mexicans and tourists filming the lights in the sky that made shapes and flew in formation etc. You can probably still find them if you look them up. So... while its quite...

Child Safety Bill Could Cripple Anime Industry

I'm really not against this one so much, I'm all for fighting censorship but frankly anime has been flying on the edge of what's acceptable for a long time. This law wont stop that stuff being sold, it will just stop it being sold on the bottom shelf etc in plain view of children. Anime and...

Why the Book Is Always Better

Disagree in the case of Lord of the Rings. That book had huge sections that rambled on forever about nonsense I didnt care about. Two Towers is so tedious its unreal, entwives this, mumble mumble entwives that. The helms deep fight is only two pages before it goes back to humdrum dullard...

    Fallout: NV.... Something very wrong.

Ok I think people are missing the point of this thread. Point is... the game is broken, it is poorly programmed using a system it copied from other games. It is riddled with bad quests, generic and bland writting with humour thrown in without content, rhyme or reason. Its railroading approach...

    Fallout: NV.... Something very wrong.

New Vegas though is a great example of rail roading in a sandbox. You have to progress from each town in a strict order, trying to sneak past means you encounter Deathclaw packs that are near immortal or other crazy stuff to kill you and herd you back. Yes you can figure a way out past those...

    Fallout: NV.... Something very wrong.

The bugs that occured in Fallout 3 were relatively excusable because it was a major leap forward compaired to the previous fallout games. In terms of design, size, scope and playability. Yet they didnt make any effort to improve, beta test or fix these same problems which is not excusable for a...

    Fallout: NV.... Something very wrong.

A tottally valid point and one I agree with, its a good system to use. However my point was that in this case, they seem to be using it to hide the lack of content or freedom. Generic quests that have to be done in a relative order, town to town and YOU DIE if you go try to break this order.

    Fallout: NV.... Something very wrong.

Your kidding me right ? You havent even read my posts, ive been insulting Bethesda for their bad handling of the series, hardly a fanboy of theirs. They brought out the half finished Fallout 3 from the creators, finished it and then claimed credit. Their first stand alone Fallout game isnt up to...
